You protecting Clementine was an obvious goal from the start, with an ongoing problem of not having a secure location to survive the apocalypse for the foreseeable future. Kenny mentions in the first episode a boat being his backup plan in case the military couldn't control the outbreak, and their first location they were heading to was Macon. Their plan to head to Savannah was a result of failing to hold up in several places and it was made clear that finding a place to keep Clementine safe was the plot device for that season.
In season 2 however it feels like we're an extension of a group hasn't discussed any ongoing problems other than Carver who's now dead.
Well, Season 1 didn't have a clear plot either. They just decided to go to Savannah on ep 3. From that point on things just happened.
C… morelem and Christa decided to go to Wellington on ep 1. Things happened as well, but it kinda doesn't lead us anywhere right now.
More likely if there is a mistake, it will be making him act too psychopathic without the break periods of him being funny or a cool hero guy to balance it out. (diving to save Russel as an example), or the other way around, making him too much of a cool hero guy, then it makes less sense when he does something too crazy and we have to turn on him.
Either way they need to remember the most important tool of Telltale game character building: the long, uncomfortable and awkward conversation with the person you only sort of want to talk to.
I'm worried that if Nate comes back his character will be ruined now as he will be written by a different writer who will make him nowhere n… moreear as funny as he was in 400 days and he'll just be boring like Tavia or one of the other robot guards at Carver's camp, plus he'll probably get killed stupidly too.
Well Tavia may become an antagonist... maybe... but who knows? All I know is that at the moment they're trying to find Sarah and such. I enjoyed episode three but i'm kind of scared that episode four won't live up to my expectations o.o
That is interesting because i loved that in episode 2 they were getting closer to that goal, but then Carver caught them. It felt like a step back, their long walk and hard work for nothing.
i guess he would make a good antagonist. if you meet up with the 400 days group again, russel would probably have some interesting stuff to say about him.
Even though they're were plot twists last season, you had a general idea of the objectives and direction of the story. The story this season seems sort of aimless and random. Its the same with the Wolf among us.
You don't have to lay it all out for the player, but this years offerings from TT do seem like they suffer from a lack of cohesion as far as the story lines go. Its feels like they're just spitballing it or something.
I think the purpouse of this season is going to Wellington and find Christa, in the first episode they got separeted on their way to Wellington so maybe Clem want to find Christa, in episode 2 she still has planned to go Wellington, but Carver has other plans to her and the cabin group... I think that they will reach Wellington in episode 4 at the end and it will be in ruins (Amid the ruins) XD
Being relatively unsatisfied (and sickeningly bitter) with the fanservice-coated narrative of Episode 3, I am going to say that there is none. No-one matters. This is Kenny's story now. Everyone else is just walker food waiting to be served. Telltale does not want the Kenny fans tearing their industries down, so they make sure to focus on him. This is why I really wished that his sacrifice would have ended his story. The Sarita dilemma is yet more fuel for the Kenny drama train.
...But I digress. I just feel that Rebecca should have killed Carver. All bitter feelings Kenny had for Carver were things he himself caused. (Walter got an-eye-for-an-eye'd because he killed Johnny, and his eye was poked because he refused to let me take one for the team (might be determinant). Him getting and eyepatch and his killing of Carver were so fanservicey that he might as well had been shirtless with gruff manly scars covering his body. ...Erhm. Sorry, my mind wandered.
So to summarize, I like Kenny. I am glad he is back. But I do hope that they do not get carried away with Kenny, he might have godlike facial hair, but he is still part of a group.
Another thing... As much as it hurts to admit, the moment I saw Luke acting so strange... I really want him to actually turn out bitten. That would be the greatest twist of the season, and would more than make up for all the other lags that I have felt corrupting the narrative. No-one but Clementine should have a season-length shield against death.
Lee knew already that they died. There is dialogue that Lee can say to Kenny and Carley on different times that her parents are dead.
I believe the reason they at first made it ambiguous is so that if they wanted, they could easily make the parents appear alive later, which never happened.
If you listen to the phone call telltale weren't being subtle when they were trying to tell you that her parents were already dead.
*Wi… moreth sounds zombies in the background*
"Clementine? Baby, if you hear this, call the police. That's 9-1-1. We love you... we love you... we love y-"
She didn't know because she was 8 years old, but Lee did and was focused on protecting her until the end.
I think we'll see Christa ultimate fate in episode 5, but I don't think that's gonna be enough. Either someone important's gonna die or we'll reach Wellington or something like that. I highly doubt they improvised Carver's death. In fact, I seem to recall one of the writers saying there was an overall plan as to how the season would go.
The game seems to push Clem's group north towards Wellington from time to time. If everything goes as it should, the group should be heading to a civil war tourist trap that was said to be located north of Craver's camp. Everything in between Clementine starting out with Christa to Wellington seems to be character development and building relationships with the people who you think Clem can trust.
I'm thinking about Wellington but with season 1 we weren't aware about main plot until episode 3 and 4. In this case season 2 isn't even complete so we have to wait for next episodes to judging anything. Either way I'm still thinking about Wellington because they seems to going up north towards it. We'll see.
For now the plot is the meet the group at the museum.I think every episode has it main plot.Just like the tv show season 4 .Antagonist dies first half second half trying to survive,
Yeah, I think now it'll just be how EVERYTHING had effected her and how will it affect her being a survivor growing up among the ruins quite literally!
The survivors are lost and we as the players are lost with them. Right now survival is all there is. That is the plot. We are left to struggle as we try to find our way. At least that's how it feels to me.
Surviving, getting to wellington. I don't know. Season one was a mixture of everything though. I don't think Lee even believed Clementine's parents were alive. So I don't think that was the main plot of the story-maybe a subplot at most.
Considering how horrible this new writer is, don't hold your breath. I hope telltale reads all these complains about this idiot writer and keeps him away from TWD, and all of their new projects, for that matter.
Clem's parents never really mattered until Episodes 4 and 5, so Season 1's plot was more or less just keeping Clem safe. Season 2's plot seems to be about how Clem is developing without Lee to guide her, with Carver being less of an overarching antagonist and more of what makes Clem realize exactly how dark she can become if she doesn't make an effort to keep her humanity.

For me, it's all about Clementine. I honestly don't care what the "central" plot is, I just want to see how Clementine evolves over time. Making a Villian that carries over to Season 3 would be pretty awesome... IF Season 3 doesn't take ages to come out...
Seeing Clementine grow, dealing with shitty situations. Oh, I would add "showing how she develops relationships and interacts with her group", but there just doesn't seem to be enough room for that; just for the plot and little for the characters carrying the plot.
I think the main plot is actually a coming-of-age story for Clementine. Especially after this episode. Will she keep her humanity or will she adopt Carver's point of view? But yeah, I think Wellington will come into play soon because they have to be getting closer to it.
Yup. It was more clear once "The Season 1 Trilogy" started with *Long Road Ahead*. I remember feeling more or less like I do right now. "Wow, that was one hell of a climax... where are we going now?"

I miss crying. Surprise us, Telltale!

Oo
Unfortunately we all know that won't be true...(most likely)
I'm still in for Clementine.
