  • Why does Hollywood hate the Gaming community so much?

  • Very skeptical about it. Doesn't matter that Fassbender is in it because it still has the possibility of being bad. Maybe not as bad as the other game based movies, but not great.

  • Well, Ubisoft set up their own Film Division to actually produce this (along with their other IPs), so if they screw up this one, they only have themselves to blame (though I guess definition of screw will differ depending on what the viewer wants in an AC movie).

  • Has there ever been a good movie based on a movie game?

  • Uhhh, MAYBE the first Hitman film with Timothy Olyphant...

Has there ever been a good movie based on a movie game?

  • Well, that's to be an expected response, since there have been just so many mediocre to bad Video game films (hence the term "Video game film Curse").

Though I have heard Ubisoft have set up their own Film division for this, and keeping a lot of things close to their chest (such as keeping an eye on the screenplay etc and retaining all creative decisions regarding this movie), so I have a little more hope for this one.

  • Nah, that movie felt nothing like the games. Too many scenes of Olyphant's Agent 47 just shooting people with loud bangs and explosions everywhere here and there, and not enough stealth kills.

Though I think the recent hitman movie: "Htiman: Agent 47" is even worse (since Agent 47 just shoots and guns down bad guys on the streets, lol), I wouldn't really consider Olyphant's film to be good either.

  • I haven't seen the new one... Though chances are I might for some reason (I watched the trailer and it really didn't look good to me)

  • If Ubisoft is strongly connected with the making of this film, then I suppose there is a bit of hope for the film. A very small chance tho.
