He's the one being bashed up by Carver. Clem is the only witness, Carver threatens her. He tells her "Tell Sarah her father is ... busy". And she does. Carver throws his body outside his camp. Later in the episode (days/weeks has passed for Clem ?), the Storm hits the camp and Clem goes outside for whatever reason, she finds Carlos' body like we saw in that screenshot (with Clem painting her body with the blood from a dead walker with a checkered red shirt).
Actually, there's still a possibility. For Season One, the trailer for Episode 2 came out the day before (or the exact same day) the episode was released. There's still a chance, very small chance, but hey we can't help!
