I thought that we could make our own backstories for characters that weren't fully explored on their backstory. I'll do a character every week. This week's character is Doug! You can make her backstory however you like. A serious backstory, and funny backstory. How ever you want it to be.

Doug was never well liked. He was smart, but his awkwardness when dealing with others alienated most who approached him. His intelligence further pushed away any prospective friends, causing Doug to spend most of his life more or less alone, secluded while surrounded by others. To pass the time and take his mind off of his deteriorating social life, he threw himself into his schoolwork, eventually graduating from school at the top of his class. Although he was gifted, his family was unable to come up with the money to send him to a good college, shattering Doug's dreams of the future. With no true friends he could count on, Doug decided to move south and work at his Uncle's store as a tech assistant, earning the money he would need for tuition one agonizing dollar at a time. His skills brought success to his uncle's business and the required money was raised much more quickly than expected. Swiftly accepted into UGA, Doug was preparing to attend the next semester one it began when the dead began to walk, once again depriving any hope he had of a normal and successful future.
Doug was super cute!

I totally disagree with you, I think Doug's character is based on a 80s television show. You may of heard of it. It involves action, romance, high drama. He is MacGyver. He can take a toothpick and some dental floss and disarm a nuclear bomb. He liked Carly but he was more into himself, trying to fix the world with dental floss, one nuclear bomb at a time.
So sad, not only he gets abondned over a fictional female character...he is getting reduced to a stalker...poor thing T_T;
Its all telltale's fault...He was supposed to have same spotlight as Carley but they had to write those part out. Heck I didnt even know he was there until Kenny called him.
His father was a workless piece of shit, and Doug never loved him, in fact hated him very much, even as a little kid iin kindergarten.
When he came to school, no one wanted to play with him, because he first was very nerdy and second because they were afraid of his dad.
He was very lonely, but wasn't bothered by it that much
His father never treated him better, or worse.
Regular hits were normal for Doug and his mom, and he learned not to become a attention seeker, as he was sure it would end up the same as if he seeked the attention of his dad.
That he would be hit and laughed at for no apparent reason.
Doug became older, and his love for computers became clear.
He loved to work with them, as they had no personality and wouldn't hit him in the face because he spoke to them.
It didn't exactly help him get more friends, but Doug was fine with that.
When he came to highschool, he was bothered by his loneliness for the first time.
He wanted a girlfriend, just like everybody else, but noone really liked him.
He also wasn't part of any groups, and it really upset him.
At home, he knew he wouldn't find help.
His dad's drinking problem had become worse, the man only stood up for dinner or for hitting his family.
And one day, everything added up.
Doug totally flipped out when his das hit his mom again for no reason at all.
He hit his hated father in the face and threw the toaster at him. His father was shocked, never had anything like that ever happened to him.
He came towards Doug, threatening and cursing him.
Doug lost it and beat the wasted man up like a total psycho.
His dad was bought to hospital, later custody becausr of his abusive nature.
Doug also came into custody for a short while, and when he came out, his mother didn't want to have anything to do with him anymore, which he couldn't quite understand, but accepted.
He moved to his uncle in Macon and worked for the IT there. He tried to socialise a little more, but still didn't succeed.
After a while, the apocalypse started.
When Doug made his way out of Macon, he saw a news reporter getting eaten alive, while another reporter screamed her lungs out and was paralysed.
He finally took all his courage and went for the rescue.
He pulled the reporter out of the van and kicked a walker in the face in the progress.
While chaos was around them, he introduced himself, and the reporter did, too.
Her name was Carley.
They wanted to flee the city, but it was too late, and so they took cover in a old pharmacy, were they met a military woman and her dad, Lilly and Larry, and a korean guy, Glenn.
