  • I won't argue that. Just for me, personally, it wasn't anything better than ok. I'll play it, but I can guarantee it won't leave a stain on my brain like twd, tlou, halo or other games I would consider touching/memorable. TWAU would fade into oblivion with the vast majority of other games I've played. Only the select few and proud get to remain in my mind :p

Yeah I'd probably drop series/everything, and cry in my room for a couple months. I've invested way too much time in her and this series. 2 plus years building on a character just for her to die "would probably do me In."

  • Same scenario for me.

  • Considering how 80% of what i think throughout the day for the past 4 months has been Clementine and TWD I think her death would cause me some serious trauma. I think i would only pick their future games after all episodes are released and they're on sale.

  • ahh i see your point when you put it like that i think TWAU is pretty awesome but like you said it probably won't stick with me like TWD but who knows there is still 3 episodes left

I believe what you have to do is send me a private message and then post a link to the conversation. Only the person who sent the message and the person who is supposed to receive the message can view it from that link though, so it's still private.

  • I haven't read the comics. Your comments are falling on deaf ears :p

  • Yes very likable. I remember reading that TTG emphasized that the principle characters (Clem & Lee) be very likable to encourage a better user/character relationship and that they wanted them to meet up as soon as possible once the story began.

  • That's very true. I'm judging a book by its cover and I probably shouldn't do that. I should wait until the end to say it won't be memorable, but the way it's going now I just don't think it will be :p

I really hope TTG doesn't consider killing her off, to me that would be pointless after everything that Lee thought her in S1 and everything she's been through, it would be disappointing. What would be worse to me is if she ended up psychologically traumatized by the horrors that she has seen but I have faith in TTG that they can come up with an amazing story. As for the forums/community, this is actually the first one I ever joined, the people here are some of the nicest, funniest, mature, and an all around great community that I have grown to like a lot. I don't think I would leave it but maybe take a break from it if Clem were to die.

  • Take the advice being presented to you. Don't ruin the game for yourself.

  • You finished it faster than me lol. Nice.

  • that is just disturbing xD

  • LOL, awesome buddy!!!!!

  • In principle, as long as a story is good and well-written, I can accept pretty much anything happening within it. For example, I was absolutely fine with Lee dying in Season 1 because that was a really good and satisfying ending for the character and for the game. But for Season 2, I honestly can't conceive of a well-written story that ends with Clementine dying.

Any scenario I can think of just seems like it would either be a rehash of Season 1 (main character dies but achieves some greater good) or a completely hopeless downer ending (main character dies and no greater good is achieved). Neither of those would be satisfying to me. Maybe I'm being closed-minded here, but killing off Clementine any time soon would just be really bad writing in my opinion. And since the only reason I'm playing this game is to enjoy the writing, that would probably cause me to leave the series altogether.

  • Well said. I think that Clem brought a lot of people together unified in helping her to the very end. Besides a few trolls here and there this forum has a lot of incredibly well spoken and highly interesting people which brings me back every day. Before this forum I haven't actively posted on any message board for years so it took Clem and a lot of liked minded fans to bring me back from message board retirement. I would just hate for so many of us here to suffer if Clem was taken away from us.

I really hope TTG doesn't consider killing her off, to me that would be pointless after everything that Lee thought her in S1 and everything

  • I wouldn't stop playing altogether, but I would take a break for maybe six months or so. And when I'm done crying my eyes out I might come back for more.

  • Wow you're right! Never thought of it that way. Not only is Clementine the heart of Telltale TWD but she has also brought the fans together for us to share our thoughts about the game. It's amazing what this game can do to people emotionally, how we can get so into the story and how attached we get to the characters. Thank you Clementine09 that was amazing and awesome picture btw :)

Lets all just chill its just a game. And im sure TTG will be reasonable with character deaths/how they get hurt. TTG are smart writers and they like to do original things. Clem's death would be way too much like Lee's death. All the characters around clem though its pretty much open season.

With all this commotion about her dying I can see TTG faking Clem's death making it look like she died but have her appear alive at the end becoming a video game messiah. That would be as rich.

I do not see things adding up to clem's death in general. If they did kill off Clem I would not be able to take it. Rioting would just be dumb though.

This community is one of the best things in my life. I know it may seem exaggerated, but i got attached to everyone. Users,Mods,Characters. Everyone. Clementine is my favorite character ever. If you'd give me ten papers and a pencil and you'd say i should describe how much i love her and why in ten minutes,i would immediately need more papers. I just can't...

IF Clem would die,and i pray to God for the contrary... I wouldn't leave the community.Because no matter how much i love her,how much i'd cry... No matter how much i want her to live... Her death would add to the reasons i love Telltale games. They make you FEEL. Literally.

If Clem would die, i would just... Cry. Cry some more. Cry a LOT more. I would go to the bathroom and cry by myself, bawl until i have no more tears... I would just cry my eyes out. And then i would think of how much we went through together, from the start of season 1 to her demise in season 2... I would cry some more while thinking about it. Then i'd take a break, cry as much as i need alone, somewhere where nobody can see me and ask me why i'm sad, why i'm crying, and then call me a weirdo. I AM a weirdo. But i think that the weirdo path suits me best. Then i'd just listen to that one song that always squishes tears out of me... The song from the end of episode 2 from season 2. "In The Pines". I'd listen to it and review all my adventures with Clem, think to myself how much i love her and why. After that,i'd just take a real break. I would take a long nap, probably crying myself to sleep. When i'd wake up, i'd start replaying season 1. Go through it all again. Feel it all again. And then season 2. And sob the whole playthrough. And then i'd ask myself why i do this. Why i torture myself. And i'd accept the fact that i'd always continue doing that,i'd accept her death, and keep playing.

You know,i rarely cry. Seriously. I can hold all my feelings inside, so as to never let anybody see what's really going on inside of me. But when it comes to my characters... I'm letting it all go(LET IT GOOOO,LET IT GOOOO). Because they are not just fictional characters to me. I think of them as real persons, the apocalypse, a real thing. I always thought about them this way... I always thought that, when somebody creates any kind of story, a movie, or a book... That world they've created is real, somewhere, out there. I think of every book and film as a separate universe, a parallel universe, and all those characters are actually real and they've actually went through everything we thought were just words or pictures. But that's just me. That's who i am, i guess i'm too much of a dreamer. And i can't help, no matter what everyone else says, to think of those characters that way, and feel for them even more.

That's why Clementine's death would destroy me. The bond between me and her is something REAL for me. Call me whatever you want, i will be the first to say that i am weird and all that, but i am not exaggerating. That's the saddest thing. Everything that i wrote here, maybe even more... It would just be the real way i would react. It's all me.

But, i repeat, Clementine's demise WOULD reduce my heart to ashes, but i would not leave the community because of it. I've experienced strong feelings all my life, i'm a fangirl, and her death would mean the strongest feeling ever for me... But i guess i'm tough enough emotionally to survive it and continue playing these games. Feelings hurt. But, as i said, they're also the thing that makes Telltale such a unique company. And i will never stop coming here for more.

If you've been through all of this, you deserve a medal. But thanks for reading, anyway. I hope you don't think of me as a total alien for thinking that now.

  • Thanks man I appreciate it and you're welcome. The photo op turned out some awesome shots of Clem (aka my cosplay model little Liz). I plan to change the pic every now and then just to give her face a new fresh look.

Yea it's incredible to experience here how fictional video game characters pulled people together in such a passionate and emotional manner. It's really something special bro.

  • I feel much the same way. TWAU is entertaining enough for me that I enjoy playing it, but I can't see it achieving the same emotional connection with me as TWD. With the Wolf, playing as established characters with rich backstory actually works against the experience for me.

Between the 4 months of ep1 and 2 releases, I caught up on the Fables comics, and while I enjoyed them all immensely, it always felt off playing Bigby, when he already has such an established personality, and will end up a certain way in the comics in any case. At first, after the twist at the end of ep1 and reading the comics, I was hoping that the Wolf was going for an alternate universe with the same characters, kind of like the game went for the same universe, different characters. Then what happened ad the end of ep1 could well and truly stick. Feel like it had real weight. But no, none to speak of for me. I nearly facepalmed when the explanation to the twist was revealed.

Still, I enjoy the Fables comics more than the Walking Dead ones, especially in the later WD issues (I feel it drags), but that may very well be just me. Fables characters feel richer, so yeah, anyone reading through this thread who happens to see my post: get Fables right now and read through them. They are awesome, and while they may or may not help your game experience as world building, they're an excellent read with vibrant, genuine characters. Much more than TWAU has been able to do them justice, even with only 2 episodes.

    Aww,thanks for reading it :3

And i don't think "pointless" is the right term. I mean, those feels you experienced here are unlike any others. You were introduced to characters that make you feel like everything is pointless after their deaths, because you love them so much. Has any other game ever made you feel that? Not with me. So i really don't think you have the right to call it "pointless",sir. And still, Clem's death is only the end of her story, and the beginning of another. Just like with Lee. I seriously think you would leave because Clem died, not because everything was pointless. After Lee died, you still kept going. You should do the same even if... You know...

Oh, and, here's that medal i promised!
