Season 2 is awful

I liked the first game of The Walking Dead. The things you did actually had an impact on what happened. Clem in awesome in season two. I'll continue playing just to see how she grows up. However, I hate that I have to sit through this game to do so cause it's just plain awful. Nothing you say or do has any impact on what has happened so far. Everything will happen exactly as it was going to anyway. It feels like a slow movie with dialogue options that are only there to keep your attention on this waste of time.

SPOILER

Not to mention, of ALL the characters that have died, why on Earth would they bring back Kenny!? He was the most annoying character in all of season 1! If I could have, I would have left him way back at Hershel's farm. When he died, I felt nothing but relief. And now he's back! Season 2 just keeps gettig worse and worse. Point and click your time away playing this... but you may as well save the money and just go on youtube and watch the videos on there cause that is all this game is. A bunch of mini movies dialogue options that do nothing.

  • Things had an impact on Season 1?

Oh... you mean the choices you were able to make so that in the end, Doug lived?

    Oh wait he didn't.

So where you were able to stop Duck from dy- oh wait....

How you were able to convince Molly to come wi- wait no... no.

But that choice where you make which lets Lee not die by chopping off his arm in time vs him not chop- wait... never mind

  • I don't know if you're just trolling but if you are serious then I suggest you wait until the season is complete then you can judge it as there has only been 2 episodes so far. Season 1 is only ever looked at overall so it is only fair that it goes for season 2 as well.
  • *Matthew's Voice* NAH

I see some issues with it, but nothing to troll about.

    > Nothing you say or do has any impact on what has happened so far.

Well, it *looks* like your decisions are having more impact than ever on the overall plot. On a personal character level however... not so much. You can start *A House Divided* two different ways, you can get Nick an Alvin killed, there are two paths for the final scene (although, yes, same outcome) and now it looks like we are going to have the 400 days plus the little details from S1.
  • Kenny never died though, you should've knew that in Season 1. You could clearly see him NOT DIE and NOT LIVE in a sense that you have no idea what happened to him because well, he runs.
  • I have a question. Did you see the episode 3 trailer!?!? I think this will be the best episode yet.
  • I feel like season 2 has been rushed, the game isn't as long as the first one, there hasn't been much character development other than maybe one or two people. I don't have really have any attachment to anyone from the cabin group.
  • So just because his/her opinion differs from yours, then that automatically makes them a troll, does it?
It's interesting because this isn't the first time I have read that some people aren't enthusiastic about this season, mainly because the story is getting predictable. Also because of Kenny's miraculous and still unexplained return. Finally another reason is likable characters are being killed off too quick.
Now speaking for myself, I am liking this season. True, there are things I would have done differently if I were writing the story, but on the whole I am looking forward to the next episode.
I still stand by what I have said before though. I do think season one was far superior at this moment in time. Hopefully that will change when future episodes become available.

  • My only complaint about this season is the lack of hubs to explore so we can talk to characters to get to know them a little more. Other than that I'm pretty happy with the results thus far.
  • Yes, he is both alive and dead until you see him.

  • You should wait until the rest of the season is over before making conclusive judgements like that. But so far in season 2, your decisions have more impact on the story than they did in season 1...for me at least. So just hang in there, you may find to actually like season 2 as well.

Wow, aren't you judgemental? Especially for a game series that's just two episodes in. In comparison to the previous season that is complete.
  • It's not the fact that they have a different opinion that makes them a troll, it's the reasons given. They claimed to like Season 1, and then argued that Season 2 sucks because the story plays out the same regardless of your choices and the game's nothing but "a bunch of mini movie dialogue options." Season 1 was the same way. There's really no logical way you could like Season 1 and hate Season 2 based on the reasons the OP gave.

And as others have said, how can you be upset about your choices not affecting the outcome, when we're not even half way through the story yet?

  • Season 2 has been great, even though it is 2 episodes in. I don't doubt that the rest of the season will be just as good

  • Yes, This is what happened is season one but it didn't feel that way. In season two you now know that if you make a decision to kill/save somebody it will not matter, they will come out the same if not then you know 100% that they will die so from something you cannot stop in the very near future. In season one it didn't feel like that was the case. They played things out so that it seemed a bit more like your choice had impact. In this season all your choices pretty much end up the same way, and nobody seems to treat you any differently because of them. Yes season two is the same basic design as season one, but it is much more predictable. I was so terribly disappointing when after way to many weeks of waiting episode two came out and just made these problems stand out more.

  • Again, we're not even half way through the story. There is no way to definitively say that our decisions are having any less/more impact than before until we see how things play out. I'm not trying to dismiss this opinion, because I do understand what you and the OP are getting at ... I just think it's a bit early to go off the rails and deem Season 2 "awful."

Opinions are like arseholes, everyones got one and most of them stink.

If you you don't like season 2 then don't play, nobody is tying you down and forcing you to endure it.

  • You're awful
  • Season 2 isn't awful, your opinion is.
  • If you hate the characters why download the game?
  • While I don't agree that it's awful (so far I'm enjoying it) everyone let me explain what I think the person who posted this means:
"The things you do actually had an impact". What I think he means is that in Season 2, the story just isn't affected that much as it is in Season 1. There were small variations to make things interesting, but in Season 2 they don't seem to have that much of an effect. Once again, all I'm reading is hypocrisy. If you disagree with someone's opinion, fine, but don't condemn then.
  • It's easy for people to talk shit when they haven't put any work into the game. I think the game has done well, it is a good successor for the previous Walking Dead.
  • Because you're playing the role of a kid in a zombie apocalypse. People want to protect you, sure, but you're not Lee. Nobody gives a shit about what your character thinks or wants or suggests. Clem can't effect anything because that's how the game is meant to be. You're in the shoes of someone much weaker and less charismatic than Lee. You can't change the way things go, just how you react to them.

I don't like Kenny either, but he alone doesn't make me hate S2.
