It makes him seem like an idiot, yep. Does it make him an idiot? Nope.
Carlos was in charge? So does that mean only he is allowed to say where everyone goes, and no-one else can speak up and say 'why are you making an 11 year old do this...'? It's just bad writing/plot.
Actual character stupidity would be if it turned out carlos wasn't a doctor. Or if you don't know how to put in batteries the right way round.
There's no point in discussing whether carlos is stupid unless you can offer me actual examples such as carley not knowing how to put in batteries, that happen outside of main plot and bad writing. Moments where we are *intended* to think 'Carlos is an idiot...' and not where it's a side effect of plot.
The bite does make him seem like an idiot. That's like a mechanic who doesn't know how to fix a car, a pilot who doesn't know how to fly a h… moreelicopter, or a police officer who doesn't know how to shoot a gun. I'm beginning to have little faith in his medical abilities.
I'll take your word for the "little house" being bad writing, but it still did not do his character any favors.
Carlos was the one in charge after Kenny and Luke left and that's what he does when he's leading? Letting a little girl turn off an out of control wind turbine? Luke being the one to lead the group out of Carver's camp is starting to make more sense every passing moment.
The entire cabin group trust each other, so what?
Rebecca doesn't have a choice because Carlos is the only "doctor" they have.
Carlos hasn't really done anything to indicate that he's intelligent.
Yes, Carlos was in charge. Who else could have spook up? Sarita the non-confrontational person, Nick and his incompetence or Clem, the 11 year old girl?
You're right I suppose on CIS and PIS, but it sure does bother me that he can't tell the difference between a lurker bite and a dog bite and he doesn't know that a dog bite would still kill her if left untreated, but hooray for PIS.

I thought the same thing. When dogs bite, they latch on and thrash the rest of their bodies side-to-side, like a whip. You'd think it would create a pretty distinctive wound. Then again, wouldn't a walker thrash in an effort to tear out chunks of meat?
