What's the cause of your demise?

edited April 2014 in The Walking Dead

I had a conversation with a great user, Lee4ever. At the beginning of which I half-jokingly said he would die in the apocalypse due to his/her reasoning of "No matter how bad to me all life matters." To which I said I would also die, but not because of my reverence for life. So I got to thinking... which of my personal faults would get me killed? I'd like to think it would be my moral code that would get me killed. Say, for instance, a child were in danger - then I would probably put their life before my own.

What personality trait would be your undoing?

EDIT: For clarification I'm not referring to a specific event or situation that you would die in, but the cause of why you're in that situation/event. The mindset that got you screwed in the first place.

  • My cluelessness would be my undoing. I can't repair anything, I can't build anything, I can't even cook, let alone start a fire. If the zombies wouldn't get me, I would die of my own uselessness.

  • Damn Viva some people really hate you.

  • Haha yes they do.

  • Why so many dislikes?

Anyways, i dunno. My morale ain't shit, but i am pretty sure what would get me killed HAS to be my clumsiness. Like, if i just let the gun fall and stare at dem advancing zambies.

  • it's his anti-kenny stance. I guarantee it.

  • Your comment made me chuckle. On the bright side if you find a country friend you'd be set.

  • I lack common sense, so yeah i will die pretty quickly.

  • Haha just watch your doom approach :O

  • I'd bet money on that!

  • Karma and irony would probably kill me off.

  • Come to think of it, that might do me in before my moral code...

  • XD

I know, right. I will start like a bauss and fail like a faggot.

  • probably my concentration would get me into trouble just zone out sometimes no not drugs related btw you sound like dexter morgan with the moral code and saving kids :)

  • The thing that would cause my doom would probably be my very high kindness, I would probably put anyones life ahead of my own, and I have a hard time saying no to doing favors, so people would probably be able to put me in the most dangerous situations, and despite being quite handy there is probably only a limited amount of luck before something gets me.

Various tendencies in a world where they can hardly be repressed. Oh, and probably the fact that I have little knowledge on survival matters.

So ignorance and not always playing nice.

  • Being over cautious would be my downfall. I tend to over analyze situations and not take risks.

  • Karma is a bitch they say.

Karma and irony would probably kill me off.

  • So a lack of concentration then? :p

Never seen Dexter, looks good. Should I take that as a compliment of diss? Haha.

  • I would actually consider that a good trait in the zombie apocalypse, Seeing you most likely would try and avoid the zombies instead of confronting them and thus most likely making you live longer.

  • I have a tendency to hesitate and wait things out rather than act. It might cause me to miss out on something that could have saved me or slow my reaction to a dangerous situation. Also, I'm just don't have that many survival skills.

  • Haha yeah atleast I got that going for me. which is nice :)

I don't think I'd be able to just let people go, even if I'd have to do something obscenely stupid.

Buddy getting piled on by hordes of zombies? I wouldn't just keep running, I'd be right up in there trying to tear them off. I wouldn't be able to see people as expendable.

That Dale quote...paraphrased, "I may not be the type of person who lasts long in this world, but at least I didn't let it take me with it."

  • RIP Dale. You were a good man.

Funny that Shane, who was supposed to be a good fit for this world by Dale's accounts, didn't actually live much longer than Dale :p

  • Old age as I will survive this shit

  • Definitely the lack of survival skills. I rely so much on technology to find information and then forget it right after. One thing I wouldn't have problem with is moral dilemma/guilt/sensitivity about doing weird things to survive. But I just wouldn't have the knowledge.

  • You sure you won't die from being too confident? :P

Old age as I will survive this shit

  • I'd probably starve after the microwave stopped working.

  • Weakness, probably. Heh.
Or even if I find a group, my good heart would screw me over. :p

  • My inaction. I'd probably opt to wait things out and end up starving to death in my house or wherever I am.

  • My general strength would be what gets me killed. I can run pretty damn far and do a helluva lot of pushups, but I'm genetically skinny so I'm not strong at all. If a walker would surprise attack me from around a corner, Im pretty much fucked.

  • In my case, my illness would be my demise: I have diabetes. So I guess I would live on borrowed time either way, at least until my insulin reserve runs out.

Granted, this doesn't mean the walkers wouldn't get me by then. Moral code aside, I don't even have the slightest clue about survival matters. This reminds me back in ep 1 when Clem and Christa were in the woods trying to light the fire, I remember I kept saying to myself:"Damn, I don't think I could even do that."

  • Yeah... Well, the other thing is strictly my fault:). Relying too much on technology will do that to you.

On a side note, Viva, you may be onto something here! This thread may serve as a wake up call for people to start learning basic survival skills! Starting tomorrow, everyone should learn how to build a fire and tie fishing knots.

  • I'm not entirely sure to be honest. I can see myself surviving for a long time, but I need someone else to point out my flaws because I can't see them (Survival wise)
