This question bugs me every so often.

I know Kirkman won't say how the virus started, sooooo yeah.

    the people that died before that are already dead turned to walkers, it's real simple :P

    Thousands of people die everyday in the US, everyone who died after the ZA began turned and bit everyone else.

    I thought people who died already didn't come back since they weren't likely infected with whatever the virus is. Either way, this post and the one above this seems to be the most logical answer I can find on this topic.
