I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but maybe Rebecca dies in childbirth? and Clem goes on trying to protect the baby, kinda of like penance for what happened to Christa's baby? It'd be interesting for episode 5 to be just clem and the baby and her trying to keep it alive only to find that it's impossible.
I have a pretty fucked up imagination with these kind of things. I would enjoy a Walking Dead Game x Slenderman crossover, where Slendy is stalking Clementine. shivers....
There is blood on Clementine's face on episode 4, that scene reminds me of S1 where Lee puts blood on his face disguise as a walker so he won't be bitten i believe Clementine is doing the same thing in this scene like they put blood on Clem's face so she can escape.
I have heard the intro music of episode 5, the music was just downright creepy and haunting. I haven't heard the intro music for episode 3 and 4 yet. I am both scared and excited. :)
With what I saw last night In Harm's Way, this is starting to look more true.... OH GAWD DONT LOSE YOURSELF CLEMMY! D:
I mean even Carver says that she can just as bad as he is. And when you see Carver getting killed, watching it, that just unveils a VERY DARK Clementine, something that really disturbed me to the core.
Oh my gosh you guys couldnt imagine my face seeing this at the top again.
Also, my Clem witnessed Carver's death. The way she replied with "I know" seems like she was curious and reaally wanted experience sonething horrific. It's like she's forcing herself to go though these scenarios out of curiosity or interest, which is a scary thought. My Clem is 100% hardened and is a realist, but damn is she slipping.
Hearing Carver talk about his supposed similarities with Clem in Episode 3, and seeing how utterly indifferent Clem was while witnessing Carver getting his face bashed into a pudding, I am really beginning to see this theory coming to pass.
I just wonder what will happen in Amid the Ruins, the teaser didn't give us much of an idea of what the episode will be about..
Also, the Episode 3 music sends shivers down my spine with the eerie buzz-saw noises in the background. All of them sound like something out of Silent Hill, but that one in particular is just so disturbing to me. I love dark ambient music.
1-2nd swing: Clem glances over at Rebecca, with a mix of a childish want of reassurance from her, and a look of Calming R. Down.
3-5 swing: Clementine flinches heavily with each blow and looks scared to look at the demented head.
6-Last swing: Clem closes her eyes, and then firms herself up, staring directly at Carver with a face that I can only really describe as madenning. Carver even said that he and Clem are a lot alike in his office during that meeting. If you act innocent or say "I'm not like you." Then Carver insists you are, but haven't accepted/felt comfortable with accepting that fact. And those faces clem make are like stages of acceptance.
Shes slipping just because she wanted to be a part of revenge? It didn't really even seem like she enjoyed watching it happen. She was wincing and shutting her eyes the whole time.

She looks at last couple of swings after most of the work was already done, so that means shes going crazy? There was anger in her eyes, but that was it. She was uncomfortable for essentially the entire thing.
I didn't see your first post at the time that I made my own. Didn't refresh the screen in those first two-three minutes after you posted.

She wanted to be part of the revenge. I don't know what that has to do with sanity. Rebecca wanted to be there for the revenge as well, is she going insane too?
On phone, so sorry for slow typing.
There's a difference between an 11 year old girl witnessing a man getting his face demolished until you can see his skull, and a full grown adult witnessing that. If that doesn't cause serious mental problems, then it will at least scar her badly.

I mean.. I guess that is probably true, but the other things are on a bad enough level to the point that I'm not sure that it really matters. Who knows though, we'll have to wait and see. It'll be interesting to see if consequences come of this.
Another interesting little thing I noticed. Looking at the color of the achievements on the xbox version, episode one achievements are all sort of grey/black without any real color. Episode two achievements are all sort of warning sign yellow. Episode 3 achievements are all colored danger red.
Interesting? How about soul crushing? It would suck if it ended with Clem having to bash the babies head in because it died. That would trigger all kinds of flashbacks to Christa's baby. Man, I'm feeling feels that I don't want to feel. TellTale, don't you dare!

Interesting how you've chosen to play your Clementine as a hardass. My version of Clem is "a puzzle" (as Katjaa would put it). She could offer Sarah a hug one minute, and stay to watch a guy getting his skull pulverized to a pulpy mass the next.
My Clem didn't stay in the room because she wanted to see an evil man beaten to oblivion. Nor did she stay to prove Carver right about the two of them being cut from the same cloth. She stayed for Kenny, to hold his hand through probably the darkest moment of his life. When the group was initially debating what to do with Carver, I had Clem say "let's tie him up," since I felt these people had witnessed enough brutality and soul-sucking violence to last a lifetime. But the second Kenny shot out Carver's kneecaps, I knew there was no stopping him. So I chose to remain by his side, so at least he wouldn't be alone.
My Clem is nice and reasonable to the group, and i asked sarah for a hug, being as nice to her and everyone as I could without being overly mushy. But at the same time, I'm trying to put her in positions that will harden her up and toughen her, while keeping her humanity.

while she was watching she did wince but after that, she looked again but with a mad face. like she knew it was horrible but had to be done and was glad he was being killed.

actually with all the other things shes seen, this ain't that bad.
if seeing bad things would make her go insane she would be well insane already.
she witnessed a mans head get crushed be a block. her friend get shot and fall right in front of her.
she saw a legless man crawling for help right in front of her. and has bashed a countless amount of human heads in. and saw a friend fall to his death. and lees death...
i don't think seeing carvers death will make her go insane. maybe an 11 year old girl that was never in the apocalypse and was exposed to carvers death at a random moment. but not clementine. shes seen enough shit already, carvers death wont make her lose it.
Comments
I didn't care for lizzie either, but when she died it just crushed me...
It was sad, yes, but I just couldn't feel bad for her. She would just deny everything that was different to what she believed.
you have a good point there. she just didn't understand that everything had gone to shit.

Man. This is actually really fucking depressing to think about.

"I know."
I'm sure you've seen the scene, and there was more to it than that.

This is also not the first gruesome/violent thing she has come across. She has seen a lot of bad stuff already.

clem watched because he was bad and...evil
i dont think she is slipping though.
