I would grow to hate Clementine if she was bothered by homosexual people. If someone is homophobic enough to hate gay people while the world has gone to shit... they have a real problem.
Racism and homophobia didn't come from some alien, they are fear reactions towards people who are different from you and hence a potential danger. I can see that such things may come up between people who couldn't trust each other to begin with.
I doubt that Clementine would be "disgusted" by them being a couple as she has never been around any homophobic people as far as i am aware,… more She might be slightly confused at first as she has only been around heterosexual people (unless she met any homosexual survivors during the 16 month time skip), she seems like a nice and understanding person so i don't think the would be too bothered by it.
I don't ship anyone with Clem because the only people she knows are a good bit over 18. I don't get why people ship her with Carl either. Sure they are close in age but they haven't even fucking met and people are already planning their marriage...

I thought it was telling in season 1 where you could have something like a crush on Carly and can clearly tell these two would have wanted to go out and go dating with one another, but acknowledged that it wasn't a good time and they should wait because of how they had to focus on survival. It was maybe not even a full year in either so they still had some hope that there was an end in sight.
But anyways romance wasn't really on the front of anyone's mind and it wasn't on the front of mine either. I do like romance and shipping but I really like the super cheesy and sappy stuff that I don't think you'd find in The Walking Dead. I'd just go to another series if I wanted to feel the love.
That aside I find it super uncomfortable that people are trying to pair Clementine and Luke, because she's a little girl. The only person I think that could have come close to having what would be a "romance" is Duck, and even then it'd be like a gradeschool crush. Kind of like how I had a boyfriend when I was 11 and all we did was hold hands and play video games. I think Clementine would have to find someone her age and not feel misanthropic (which is hard 2 years in).
I have nothing against Nick/Luke but Nick is kind of insufferable on his own and he just never seems all there, and feels like an overgrown child.

I'm just against the idea of shipping in TWD in general, unless it is extremely well done and makes sense. Honestly I think Clem would be far too interested in surviving to think about anything else.

ItsGabee used the word "disgusted." "Disgusted" doesn't meant mild discomfort. It indicates a certain level of hatred. Don't rag on Juice_Box over semantics in paraphrasing because you know exactly what they meant here.
I can't stand the sappy stuff in any medium, I find it boring and uncomfortably cheesy, so I agree with you there that when people add that stuff into TWDG it feels immensely out of place and really weird. But I do still ship characters. When I ship something I want it to be sad and gross and gritty and toxic, and that's because I'm a creep who enjoys seeing my favorite characters be miserable. So I can justify a lot of these and make them feel fitting, but the problem is that I just can't enjoy a lot of the stuff other fans create because it just makes me roll my eyes.
Also I tend to ship same sex stuff because it's nice to imagine having LGBT characters that don't die in the same episode they're introduced. Walt and Matt were cool characters--and really kind-hearted--but we still barely knew them and that makes them difficult to relate to.
But yeah that being said there's really just no place for romance in Clementine's life right now and it's disgusting to imply she and Luke would ever have anything between them other than a platonic friendship.
Great, yet another person trying to imply that the concept of two consenting adult men in a relationship is just as horrendous and disgusting as pedophilia.
This whole "Cluke" thing reminds me of Ib,and indie game where pretty much EVERYONE ships the little 9 years old protagonist with the only other uman in the game that protects her,Garry, wich is actually 20 years old. In both case I just feel wrong when people talk about that stuff. I mean,it's just a bro and sis relationship.

Just putting it out there, ships don't necessarily have to be of the romantic type. So people can ship Nuke and Cluke without wanting them to bang or anything, but rather just a very close friendship. Though I agree, I don't really get the hype about him. I mean yeah, there was the scene in episode 1 where you tell him about Lee, but then in the beginning he throws her to the ground and gets pissy if Clem admits to killing the dog. Maybe he just didn't have as huge of an impact on me as Pete and Nick because they weren't thrown into a life and death situation together. To me, he's just the guy who was a mistrustful bastard who suddenly wanted to be besties after she beat down a zombie in a locked shed. (And honestly, if we're rating the characters on attractiveness, he would would most definitely not be on the top of my list.)
I guess I can somewhat understand why people like him so much, because he was kind of the first one to trust us besides Pete, but I just don't know, his automatic want to be her best friend kind of comes off as slightly creepy to me. (I think I'm just feeling protective of Clementine though, like 'Back off dude, Clementine has Lee!')
Plus, given her age when it all started, she probably has little to no idea and/or interest in that sort of stuff. I think even if it was well thought out and developed it would still feel out of character for me. I just don't see Clementine knowing much about it. (Probably just the 'basics' and even then it's possible she wasn't even told that. Though I think given Christa's past condition, it would've come up eventually.)
I'm not addressing ItsGabee's comment, I'm specifically discussing Juice Box's statement. They didn't specifically use the word disgusted, but used "bothered". There is such a difference in those words that it was safe to assume that Juice_Box wasn't directly referencing the word disgust with their comment, but was speaking within the general conversation regarding negativity Clem might have towards homosexuality.

The first time I actually went onto Rule 34 was because of this website. There was that whole topic about it screaming, 'OHMY DHAO DONT SEARCH IT DONT IM SCARRED'
And of course I thought everyone was just being a bunch of pussies, so I went on and saw a certain picture of Molly with /ahem/ male parts and Clementine. I haven't been back since. I'm normally not opposed to what turns people on, (You know, as long as the freaky stuff is just fictional and they don't try it in real life.) But even though she's not real, I felt my heart clench and I was actually seething with rage for a week afterwards.
Both of these ships are annoying to me, one because it's baseless and the other because it's gross, but if you've been on tumblr anytime recently for walking dead game related things, it gets even weirder. People making up head-canons like Clem is a transexual girl....not that there's anything wrong with it, but there's absolutely nothing to indicate that in the story. It's just a ton of nonsense, at least with shipping I understand why fans do it, but with making up random stuff about the characters that has nothing to do with the story, i'm not seeing the appeal.
Yeah... although I am proud of those who made Clementine over 18 in some of them but seriously... it's fucking disgusting and it makes me feel uncomfortable.
You'd be surprised how young some kids can feel crushes for someone else. I had my first kiss when I was 6 and it did give me butterflies in my stomach. I also had similar feelings at 10 and on, so I don't think she's too old for it. It's just love is a much simpler thing at that age, not nearly as mature. I think she's definitely old enough to have a crush on someone.

Well, there's Sarah, but even Sarah's got a good couple of years on Clem and that still makes it feels a little off to me.
Yeah but Clem's out of Sarah's league.
Fuck luke the moter
The funny thing is Sarah's so repressed that Clementine seems kind of older and more mature than her.

Exactly.
Bothered =/= hate. You can have a problem with something or find the subject uncomfortable without hating it.
I'm just against the idea of shipping in TWD in general, unless it is extremely well done and makes sense. Honestly I think Clem would be far too interested in surviving to think about anything else.
Yeah, there's really nothing about the setting that feels very romantic.

I actually thought about it too, especially because one of my best friends used to ship them and I got so pissed. I used to love this game.
Anyone who steals from my station wagon is a homophobic pedophile-apologist.
