Ok. This thread is dedicated to MGS the phantom train. Post your top three moments that made you laugh.

  1. FIRE WHALE OF DOOM.
  2. How many times Kojima places his name in the game. I am thinking about playing a drinking game, to take a shot whenever i see Kojima's name.
  3. D-DOGS Attack- seriously? LOL

Please post your MGS Phantom train moments.

  • Yesterday i was rolling, i stole a guys jeep earlier by extracting it with my balloon. I did a side op there about a hour later, and every five seconds this guy would tell his buddies that his car was stolen, and his CO would say, just deal with it, and the guy would reply. "Damn." Then it would repeat, over and over and over again.

Little Liquid and Mantis run away with Metal Gear and live happily ever after, Big Medic is such a tool. I'm surprised he went along with the plan when it was all explained to him. I'd be pretty pissed if I were him. All those years at medical school just to become a mass murdering machine.

Also I want to go Miller's Maxi Buns.

Yeah, what a sweet ending. But Konami will ruin their happy ending with a 20$ DLC, which is a mission that should've been in the game. Indeed, he is a tool. The only positive things about becoming that mass murdering machine are that he's more handsome now, and it made Quiet have the hots for him.

Imagine if the story Miller's Maxi Buns is a preview of an iOS and Android game where you play as Kaz and have to manage your own fast food restaurant chain. GOTY of 2016.

I actually didn't like it, I thought I was gonna play Big Boss transformation into a villain, but instead we got the body double. The trailers are widely different from the game, with the whole "In Outer Heaven, Men Become Demons." And I wouldn't say he that scarred face is better than his regular face. And I still can't believe SnakeXQuiet is actually a thing.

I knew there was a reason I put on the mess hall team in PW.

    enter link description here

  • Yep, I was expecting that as well, and there were scenes that aren't even in the final game, like Snake walking through that burned down village. And if Big Boss did everything like Venom, this game would've failed in it being the one where his transformation occurs, because Venom is too nice, tbh. Well, the scarred face is better than the one I gave him. I made him as ugly as possible. Ever since the samples of her theme were released, I was expecting it tbh. It could've been done better if Venom Snake talked more.

They've been building things up since PW. Wonder if Miller's will eventually change the name to McDonell's.

  • And the scene where Big Boss; face is all bloody with the fire behind him as well. True, but I think him becoming evil could've came in a new chapter, since I hear a Chapter 3 might've been cut from the game. And I think there should've been more scenes with Skull Face and Snake talked. The only lines Snake spoke to him were: "There were three. Where's the other?" What a waste of Kiefer Sutherland, the best line of his was cut from the game.

What part of theme made you think Snake and Quiet were gonna have a bit of a romantic sub plot?

I just gave him a simple generic kind of face, regular haircut and a beard.

    Also, fuck Huey.

Kaz is actually the CEO of McDonalds, the one that taught Solid and was killed by Liquid was actually a fake.

  • That too, and the whole Kingdom of Flies episode being removed is really bad, because the plot point with Liquid and Mantis stealing the Metal Gear is unresolved. I've heard of that, and there was another ending that no one is sure if it is cut or almost impossible to obtain, which is related to all the nukes in the world being disarmed, which is probably related to the FOB stuff. The jeep ride with Skull Face was so awkward. He just went on and on, while Venom looked bored as hell. That line is actually in this "Nuclear Disarmament" ending.

The "Love hurts so bad, but still saved my soul" part and little bit of "Memories I want to give them to you, so you can see what we left there", though I suppose it could've been a different kind of love, instead of a romantic one.

I was tempted to make him look like he did in GZ, but I ended messing his face up.

Fuck Huey indeed. What an asshole he turned out to be. I'm kinda glad his second wife cheated on him with Otacon.

Liquid thought he killed Kaz, but he actually killed his body double, Poisonous Miller.

  • There's another ending that was cut and/or impossible to get?

I thought it was gonna be mentor-apprentice kind of relationship.

    "REVENGE!" -Huey

My thoughts on the story should've played out was have the quarantine mission before killing Skull Face, giving more reason why Snake wants Skull Face dead and adding to revenge theme that was barely there, an have that could be when Big Boss starts going crazy having him doing any thing to try to kill Skull Face. So when he finally does, he realizes he can't live without war, so he moves base on land and starts building Outer Heaven, starts training the child soldiers and eventually builds the Metal gear in MG1. And have the epilogue mission be his fight with Solid Snake.

I thought it'd be like that at first too, like a paralel between the relationship he had with The Boss,

Huey prooving he's the true demon in this game.

That honestly would've been far better than what actually we actually got, and things could've come full circle if the final boss battle was against Solid. Instead we get Medic Boss who is pretty much a Saint and Skull Face who is now a meme.

I also heard there's an ending where instead of dismantling them, you take them for yourself.

I have more ideas on the story too.

Chapter 1 plays out mostly the same, except the quarantine mission is the end of it, Chapter 2 is him doing whatever possible to get to Skull Face, becoming more and more evil, and then finally kills him and takes ST-84 Metal Gear. Chapter 3 starts off with Eli and Mantis stealing the Metal Gear, then Huey's trail happens and he gets sent off, so the rest of the chapter is Snake looking for Eli, meeting all the Solid Snake era characters along the way, like Gray Fox, Naomi, Sniper Wolf, etc, etc. Chapter 3 finally ends the same mission 51 cut content. Then the epilogue where you play as Solid Snake fighting Big Boss.

If the game was like that, it would 100/10 best thing ever.

  • I'll have to check that out, but yeah, by the looks of it the game has a lot of cut content. Chapter 2 is caleed "Race", but I feel that it doesn't really deal with that, unless it was a race to finish the game.

That would've been way better tbh. I found the lack of Gray Fox, Naomi and Sniper Wolf really strange, because weren't we in around the same areas they were at the time? I also felt like killing Chico off-screen was a bit of a waste.

The themes of this game weren't explored that much, not much revenge and race.

I dunno where Big Boss found Naomi and Gray Fox, but Sniper Wolf was in Afghanistan when he found her. But the twist now raises the question of which Big Boss they met. Venom or the real Big Boss?

  • That's true, the only character who really wanted revenge was Kaz. Race isn't really explored much either. I have a feeling they also ended up censoring the taboo themes.

I think Fox and Naomi were somewhere in Africa. Yep, I don't think we'll ever know if Wolf met Venom or Big Boss. We just have to settle with having a sniper and a wolf.

Also, what's up with the inconsistency in the time of day when Ocelot and Big Boss part ways? Wasn't that before he went back to rescue Venom?

  • I kinda hope DLC of a chapter 3 is released, but I doubt it. But they will release mission 51, I have no doubt.

Plus, which Big Boss commanded FOXHOUND as well.

I don't know, some say since 1984 referenced in MGSV, some say that the truth thing was actually a hallucination made up by Big Boss in MGSV. Paz's side story and The Man Who Sold The World song supports this. I'd like to believe this is true, but sadly, I don't think it is.

  • Maybe they can salvage some things that were planned to be in chapter 3. Mission 51 has high chances of being finished as a DLC. Wonder if it would be free, then again... Konami.

I think that was the real one, because Venom doesn't seem to have lost the shrapnel horn. Though it could be retconned.

It could be, somehow. Maybe not though. Venom hallucinated the whole Paz things and Kaz and Ocelot showed up in the hallucination too. Who knows if he didn't hallucinate anything else.

  • Another question, when exactly in Venom told he isn't Big Boss?

It could've just started to come out on it's own.

Another part of the theory says that the shrapnel made Big Boss have schizophrenia and believe he was also the medic, a dual personality. What supports this is that The Man Who Sold The World song is about someone who has schizophrenia.

  • I'm not sure if it was clarified. The scenes that take place in Outter Heaven were during or before Solid's mission to stop the Outter Heaven uprising, but he must've known the truth before that.

Another weird thing is the digoxin. it in no way should help Venom "get back into the game".

There was shooting outside, maybe it was Solid fighting the soldiers and the final scene where Venom punches the mirror and walks off is him going to fight Solid Snake.

I don't know much about drugs and medicine, why shouldn't it help him?

You think we should go into PM, since we spoiled almost everything here?

  • That's what I was thinking. The gunfire we hear in the background could be the OH troops fighting. Solid. After he punches the mirror, Venom goes to fight him.

Well according to wikipedia, some of the effects it can have on patients include nausea, vomiting, confusion, depression, nightmares and amnesia and problems with colour perception.

But what was the whole point of the Operation Intrude N13N13 tape?

The color perception is there sort of, since Venom says sometimes colors are little faded.

  • Good question. Maybe Venom listened to it before but they had to show the tape so we would know the scene takes place during MG1? It's weird that Venom doesn't look older.

True, the problems with colour perception are there, but it still doesn't like a drug that shoul help him get back on his feet.

And yeah, it might be best to continue this in PMs and spoiler tag the previous posts.

Right now i like D-Dog. Everyone yells at D-Dog to get out of here, if i saw a dog with a headset, and a sneaking suit i probably call it in.

  • I extracted herds and herds of goats, and now there's a picture of a goat's face in the helicopter that makes me chuckle.

Earlier I was messing around in an outpost, there were three guards that were looking for me while I hid behind a tent and squirted them with the water gun. Then they kinda lined up, so I shot my rocket fist at them. Got all three with one shot. Donkey punched the first in the back of the head, the second pulled out his flashlight so he got a real good look at the robot fist punching him between the eyes. And then there was the poor, poor third guy. I had to just turn as fast as I could to the right and just hope to hit him. In my haste I also caused the fist to descend a little. Apparently he had turned to look at his friend get hit in the face because the fist caught him square in the crotch.

I also like to just run around mother base shooting all my soldiers with the water gun.

Not MGSV, but somewhat related (minor MGS3 spoilers):

I find it hilarious when Colonel Volgin reveals his entire plan and where the Legacy is hidden in MGS3 when he is torturing Big Boss because he gets overexcited. Little does he realize that all of his allies in the room are actually double agents working against him to try and steal the Legacy/disable the Shagohod. Safe to say it comes back to bite him in the ass.
