I didn't see the original message but did it show the staff members name? That could be why it was classed as confidential as the staff member didn't give permission for their private conversation to be made public.
It's probably not so much that it's "confidential" as it was "unconfirmed" or "unofficial."
From what I've seen of the conversation, I wo… moreuld hazard a guess that Fredden93 was asking the Telltale staff member about possible conflicts between TWAU and TWD production leading to delays. That staff member responded to this by saying that there was no conflict and gave a very rough estimate for when TWAU would be release as a way to assure a fan that the wait for TWAU EP3 won't be nearly as long as the wait for TWAU EP2. Fredden93 took this information and ran with it as an official confirmation, which it wasn't. It was just a guess.
I have to say, I don't really agree with this ban either, since he didn't technically violate anything in the guidelines. That being said, I also don't like Fredden's attitude of "Welp, I guess you shouldn't have told me that then. It's all on you" towards the staff member who was in correspondence with him. Just a note that "violating someone's privacy" is in fact against Telltale's Terms of Service. It is just polite internet etiquette to not post other people's personal information publicly.
But, we should move on, since it is against forum guidelines to discuss banned forum members (mostly because it's not fair to them to talk about them "behind their backs" since they can't join in on the conversation).

Talked to Freddie on Steam, and according to him, and according to the printscreen he sent me of the mail convo, (yes, it's real), he was not instructed whatsoever to not share the information he was given. He is just as shocked as we are to get the information. I don't blame him for sharing it with us; it was clearly a misconduct by Telltale. it was indeed a major leak. And in my opinion he did the right thing to let us know. We need more communication with Telltale. Heck, what if Freddie is a game journalist and was given this kind of stuff from Telltale staff...
Just wanted to say this before we move on as he don't have any possibilities to tell this himself.

What I remember from the post a Staff member had a specific date posted for the release of episode 3 for TWAU.
Its possible they got upset when found out it got leaked out
Apparently @FreddeN93 was Banned for sharing that with us. Confidential information? It's about time Telltale Games stop being vague about e… moreverything. It was basically a mail from a Telltale Staff member, (not gonna say any names).
MOD EDIT: Please don't discuss the contents of the e-mail. See my comment below for why.
So basically he just emailed a Telltale staffer asking [REDACTED], they replied with [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED]. Well that's a recipe for a lose-lose situation if I ever saw one...
We're not really at liberty to discuss banned members, for multiple reasons (least of which being that they can't defend themselves).
Wha… moret I WILL say is that, as you've no doubt discovered, he was banned for sharing what was intended to be a confidential discussion with another member of Telltale. Until I/we hear back from Telltale about this issue, I'd ask people not to share what was in that discussion, which is why I'm editing posts to remove quotes from it.
I understand people are excited about Telltale's games, but this incident is a very delicate situation and if possible I'd prefer that we err on the side of caution by not discussing it for the time being. I understand your frustrations, I do, but like I say, delicate situation.

Was he leaking information?
From what I understand, a support email was given to Fredde. As I said above, the contents of support emails are not supposed to be leaked.
Whoever gave the information wasn't "purposefully" leaking information. The other volunteer mods and I don't know why this was given to him, but nevertheless, it wasn't meant to be distributed publicly.

"Played Ep 3 of #TheWolfAmongUs today at the office. Bloody good...
We'll have news on its release much sooner than you think! Stay tuned!"
Tweet from Job J Stauffer. Gotta think this is good news for In Harm's Way's release date. I have faith. Just had to get past the episode 2s. Now they'll start pumping both TWAU and TWD out.
It just wasn't information meant for the community just yet. It wasn't Freddie's fault, it wasn't Telltale's fault, it certainly wasn't the fault of any of the moderators. The fact is Telltale have their own schedules for development and marketing that they will meet when the time comes, not before. Stop making this into something bigger than it is.

It did, yeah. Again though, would rather not leap to conclusions.

There were no dates, just an estimate.
Considering Telltale has been using Anadel's songs lately, I thought maybe this could fit In Harm's Way.

I was actually just listening to that, they should definitely use it for The Walking Dead![:D :D](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
Just a question since I'm replaying Season 1; when does this happen?
Sharing what? (I'm gone for one day >.>)
When you look at the map on the train
Yeah I know but I still never seen that before. So how does that happen?
i'd guestimate April for Ep3,just finished Ep2 the quality is superb
Maybe tell her that "I think i heard your parents die" option

MOD EDIT: [REDACTED]
No sooner than May 8th if we're lucky
or was it the "your parents are dead get over it"
EEEEEERGGGGHHHHHHHHH incorrect. the correct answer was April 15 or 22. better luck next time
You don't know that, sadly.
Good thing you're talking to a Blind Sniper...
I wish for that to be correct
We can all hope darnit.

Was he leaking information?
that was in his profile
never mind...i scrolled down
so someone from TT leaks information and then bans it's community members?

Yeah, I really think that song fits Walking Dead well. I'm surprised Telltale hasn't used it.
kind of doesn't really seem fair to ban him...
I take a few days off and this shit happens? What the french. Oh and is it out yet?
Nope. We lost one of our own, though, this early in the waiting period.
If the twitter pic is any indication, we are getting an interesting "Playing Dead" this Saturday.
And so his watch has ended.
We're not talking about it, remember?![;) ;)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
So they gave a poster a release date and then got upset when he shared it.
Wtf
Telltale continues to treat their fans like crap.

Moderators aren't from Telltale Staff unless they have "Telltale Staff" badge next to their username.
It's NOT Telltale's fault. Moderators aren't Telltale Staff, just a regular members with moderation rights.
Oh. Damn moderators gone power mad....
