  • Last of us just seems like a movie we have no control over (OPINION)

  • This is the internet how dare you have opinions

Last of us just seems like a movie we have no control over (OPINION)

  • That's the thing with Larry idk why but I always tried to save him playing the last of us loosened up my morals
Especially what Joel did in the end it made me think sometimes you just can't do the right thing tere are always situations where it'll be lose lose
Twd didn't do that for me because of the bandits but I could understand tlou points where Joel implied that he has and participated in ambushes
I love them both equally but something about tlou struck me
Like I said though did you sympathize with the bandits in the walking dead and then the last of us
As much as I hated David he did have a point they were just lookin for more supplies and whatnot
I could see where they were coming from
The last thing is that in the end it was sort of similar to lee searching for clementine they both refused to leave their respected daughter like figures and risked their life to get them back(we all know what happened to lee but still)
Besides technically twd did that for the stranger yeah you or clementine can kill him but I still felt sorry for him in the end
And it was only ep 2 & 3 that really had humans as main enemies tlou had both human and infected throughout the entire game
I loved both episodes but having humans throughout that game I kin of sympathized with them (not oh poor men just slight sympathy)
Overall playing the last of us MADE me feel as if "you gotta do what's necessary to survive no more right or wrong" I noticed that after playing tlou it felt like it truly made me see kenny pov

I can see your point, but I don't get it… how? You couldn't really choose a different side in the last of us, so how did it convince you to

  • TLOU wins in my book. Ellie is just way more interesting and more badass than Clem. Sorry :(

I seriously don't understand why everyone on this forum has an obsession with the last of us yea it has the same father/daughter thing as twd and yea it is a great game but everyone just keeps on going and going and going on about it seriously just stop oh and by the way the walking dead destroys the last of us

  • Clem and Ellie are completely different and have lived in different circumstances, i dont think its fair to compare the 2 of them and choose who of them is more ''badass'' or anything. That being said, a spin-off with ellie & clem would be fantastic, although i doubt that'll ever happen, lol

  • Mark, you're my friend, and that's why i'm gathering mah will to resist posting long-ass rants about both games, fan wars, my indecisiveness, and pineapples.

I JUST CAN'T CHOOSE BETWEEN 2 OF MY FAVORITE GAMES!

  • i think the biggest part is just how he constantly treated the entire thing as a chore. he gets a few moments where he seems to treat ellie as a person, and then it's right back to "i'm only doin this cause i'm stuck with you." his personality just felt more bipolar at times, rather than in conflict. he sort of began to show some change around the end, but it felt too abrupt, imo. i'm ok with his choice, but it felt like it went against every single thing he did for the entire game. you could rationalize he did it for himself, which stays somewhat in character, but it just didn't feel like they had built him to choose that way, through the game.

they were together for a year, and right up until the day they get where they're going, he's completely driven to get her to the fireflies no matter what. his personality thus far would have taken having her die in stride and moved on. the bonding moments just didn't last beyond each "zone", and that's why i didn't like him much.

Technically ther were optional dialogues you could do with Joel And I'll be honest I couldn't help but keep replaying the tlou about 10 times What was it you didn't like about Joel by the wa

  • 'The Last of Us' was a visual masterpiece with an amazing plot line, and I will always consider it to be one of my favourites. But to be completely honest, I'd still choose Telltale's 'The Walking Dead' as my number one. The reasons being are that I feel more connected with the characters, since I have more input with the choices that we have the freedom to pick, and I actually prefer the way the graphics are tailored in this game. It's unique.

For example, with the story of Joel and Ellie, I felt like I was watching it from a distance as I would with a movie. The ending was sad, yet I didn't feel bad about it too long afterwards. But with Lee and Clementine, I actually felt a part of it, and I sobbed like a baby when their time together came to an end. Their father-daughter relationship seemed more organic to me. But then again, that's just my opinion.

    lol the last of us
fight bandits -> fight mushroom zombies -> do box+ladder "puzzles" -> rewarded for the stale gameplay with cutscenes

while i don't like the last of us it's a whole different game to the walking dead.

  • THE TRUTH WUZ SPOKEN!!!

I would still have to go with TWD, TLOU is a great game but i didn't connect with Joel and Ellie like I did with Lee and Clem, Hell I felt even more attached to Kenny than any of the The Last Of Us protagonits

True but does walking dead not just give you the illusion of choice as just changes dialogue and story still exact same

  • We'll of course he treated like a chore he did lose his daughter and was most likely scared to make a bond to another girl only to lose them again
Besides did you do the optional conversation with ellie you could see a difference in Joel's tone with ellie
And then there's the fact on how they lose Henry and Sam I think that might've strengthen their bond more and then if you notice
After ellie kills David when Joel comes up he hugs and refers to her as baby girl exactly like he did with his daughter

  • Yeah the differencing being clementine was born before her apocalypse
Ellie was born during the apocalypse so pretty much she had to learn from the get go
I'd rather be in twd than tlou because those infected are just too fast and hard to kill
At least with twd it's the slow zombies

Life is a journey, not a destination.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Our choices don't cause a butterfly or ripple effect, that's for sure. Yet at the same time, they do carry some weight. For instance, our relationship with Kenny was solidified in Season One, and depending on whether we got along with him or not, the way he will reminisce about Lee in "A House Divided" can change from "He was a hell of a guy." to "Lee and I had our differences.". The way Clementine remembers us can occasionally alter her dialogue, and so on. Those are the little things that makes us nostalgic for the past, and that's why our save files were transferred into Season Two. Because even though these moments may feel insignificant to others, what we choose, does count. Also, it's worth noting that Telltale mentioned our choices will matter more this season.

No matter how you view it, we still have greater input in the story of 'The Walking Dead' than 'The Last of Us', which is generally what helps the players attach themselves to the characters more seamlessly than with traditional gameplay. But each to their own.

  • Can't argue with that but slight changes and nostalgia is nice excuse to have minimal differences in decision to make cheaper game that doesn't branches hate if you want but getting nothing but honesty from me

  • TLOU was rly good , but I like TWD better cuz it was a new approach for TTG and they did an amazing job on it

  • I don't think this question is fair to ask here. You are on Telltale's forums, in TWD section. Naturally the majority is going to prefer TWD here lol. I prefer it too. I loved TLOU, but TWD is just more my speed. I felt more attachment to the characters, and the story being tailored to my choices helps.

  • Ice cream cake is ice cream in disguise.

I hate cake unless it is ice cream cake.

  • Don't get me wrong, I bought a ps3 JUST to play TLOU, but walking dead is at LEAST 99999999999999x better. better story, charactors, replayability, everything. go ahead and disagree but my TLOU experience was ruined by lack of death(Makes you scared that you're favorite character could be next) enemies completely ignoring ellie, and unrealism(My dad's a docter and if someone is impaled, pulling it out is the worst thing you can do, it'll scramble there insides and they'll b dead before it's out) and joel seemed like a selfish soulless asshole. still my #2 favorite game though.

  • Also, the story is "tailored" by our choices, which means that the story will be the same, but the journey is just slightly altered. There was never supposed to be multiple endings or anything of the sort, the difference was just how the supporting cast felt about you. The whole Kenny vs Lilly thing, etc. That's what changes how you perceive the game, and how it is tailored to you. Maybe it was to make the game cheaper, but they never falsely advertised multiple endings or anything like that, so either way you knew coming in what you'd get. Or you misunderstood, but you still know now.

  • TWD will always be number one for me. TLOU is definitely one of the best games I've played, but, it hasn't really had the same emotional impact on me as TWD has.

  • I love both games :)

Nothing. This post was treachery. shudders

No man...it's like saying a good homecooked meal is better than a burger from McDonalds. (TWD is the homecooked meal obviously)

  • This movie is being betrayed... I feel like i'm the only one who gets that reference gif :P

  • Walking dead I've never played TLOU.
