At the end of Episode 3...

When you have the option to chop Sarita's arm off, I realized something after I made my decision. Remember how Reggie mentions that a walker bit his arm and how they chopped it off so he wouldn't turn? I think it's completely possible that that's bull and is meant to give us a false hope. Carver could have been the one to cut it off as punishment after helping the group escape, but I'm not completely dead-set on my lil theory and I could be totally wrong. Thoughts?

  • I cut it off. I mean she is going to die anyways so might as well try to save her.
  • I did too, that was the only option that really made any sense at the time (that scream bothered the heck outta me though).

The axe you cut of her arm with, was just used to kill walkers, so either way she is infected.

  • yeah but she is bitten so she is going to die anyways

  • I just said that either way she is infected man :/

  • no really. its never been confirmed in the game that you turn from walker blood. I think its only spread through saliva.

  • Nah, dunno really if that option is the only one. I didn´t cut it. I mean, she has the right to make that decision on her own.
  • Huh, hadn't thought about that. I suppose Reggie could have just been covering for the injustice of his arm getting cut off as punishment for helping the others escape. He was oddly unspecific about how it happened. All he says is that a walker snuck up on him while he was "hammering something" and he got bit. It does seem plausible that Reggie could have just been trying to give the newcomers a good first impression of the camp by lying about how he really lost his arm. This doesn't mean that it's not possible to save someone from turning by quickly removing the infected area, though. Pete said back at the cabin that it worked for a cousin of his, and I can't imagine why he would lie about that, so I still think that there's a conceivable chance that Sarita will make it. Hopefully the walker blood from Clem's hatchet didn't creep into Sarita's bloodstream.
  • I can't tell if I was just being a major idiot and you are being sarcastic, or if you did not do your research. I am just gonna go with the former XD

Well, Dale survived for a pretty long time after being amputated and the game is in the same universe as the comics so I vote survive.

Also Sarita was amputated immediately upon getting bit.
  • What do you mean. Everyone is infected already. A bite from a long dead thing will have numerous diseases which is what kills the individual, a bit of blood spattering on a wound might not infect them.

For example look at other diseases spread by blood it often dosnt transmit even through direct contact.

  • clem weapon got lurker blood on it,so i think i made a wrong choice
  • I think she will die anyway. Sarita is not a character that survives tbh.
