You're awesome. A lot of people just downright hate some characters. And when people are like that they can't see some people's assets becau… morese they're too focused on their flaws. I am no fan of Lily, because she was/is a huge controlling butthole. But, I still respect her as a character and I can't wait to see her in season 2, if she does appear.
My list is the same as yours, with Nick being 4th. I don't get why so many people hate Nick. He's nothing like Ben, and his screw ups have been nowhere near as drastic as Ben's. Nick has done everything he's done to protect the group, and he's been honest and open about that. That's more than I can say for Ben.

Yes, selling unlicensed hats is an infringement upon our trademark and copyright of Clementine's hat." Then they proceeded with giving me a link to the god awful licensed replica

I guess any hat related stuff you do will have to stay on the down low, at least if you plan on taking any money for it. I hope that doesn't deter you from sharing your creation(s) with the other fans, and your fans.

No, Im comparing a guy who kills people because he's nuts to a guy that kills people for vengeance to a guy who kills people for food. I could just say Nick's ability to screw things up isn't the same as Ben but people still compare them, You can't just sort all categories of screw ups in one folder.

Barring them, my top 3 would be:
3) Carver. We've only seen him in two scenes so far, but he made quite the impression. Clever, and in control, he knows how to get what he wants from people who don't want to give it to him. Even if he's a scumbag, he's definitely interesting.
2) Nick. Yes, he's a screw up, but he's mature enough to recognize when he makes a mistake, and better yet, he can rectify them. The whole scene with Walter was a great moment for the big lug that got a great payoff.
1) Omid. Smart, capable, and he has a great talent for lightening the mood. No matter how many times I played season 1, I could never bring myself to intentionally tick him off, not even just to see how he responds. I always wanted to make him my bud.

People compare Ben and Nick because they fill the "inexperienced kid who keeps mucking things up" archetype. They fill similar roles in their respective groups whereas Nate was a loner and a companion for Russell while Danny St. John and Carver are the active antagonists of their Seasons, at least for the periods they appear. Nate never attacks Russell, the worst he does is abandon him if you choose to try and stay with him. Danny St. John wanted to eat you and Carver tortures and murders the people he claims to care about. To compare them is some serious false equivalence.

I think Lee, Nate from 400 days, and Chuck (the vagabond from season one) have been the best written characters in the series so far.
Oh we understand his character, he tried and screwed up at every turn. That's why most people don't like Ben.
