Did you show Sarah how to use a gun? by the end of episode 2 I am glad I did, but it might have ill effects on Carlos. what do you guys think? or did you stay out of it?

  • She didnt even ask me cause I didnt go through with her weird pinkie swear. Honestly I doubt giving her a few pointers is going to make too much difference. She dosnt fire a bullet or anything.

I am so glad that I did, only because this exchange brought a tear to my eye:

Clementine: Remember, it's just a thing.
    Sarah: What does that mean?
    Clementine: I don't know.

Followed by whatever the lesson was you taught Clem in the boxcar.

  • Yea, in second time. I'm calm now just because words: "you teached sarah how to shoot"

  • yes but if might save Sarah's life, but makes Carlos hate you.

  • I don't care what Carlos thinks, if he doesn't teach Sarah to defend herself she will die.

  • Yep i was exactly the same, as soon as Clem said it's just a thing it putt a huge smile on my face.

  • Probably for the best, she's annoying

  • I think teaching her will be a good thing, sure Carlos will be mad but he would be even madder if she dies. Personally I didn't teach her, I thought it would be inappropriate and she would probably just miss anything she shot at. Bet that's gonna bite me in the ass later.

  • Hopefully there's a scene where she saves someone. Like when Lizzie saved Tyrese in the show.

  • I didn't teach her, because while I'm sure she means well, I thought she might shoot herself or some other innocent person by mistake. It's enough to have to worry about Nick doing that.

  • In the moment I didn't teach her because I didn't want to betray Carlos' trust.

  • so in your play through Carlos trusted you from the 1st episode, you didn't get in between them.

  • you do have a point. I am sure if you told her it wasn't a toy she would listen. but even if you did, she doesn't know how to aim the gun, she still needs practise

I apologized to him and since he said not to make any more mistakes I decided to not take Sarah's picture and to not give her a few pointers about the gun. Although I did lie to him about taking the picture.

Wait, you can actually show her how to shoot the gun? I told her that her dad should decide but I figured that either way you see Carver show up nearly immediately.

I mean, you guys really trust her with a gun? She can't seem to handle anything, including reality. I bet she's going to end up shooting Kenny or something if you taught her.

  • Don't forget about the positive possibilities! Say someone is getting attacked (maybe even Clem). Starting Sarah's gun training might make a huge difference... namely like how much button tapping we do.

  • I did, only because I think that there's a slight chance Sarah is going to have to shoot a walker or some shit later on to have herself or someone. Carlos might hate me for it but she does need to know how to defend herself.

  • That is possible, but maybe there is a good reason that Carlos doesn't want to involve her in any responsibilities? I mean she seems prone to full blown panic attacks for starters.

Plus right after I told her to ask her dad, she goes and points the damn gun at my face. Breaks the most important damn gun safety rule, I was glad my intuition to say no was right.

  • True, she does that regardless whether you show her or not, but still. Can't we all agree that Sarah's going to end up using a gun eventually? Maybe she ends up defending herself from somebody. Who knows how whether or not showing her how to use a gun will either help us or hinder us.

  • Yeah, after she had it pointed at directly at Clem's face. Stupid.

  • I thought it best to teach her, if for no other reason that she at least knows how to properly fire a gun. Can't afford ignorant rookie mistakes in the zombie apocalypse.

I also found the bit where Clem reuses Lee's advice when teaching Sarah. Specially the "hold a breath before firing" bit. Not quite that big of a breath, Sarah. ^_^'

  • I'm kind of pissed I didn't get that scene.. I stayed silent and didn't pinkie swear sarah because i didn't want to get another commitment and her using that on me all the time.

  • I did not teach her. She was treating it like a toy and had no idea what the term "gun safety" meant. Right after I told her I wasn't going to teach her, she proved me right by shoving the gun in Clem's face. Loaded or not, that is one of, if not the biggest No-No's when handling a gun. Until she learns it's not something that you should be playing with ever, I'm not teaching her. Hell, it seems like the only person who knows how to properly use a firearm in the Cabin Crew was Uncle Pete, which sucks for them because he's dead now.

  • I showed her. then I regretted it. when she pointed the gun at Clem's face :/

  • LEEEEE

  • Yes.

I don't care if Carlos gives me shit for it. Your daughter getting her face chewed off when she's cornered without knowing how to defend herself isn't going to preserve her innocence, dad.
