The interface, a run button and the character models looks cleaner looking. If you look closely, you can see a thicker outline on the character models now as well as their eyes being shinier and clearer.
Need an example? Take a look at our poor lost friend Omid.
using the mouse to click options on screen instead of scrollwheel/numbers. that almost got me killed alot in s1, i was so used to everything ever on a pc being able to be pointed at and clicked.
I had a similiar reaction. I was annoyed at Clem's speed and pressed shift out of a habit...then Clem actually started to walk faster. I was amazed that it actually worked. This usually only works in first person perspective games.
Season Two has improved on certain things certainly. Sometimes though it can come at a cost.
For example I do prefer the improved graphics, but maybe the cost of that is the length of an episode. I would be interested in knowing the file size differences between Season One and Two.
Another thing I think has improved dramatically is the facial expressions. In Season One there wasn't many variations on those. Thankfully that has been rectified.
Next I think the character believability has improved, especially in Episode Two. I really felt empathy with Walter, when he realises his partner was killed. Then when he was killed himself, I just wanted to shoot Carver there and then. Just shows how well we connect to these characters.
That being said, the only character I do have a problem with is Carver. At the moment I find him way over the top. Hope that telltale winds him down in the next episode, otherwise he will just be yet another exaggerated villain with no qualities or redeeming aspects of his personality.
Yes I know he walked miles to get Rebecca, but that wasn't his only reason and doesn't show yet any different sides of his psyche. Hopefully that will be remedied in Episode Three and beyond.
As for the Kenny return, I did enjoy that and always thought it was going to happen. Regardless of some of the outrageous other theories that some on this forum came up with, as to who was to return. Personally, reading those made me think some people on here ought to get out more.
Finally Clementine herself. I admit I took sometime in getting used to her personality in Episode One, but in Episode Two she finally clicked with me. She is obviously much different than Season One Clementine, but that's obvious due to her age. In Episode Two, telltale got everything right with her in my opinion. She is feisty, yet there are glimpses of the younger version that many of us got so attached to. That is so true, as many of us being parents would know. I hope to see more aspects of her older personality in the upcoming episodes.
