Everyone has real life reference. Basically, the writers tell the concept artists "I'm picturing someone that looks like this guy,." Then the concept artists go look at photos of that person and come up with a character inspired by that. Nick's appearance looks like it was based off someone a writer/designer knows in real life, not a celebrity - so I can't share that info.
And yes, Luke was always supposed to be a good looking dude.
So.. it was completely intentional to make Luke handsome then, if they were basing him on Ryan Kwanten? Interesting.
I wonder if Nick had any real-life reference.

he was originally wearing Nick's hat, and his current hair was actually Nick's hair.
Kinda like this rushed mock-up I made?
Does this mean Nick originally had Luke's hair and looked kinda like this?
That's very interesting, thanks for the insight! I kinda assumed all the characters had real-life references after I saw the guy who was a reference for Eddie on Tumblr (they didn't change his appearance at all!).
I'm glad they do it this way, it makes the characters look more realistic and believable.

Oh cool! =D from now on, I'm going to call him Sir Carver Junior.
So he can become Clem's love interest later on, right? Right?!
I was just wondering, was Clementine based off of a girl you guys knew while developing episode one? I'm just curious about it. Thanks!
No.
I think she was, it was talked about in a Game Informer article awhile back.
No.
Ahhh ok I see it now thanks! And yea I understand (Btw love your job! Being an animator for Telltale must be amazing! Keep up your incredible work!)
he looks like pewdiepie
It might just be because i'm used to Luke and Nick looking, well, the way that they do, but I think it was a good decision to not give Luke a hat.
... That might be why I don't trust him.
(?) Luke will remember that

Not sure if serious...
NEVER!!!
That I do not know the answer to, as Clementine was developed long before I was on the project.
