Small but concerning detail?

I just finished a replay of season 2, what we have so far, and there was something that struck me a tad sour. Now when Carver has rounded everyone up and he is making his threats/promises, there is some weird dialog. Or lack there of. When Alvin is taken hostage, and I believe the same can be said of Walter, other group members speak up. But when you go full charge, get whipped by Carver, and held hostage (the protect Alvin option), no one says a damn thing. This may be rather petty, but no one, (besides Kenny really since he then surrenders) says anything to try and help you.

Now maybe fear had a part in that or some other rational reasons, but still. No one is gonna say anything? Again this may be rather petty but I kind of wowed at this.

  • You mean when Clem is being held by Carver and no one comes to her defense? Cause I thought the same, it's like even after you risk your life to protect Alvin, Carlos still sits there like "I'm not getting involved" and no one seems to mind.

I sat there like, "Oh, you assholes. Fuck you guys."

Good job noticing that. Fuck this cabin group, man, i aint doing shit for them in the next episode. They all better be dead by the end of it except for Luke.

  • I thought they were socked that little Clementine had more balls than anyone?

  • Little girl helps older man and is just got hit by Carver and being held hostage.

Cabin Group full of adults apart from Sarah do jack shit.

Kenny then surrenders because he does give a shit.

    Fuck the Cabin Group!

  • Did you gave us downvotes just?

  • Yeah this crossed my mind as well. Ballsy move!

  • Clem took them by surprise by running to Carver. I'm pretty sure that the if someone would try to help Clem would have gotten shot by Troy or Bonnie because they would be on guard this time. Besides only Nick or Sarita would have done something, because Rebecca's pregnant, Carlos is beaten up, Sarah well she's a child and scared so she doesn't count I guess and Alvin is knocked unconscious.

  • My first thought was that it was just shock. But Rebecca says Alvin's name and begs for Kenny to stop shooting.

  • I agree that taking action would have been dumb and futile, but not one person saying a single thing?

  • As I said few times already, I do believe that cabin group is mostly using Clem for dirty work as they dont trust her really. Otherwise why would they all behave so strangely like little kids sending Clem to climb ledders, check houses, ...? I mean if you compare them to season one groups, they are like IQ 0 with no balls on top of it.

PS: I kinda hope this is the case, otherwise it's just bad writing if there is no reason behind this dull behaviour towards 11yo kid.

  • Maybe TT didn't want any speech colliding with Carver's when he was holding Clem idk, but I agree someone should have shouted something atleast

  • I think it's just silent for effect. Being alone with little noise is much more foreboding (imo) than random, vocally illegible screams.

  • I just hate how Sarah is yelling the ENTIRE time, but suddenly when Clem's life is on the line she's like "Meh."

Dammit Sarah, I thought a pinky swear was forever!

Hmm I see multiple reasons in such a situation. First being that the group other than Kenny could care less about Clem including Sarita as she was there also. This is backed by the fact that some still seem to not trust Clem as much.

Another reason could be the shock factor, I mean how do you reply if the smallest person in your group is also a child barges past two armed guards at another armed man holding another in your group hostage. This is very plausible, do to the fact the only ones that seemed screaming capable were Sarah, Rebecca, Nick, and Sarita all of which seem to overreact or seem to get stunned easily.

Now for non story reasons, it could be that the developers just wanted that moment of silence as to build suspense, sort of like a grand pause in any form of classical music.Though in such a situation it now causes an awkward situation like this. An example of a type of situation like this from season one is when Doug yells for Lee to run, but because of how the scene is shot it seems like the walkers turn after Doug screams, even though the game developers were probably thinking otherwise.

Now it is also something to note that in the situation of Carlos being held hostage the only one that really screams for Carver to stop is his daughter, and later depending on your choice Rebecca can reveal herself causing Carver to stop no one else pipes up, and similarly with Alvin the only one to object as he is grabbed is Rebecca, and when he dies Carlos pipes in and you hear a Sarah squeal.

So from this information I'm obliged to believe that it was either a fault on the developers who probably wanted a dramatic silence affect, and or the shock factor, because with Carlos I don't think Nick for example would want Carlos dead or hates him, he's probably just to shocked to say anything like Sarita and Walter, and similarly with Alvin I think Sarah is scared and again I don't think Carlos hates Alvin, neither do I think Nick hates him either or Sarita just a shock factor.

That's my 2 cents on the subject matter
