Carver, threat or saint?
Is Carver actually an crazed maniac, or is he a good guy, with some issues?
-He killed Walter cold blood... after Kenny shot Johnny
-He wanted Rebeccas baby, cause he's concern about her/babys safety?
-Did he tried to manipulate Clem, or warn her? (You don't have no idea who these people are?)
-Why did Luke, Pete, Carlos, etc left his camp?
-Did he killed those scavengers by the river, and why?
And he said to Carlos that he shouldn't have followed Luke, so was Luke the man behind this escape and why HE wanted to leave? Any thoughts... and sorry if there's already thread about this.

He may not be a crazed maniac, but he's certainly not a good guy. He seems more like the guy, who would do whatever it takes to achieve his goals. He might not be willing to do all this horrible stuff, but sometimes he just has to. As for the group's escape, I can't say anything yet, we'll have to wait and see.
P.S: BTW, Clem is "her", not "him".
maybe i should fix that? :P
Maybe you should.
Saints don't execute innocent people in an act of retaliation. Pick another word.
You know what's definition of saint?
Michael Madsen
He's callous and utterly ruthless, no doubt about that. But a maniac? I don't think so.
He's certainly not a saint, Whether he is a complete psychopath I guess we'll find out.
He is a maniac !!
Pay more attention what Melissa says, next time. Not Greg Miller. She said Carver is the worst.
I feel like Carver is not trying to be a bad guy. He is truthfully a bad guy in our eyes but I think he thinks what he is doing is a good thing.
Carver is crazy
Yeah, it feels like he has a god/messiah complex with is quasi-religious talk in the preview.
Miller? F- that guy, and you should start using that brain of your's and have opinion of your own.
hes the governor.
Saint. My. Ass
Actually Carver is both a saint and a threat. He's a saint to those who welcome his "love" and a threat to those who oppose it.
It's either you're with him or against him.
AKA Realpolitik
What? Melissa Hutchison, voice of Clementine, said that Carver is the worst. Sure, I can use my brain and imagine he's a good uncle Bill, but it won't be true.
Defining the bad guy isn't easy. some of the best bad guys have layers to them, a reason why they are bad, why the person justify hurting people to themselves. There also bad guys who aren't in their right minds. Those types are mental sick; sociopaths and psychopath. Whoever the bad guy is you usually see that person thou the eyes of the victims. You want the victims to escape/ beat the bad guy. Its never really thro the bad guys point of view.
Now Carver; I don't know, he has no problem hurting people to get what he wants. He isn't crazy, he is smart and ruthless - he broke down a chess game 3 moves ahead. he might be a Sociopath, if he is I feel really sorry for Rebecca, Sociopaths don't feel love so what ever he has for her can't be a good thing. We will see Carver throu other people eyes, we play thro Clememtine so we might not see a clear picture of who Carver is. He isn't a saint thro. he differently a threat, throu who he is might not be shown.
He's no maniac, but he's far from a good guy.
Carver's going to end up fucking up everyone in his slave camp he's got going on, the previews do not show all the answers.
He murdered Walt.
He murdered Alvin.
And he held Sarita at gunpoint.
He is a "clear and present danger."
He killed Walter in cold blood!
Carver probably thinks of himself as a saint. He seems like the person who follows the mindset that "the ends justify the means" and he's willing to go to whatever means to get those ends. He's an obsessive, meticulous, murdering megalomaniac and clearly very emotionally manipulative. But he's also pretty clever. The cabin/ski lodge survivors outnumbered Carver's group by a whopping seven and he still managed to wrangle them all (well... almost all of them) and take them back to his camp. He knows how to work people.
Now it's entirely possible that he runs a safe and successful camp, but it's through a combination of careful strategy, charisma, and manipulation.
Carver is a good strategist. Not a good person.
That's what I'm saying.
The guy's is dangerous.
He's just like The Governor.
He's like Jim Jones, trying to paint himself as a messiah of sorts, but he's really another Adolf Hitler in the making.
If good old Herschel described the kind of man Carver is, he'd probably quote the Bible at Matthew 7:15 which states: "Beware of false profits, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inside they are raving wolves." (King James Version)
I remembered one time Herschel and Merle were talking in the episode "I ain't a Judas", while at the prison, and they both quoted a bible verse, when discussing each others missing limbs.
It doesnt matter if he's a good strategists, or not.
What matters is what kind of person he is.
And like you said, he's not a good one.
Agreed.
