Is Kenny still... Kenny?

I mean as in something's different. During the second episode (season 2) there are comments about Kenny being different, but is this actually hinting at something? The zombie apocalypse should be enough to drive anyone crazy (another theory I'll get to at another time), but is the Kenny we know gone? I feel that in the next episode we'll see another side of Kenny, where the insanity building up inside of him will be released.

I pretty much know that we'll have a choice that will determine Kenny's fate, but will it be a situation where we think we've made the right choice by saving our old friend when really he'll turn completely insane. I hope not because my head is already spinning.

Thanks for reading! :)

  • Well Clem has seen a lot too, but she seems in general the same, just older and braver. So maybe kenny is the same, but he does seem different to me.

  • Know I'll get hate but Kenny was never an "old friend" to me anyway. He left my Lee to die numerous times and refused to help me find clem despite me helping him and his family on numerous occasions apart from two, murdering an old man and murdering a teenager.

To me he was always a rash and aggressive guy who held a grudge way too long and treated Lee like dirt. He cared about his family sure but I never liked him past S1 ep 2 . Clem (I'm) not holding a grudge either going into season 2 but an amount of time and one last moment in season 1 hasnt made me think Kenny is some saint I loved.

  • Kenny is no longer Kenny. He's Bob.

  • He's different, for sure. He's just a little TOO happy if you catch my drift. All the jokes and weird, awkward laughter is just unsettling, and this isn't even getting into the whole Sartia=Katjaa Clem=Duck thing.

  • He'll get there.

  • I had the opposite Kenny, haha. He was always there for my Lee and help look for Clementine. I always felt bad for him, so I guess my connection with the character is stronger because of that! :)

He isn't the same anymore, i can agree on that. He is still depressed about Katja and Duck's death's. (and obviously, also about Lee's)

But for me, that's even more reason to side with him. My old friend Kenny, who was always there for me when i needed him, needs my support more than ever now! I will help him get though this hard times!

  • He still gets angry easily so yes. The only thing we need to confirm he is still Kenny is when he starts drinking when he is in a bad situation. :D

  • Well, everyone would react differntly in a world of dead. I 'll say Kenny is pretty snapped, but not crazy way... just "i've lost everything from the past but got this new (hotter than my wife was)hot chick to protect so i wont lose my sanity yet, SCORE' way. He's still same awesome durtbag.

Well then, looks like I've got some confirmation:

I found this in the files a few days after A House Divided came out and I posted about it in a thread- I think it was a thread by Senhorcreeper.. unfortunately, I also found this:

  • He has PTSD and survivor's guilt.

    There, mystery solved.

  • Would you stop posting game files without a spoiler tag?

  • Oh...sorry. I'll try to remember that from now on.

  • I know that. I just meant will his guilt advance into something greater? Something worse? :)

  • I dunno I'd put money on him killing a bunch of people and being especially ruthless when it comes to protecting Clem and/or Sarita.

  • Wut?

Is Clementine still the same person she was in Season One? People tend to change when terrible things happen to them. Despite Kenny putting on a show like everything is back to normal. it's clear he's having difficulty coping. I would say he's coming unhinged or anything, but time and trauma take their toll.
