Will the survivors take a plane to Wellington?
In the previous season, Lee's group took a train to Savannah. You can't help but wonder if the current survivors will take another mode of transport to Wellington (It's clear that's the direction Telltale is nudging us). Obviously, taking a train from Virginia to Michigan isn't an option, especially in the middle of winter during a zombie apocalypse. From a geographic perspective, the distance isn't something you can just shrug off either:
So, if we're to assume the majority of episode 3 will unfold in Carver's stronghold, how does Telltale propose to take us from his compound to Wellington, Michigan in the space of just one episode?
Here's an idea: What if Carver's camp is located somewhere near a private airfield, with its own fully operational plane? I'm not talking about some kind of massive jumbo jet, but something smaller and more compact, like an EMB-110:
It's not a stretch for someone as resourceful as Carver to have a means of immediate escape in case everything went to hell. Carver would also make sure the plane A) always had a full tank, and had a trained pilot on hand to take him wherever he needed to go. Carver could even be a pilot himself; we don't know enough about his background yet to be sure.
In any case, it's feasible one of Carver's men would probably know how to fly a plane. Just imagine the potential atmosphere of a "hub area" where Clem can interact with other characters in their passenger seats while the plane flies through a dark winter's sky, shortly after escaping Carver's camp. The inherent drama and action in scenes where the plane takes off or lands could also be fantastic. Picture a sequence where the plane descends out of the clouds to land in a small Michigan airport, only for the pilot to see a runway covered with zombies!

Or we could have another stupid time skip. I hope your right.
It's roughly 1,100 miles as the crow flies, and way more for the actual route. It'd take months to walk that, but I'm not so sure they'd use a plane. It'd be interesting for sure, but I'm not certain that's the route they will take. I say that because I imagine airports would be flooded with zombies, and that fuel would be an issue, and runways would be blocked.
Time skips: When you're too effin' lazy to even bother with a montage!
Eh, I don't think that Carver will have an operating plane at his camp. I don't think he's THAT well supplied.
I don't know if this is stupid or awesome...
Why would Carver\Carver's goon drive the plane for them? How did he get a plane in a mall? How is this plane working after so long? How can all the survivors fit in the plane? How would they land the plane in an airport swarming with walkers?
i guess both.
Helicopter seems a lot more likely than an airplane.
Not ALL of Carver's henchmen are necessarily irredeemable psychopaths. Hell, we've been given enough info about Bonnie to know she was a somewhat decent human being once.
As I mentioned in my post, the actual plane would be located on a small airfield nearby. (For the record, we're still not sure if Carver's compound is really a mall, or something else.)
You really think Carver wouldn't make sure the plane was locked away in a hangar where the walkers couldn't get to it? Or have a mechanic keep it in working order on regular intervals?
We don't know yet who will be left alive by the time we reach the end of episode 3. A reasonable amount of people can also be fitted into an EMB-110.
It's possible that the plane could just run over walkers as it lands, but as I pointed out in my OP, it would still make for a scary sequence. Like Tyranniac suggested, a helicopter might be more believable, but you can only get 400 miles max out of a normal helicopter without refuelling. It definitely couldn't get you all the way from Virginia to Michigan.
This would be the most epic thing ever, but I can't help but doubt it. I personally think they're going backwards with the time skips in order to mirror those of season 1, with the time skip in between s2 ep1 and e2 being on the same day (like episode 4 and 5 of season 1)
ep2 and ep3 times skip, I suspect, will be a day after (like ep3 and ep4 timeskip of s1) and the group will be settling into the camp and getting to know the new people.
ep3 and ep 4 timeskip being a week (like ep2 and ep3 timeskip of s1) where it shows the overall aftermath of something that happened the week earlier and the ep4 and 5 timeskip being 3 months (like that of ep1 and ep2 of s1) giving them enough time to get to Wellington without an aircraft.
Might I say, aeroplanes do not fail in terms of intensity in cinema.
Except for that weird Langoliers movie.
why can I see this actually happening? haha
Someone said that there are helicopter sounds in the ep.3 slide, so it could happen.
omg I accidently disliked your post. Sorry dude I think your questions are completely valid.

This may be a reason for Lilly to return. As she has experience of fixing aircrafts
Ever heard thing called cars?
I think there'll be a time skip again.
There are no Clementine files for EP5, which could be they are still working on a slightly older model of her for EP5.
'30 years later'
There is a lot of snow in the slide for episode 5, they could be making a model of Clem wearing a winter coat.
