walking dead tv show, do you think terminus is legit or bad news?

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

that lady at the end of the episode gave off a bad vibe, the place looks too good to be true, its like walking around a really nice neighborhood until you relize you're in a nuclear bomb testing site.

  • i think they might be the hunters, u know the cannibals who ate dale's leg

Brenda and the St. John's dairy seemed like a nice place as well. I don't read the comics but it's The Walking Dead, things always go wrong.

  • I think its bad news because i think people in Terminus are cannibals and that meat Mary was griling was human meat. I just hope none of our surviors eat it...

  • Agreed, actually I hope it is it'll make the finale a lot better. I think they might be cooking up Beth too.

  • There where no people apart from that lady, it seemed really fishy. Id say

  • I gotta say, that lady in the Terminus remindes me Brenda St. John's.

michonne found that portrait two or three (,four, five?) episodes earlier and the woman looks just like mary. foreshadowing?

  • Nice they realy look similar nice find!

  • The one thing I learned in The Walking Dead show and game is that no place is safe. The pharmacy was surrounded by walkers, the motor inn had bandits attacking, St John Dairy farm people were Cannibals, Woodbury was led by a badass psychopathic genius, and the prison was destroyed. Terminus.... something is definitely up. Where is everyone?... In the finale episode shit is going to hit the fan. Just hope Beth's okay :(.

Oh, I just randomly saw some people talk about this and wanted to share it here. :) There was also a picture of a sunflower in the house next to the portrait... and there were real sunflowers when the group entered terminus. It all kinda adds up at the moment. I just hope they are not cooking and going to eat Beth... it would be awful - especially because Maggie is there. D:

Nice they realy look similar nice find!

  • Of course I know the hunters

  • BETH FAN WOOOOOOOO

Sorry, it's just a bit weird seeing Beth fans when she gets so much hate. She's my favorite character on the show.

  • I don't get the Beth hate, shes a minor character at least was for a long time. Its actually interesting that she gets a bit more screen time in season 4.

  • There's.... Beth haters? Wow I never knew. Awesome character imo. I love the part where she sings beautifully while playing on the piano and Daryl is falling asleep in the coffin. She's one of my favorite characters :D.

  • Shiieeetttt, how is rick and his gang gonna make it through this?

  • She's a traditionally feminine girl with realistically portrayed mental illness who is headstrong and brave despite her support role, instead of a zombie slaughtering badass STRONG WOMAN TM. Dudes (and it's almost entirely dudes who rag on her in my experience) seem to prefer the latter over a woman who knows who she is, where she stands, has her own demons, and doesn't mind telling a man to fuck off, and who may or may not be a heroic warrior. Beth gets it extra hard because of the support role; Maggie might be similarly headstrong and tells men to go to hell, but "at least she contributes."

I made the mistake of reading comment sections on the reviews of S4E12 "Still" and it was just gross.

  • She has a mental illness? And I definitely agree with everything you said.

  • I read her as suffering from depression and some form of anxiety disorder. It's why she's so mission oriented, imo. She's also strong as hell because despite dealing with those (and they are destructive, dealing with them myself) and the stress of being a ZA survivor, she's still optimistic and hopeful.

  • Ah I see. I respect her even more now! I hope you get through that stuff. :)

I've been saying this ever since the signs started showing up, Terminus is a trap set by the hunters. The put the signs up to lure people there, then they capture them and eat them, this is about the point in the comics when the Hunters are supposed to show up, so it makes perfect sense. Even if it isn't them, then I don't think that it will be a good place. Alexandria is coming soon-ish, so why introduce another sanctuary into the story?

I think it's got to be the hunters, definitely.

Oh, and for those who don't know, the hunters are cannibals who ate their own children, and then hunted down other human beings as their main source of food. They ate Dale's leg as well. Personally, I think that the St. Johns were better villains by far, but still, the hunters were pretty cool.

  • Who are your other 4? Beth is like my 3rd so my first is Rick and my second is Carol

    1. Rick
    2. Glenn
    3. Maggie
    4. Daryl
    5. Beth

    Those are my top five.

  • And gabriel stokes has an agreement with them?

  • Thanks. And yeah, she gets a lot of crap for not being a strong character, but she's seriously one of the strongest on the show. Bugs me that people think Daryl's rant against her is an adequate judgment on her. Sure, it's what she thinks about herself (talking about how people who shouldn't have died did and she who should have died survived), but that doesn't make it true. She treats it as true, though, but keeps going. It's impressive.

Ah I see. I respect her even more now! I hope you get through that stuff.

  • Maggie used to be my top fave, but then Still aired and Beth became my all time fave. Rivaling Clem's awesomeness, which was only completely cemented for me in S2E1 where she's explaining to Nick and Luke about how she is a danger to groups and everything. Self-aware, self-deprecating, bitter, and still pushes forward.

  • CREAPY lady at terminus be like: Let me fix you a plate... OF HUMAN!!!

I think terinus is canible people... worse than woodberry.

  • Beth really has started getting to me more lately, just please, stop with the constant singing. Sometimes it fits the mood, sometimes it doesn't and i don't feels she knows when it fits. Almost getting her killed for a drink was a little silly though.

Its almost certainly the cannibals, the question is who are they eating. I feel Beth would be too predictable. I still assume its maggie thats dying in the finale

But most fans (i believe) watch the show as well and there is no community as good as this for The Walking Dead so why wouldn't we be able to discuss the show here when it's only like 1 out of 30-40 threads and only once or twice a week?

Pszt... This is an gaming community and i don't care about the show.

  • Lee's gonna burst through the door; "DON'T EAT THAT!/IT'S PEOPLE!"

I think its bad news because i think people in Terminus are cannibals and that meat Mary was griling was human meat. I just hope none of our surviors eat it...

  • Yup, it is definitely the Hunters. Every single piece fits together. Issue to Show time it is just about time for them to show up, the picture Michonne found and the resemblance with Mary, the sunflower picture and the sunflowers at Terminus, the lack of people, open gates, Beth's sudden disappearing, HUGE barbecue grills, the level of creepy friendliness in Mary's face. For me this is clear as crystal and i am so eager to find out how the finale will turn out and what the cliffhanger will leave us with. I heard somewhere that Kirkman had apparently confirmed this season finale to be a cliffhanger.

  • I pretty sure they are either stupid or bad guys trying to ambush them I mean why was their no guards or locks on the gate? I think they are the cannibals trying to ambush them makes me worry that we're gonna find beth missing a body part but I think she is with father Gabriel.

  • I'm thinking maybe tara. she was wounded anyway, it's obvious she had no will to live, and she wasn't in the comics.

In my opinion, this sneak peak is foreshadowing the events to come. Especially with Rick showing Carl and Michonne how the trap works. The way he explains it sounds an awful lot like a scaled down metaphor of the signs that we have been seeing all over the railroads and such. So yeah, I'm betting on that Terminus is just bad news.

Truthfully, there rarely is any "good" news in 'The Walking Dead' universe.

Maybe we'll see 'The Hunters', since their story is due to be included. But if they do show up, I'm expecting a different version of them. Similar to how Lizzie and Mika were AMC's flipped versions of Ben and Billy from the comics, as may make them out to be more cult-like based on this shot from the promo:

At this point, I just hope that Beth is okay. The past couple of episodes have restored some of my faith in the TV show, and I'm finding myself actually becoming excited about the finale. Scott Gimple is definitely cleaning up Season 3's mess. Andrea's character was wasted...

  • Terminus just looks too good to be true. I agree with the cannibal theory too. It's AMC screwing with us again! Leaving us on the edge of our seats until October with another cliff hanger!

  • Someone who's still alive in the comics will apparently die in the finale.
