I know everyone is joking about how terrible of a doctor Carlos is, but today I was thinking, what if he actually isn't a doctor? What if, like Eugene in the comics, he lies to the people, telling them he's a doctor so they'll value him and deem him useful. Then it gets discovered when Rebecca is about to have her baby and she asks Carlos to help, but he doesn't want to mess it up so he reveals the truth. It would certainly be interesting for the story.

I'm sure that they will already have a doctor at Carver's place. They might ditch the whole thing
The only thing we've seen him do wrong is not recognise a dog bite. He's not a vet and when something savages you that badly you wouldnt be able to tell anyway. Not to mention the lack of dogs, the groups past experiences and Clem being a complete stranger influencing there decision.
Despite this we havnt really seen him do anything else medical. An others comments about intelligence come from other things. So honestly he might be a great doctor we havnt seen him do anything.

Maybe. But Carlos seems physically capable enough that such deception hardly seems necessary - but you never know I guess.
i don't really think carlos is a bad doctor like everyone says, sure he messed up with clem but how would he know it was a dog, sure it looked like a dog bite but who knows after all the communication with the rest of the world is gone there was also the fear that clem was working for carver too. also i don't know how not knowing how to turn a windmill off is being a bad doctor :P
In defence of Carlos not able to tell between a zombie bite and a dog bite. its not really explain the changes that the human body goes thro when they become a walker. their teeth could change including the impressions, the marks they left behind on the thing the zombie bites.
As for a Doctor, well there are other ways to get a that title, "doctor" doesn't belonged to a person with a medical degree. it can be given to people with a honorary degree in arts or other things.
