Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain HYPE Thread
With MGSV:TPP less then a month away, I wanted to make a hype thread. So here it is! Cant wait to make some cars slip on horse poop and to Fultin every living thing I see.

One thing about the Mother Base that I'm concerned about. I don't just want to walk around mother base, I also want to walk around INSIDE it, maybe see the inside of the command center, see Big Boss' quarters where he sleeps, etc.

I am seriously tempted to buy this, but I have only played Metal Gear Solid 1 and that was in the distant past when I was four.
I suggest getting the whole series, but if you want only the ones that connect to this one, get Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, and Ground Zeroes(Make sure it's cheap before you buy) they follow Big Boss's story, while the others follow Solid Snake, which I'm sure you've heard of.
I know pretty much the lore.
I know that Big Boss is the father of his clone sons Solid, Liquid and Solidus. I wonder if the twins will make an appearance in this one.
I would still recommended you try to play as much of the series beforehand so that you can get a feel for the themes, tones, gameplay. Plus, there are many small details in the story easily missed if the games are not played, so that is another good reason to try and catch up if you can.

Judging by Quiet's theme(Which is amazing) she'll eventually hit the bucket.
She most likely will.
If her affinity with Big Boss is low she'll probably become a boss. If her affinity with Big Boss is maxed out, she'll die some other way.
And yeah, it is amazing, especially Stefanie Joosten's version.

Poor Big Boss indeed. I've seen some theorizing that his relationship with Quiet could be similar to the one he had with The Boss.
Along with the him having to kill his own soldiers, based off of the e3 trailers.
Donna's version isn't bad, but I think Stefanie's voice is more fitting, and I prefer the instrumental. Somethin tells me this will play in a feels heavy scene.
Who knows what they're relationship will be. I've heard some say Big Boss is just using her because he says eventually he'll be the one kill her.
She's being played like a damn fiddle.
We'll have to wait a few more weeks. I think it'll depend on the affinity between them. I dunno, but from the short e3 trailer it looks like might have a lot of trust in her. She could've just tried shooting him in the head, instead of lighting his cigar.
One of the reasons I might not buy this game, it is because I have heard that there were a lot of exposition and cut-scenes in Metal Gear Solid 4. What do you guys think about that? Will there be a lot of exposition in Phantom Pain?
It was confirmed that there won't be as much cutscenes in TPP than the MGS games. Also, I think you should play some of the MGS games before it, if you want to understand it.

Did you guys know if you preorder on steam you get the MGS 5 demo for free? It was like that, you may have to check to see if they're still offering that deal.
Never played the Metal Gear games, but this is getting great reviews. Wonder if it's a decent place to start.
Well, video image alone is quite spoilery too. It feels hard to wait 7 days if the Launch Traler is already out.
I would say at least watch all the cutscenes of MGS3 and Peace Walker to understand this story. But if you don't plan on getting this game anytime soon, I suggest starting from scratch with MGS1 up to here.
I remembered when my elder brother showed me MGS1 and let me play it. I didn't knew much about the game story then. But now looking back, it is a fond memory.
They said you can buy things in the game with real money to unlock them faster, but everything that you can pay for with real money is unlockable. I tried looking for the video that said it but its one of their E3 gameplay show offs, I'll post it if I find it later.
