Clementine is better than all. I don't care if Clementine were being compared with the almighty powers of the cosmos, Clementine wins, always, no matter what.
Lara Croft popularity for me was in the early 1990s-2000s. Her Yabbos were the size of grapefruits. Now they made her more "el Natural." I d… moreon't approve of this change.
Femshep- i don't like Jennifer hale. She is in everything, Every time i would play a game i would keep thinking of METAL GEAR!
Ellie was pretty boring to be honest. I felt the Sarah (joel's daughter) character was a better voice actress than Ellie, there was just more depth in her voice. The whole game was pretty much you babysitting her, it felt like Resident evil 4 babysitting whatever her name was.
Elizabeth- I hated this character with a passion. I couldn't take the Disney persona for five minutes. It made me sick to my stomach how sweet she was, it was like i was in a casting for Beauty and the Beast. When she starts dancing, i was like yeah i 'm done. Bioshock 3 sucks.

Elisabeth is basically a Disney Princess which honestly, isn't a good thing. She also never seemed that useful to me, throwing random crap at me I may or may not need to moment. Boy, in the older games, you could like CARRY health packs and use them whenever you please. Now, a woman does it for us. Truly she is a strong, well-thought out, developed female character and deserves the best fpsgaem10/1 headshotmlgnoscopescrub award all years. Also, after five seconds, she has no problems that her companion commits genocide everywhere.

I'm sorry, I guess I'm kinda bias, because Ellie annoyed me more than anything. Like how she constantly bumps into enemies which somehow doesn't alert them. IMMERSION RUINED
You didn't finish Bioshock Infinite, did you? Or Burial at Sea, for that matter. You see, the point of a character ARC is that someone like Elizabeth starts somewhere and transforms into something else. She STARTS as a naive, innocent girl, and the greater part of the game afterward is about her becoming a woman. Killing Daisy Fitzroy, realizing her powers and destroying Songbird before ending the cycle with Booker and Comstock, it all changed her into who she is in Burial at Sea E1, a hardened killer willing to sacrifice a little girl to see Comstock suffer.

I don't know why I came into a thread on the TTG forums and expected people to not be batshit crazy for Clementine. There's plenty of awesome female characters out there in other games, and a lot of them are more interesting. While Clem is very likable, I don't consider her the 'best female character in gaming' at all. I'm not going to go on and list examples I can think of off the top of my head because I don't care to have a whole mob of ragers trying to pick apart my opinion like everyone else has done to those already mentioned, and also I don't really give a shit if you disagree with me.

You want awesome female characters? You got it! Samus Aran, the protagonist of Remember Me, HALF the cast of Fire Emblem, Pretty much any female character in Kid Icarus Uprising,Shell, Alyx Vance, Athena Cykes and so on. We're just saying that the modern incarnation of Lara Croft, Elisabeth, Ellie and Femshep are very overrated.

I liked the first one for PlayStation, but they got stranger and stranger as time went on. I watched people buy MGS 5 Ground Zeros and laughed. Kojima wanted 30+ dollars for that. It is one level from what i understand, and some people still gave it a 10/10 on meta critic.
Let's just that something was lost... IN TRANSITION *puts on sunglasses*
But seriously, she's not that well developed. Five seconds after she sees Booker kill some dudes, suddenly she's okay with genocide. Her powers aren't useful at all. She only summons stuff that should be there in the first place. Then there's the plot holes. She should not even EXIST in burial, because Booker was killed in the past! Shouldn't that mean Elisabeth dies too? Wasn't that the whole point of the ending? And isn't it a different Elisabeth in Ep. 2? Doesn't make the whole thing pointless? You know what? I stopped caring. I might go insane I think about it for more than five seconds. Oh, and if you dare say "2deep4u", I will kill you.
I can't stand how moronic it gets. Remember all that stupid shit in Metal Gear Solid 2?
"Do you like my Japanese chopsticks? They're all the rage in Japan!!" GERH, so cringeworthy.
What kind of gear do we need to fix the clock?
A METAL GEAR!

It makes me LOL.
I've been an observer on these forums for quite a while now, but what I've seen in this thread from posters whom I've come to respect galvan… moreized me into registering.
Clementine is assuredly one of the best if not the best female characters in video games, but the fact that you believe this doesn't mean you have to bag on other people's opinions, degrading amazing, badass characters like Ellie and Elizabeth and trash talking their fanbases- that makes you no better than the people you profess to hate. Elizabeth is far more than a pretty face, as anyone who has played Infinite or Burial at Sea would know, and Ellie is one of the most realistic characters that I've ever seen; her story, particularly in Left Behind, resonates in a way that rocked me emotionally to the core- how dare some of you call the DLC a "publicity stunt" based on her feelings for Riley.

I was so hyped to play that game. I bought Brave Fencer Mushashi, just to get the Metal Gear 2 Demo. I loved the tanker part, it was awesome. Then when you get forced to play Square-Enix Raiden, the game took a dramatic downhill spiral. The story made absolutely no sense at the time. Pretty much like all the followup games. Then Otocan had sex with his step mom, i'm like ok, it just seemed like a bad soap opera to me.

Femshep is awesome, but I think some people are counting her out based on the fact that she doesn't even have to be female, and that her actions are choice-based, and you can either make her a good person or an asshole. The latter one in particular makes no sense, as the exact same thing is true for Clem.
Regardless, she's definitely way up there on my list.
Well, I count her out more because she's the flawless, perfect 'RPG hero.' There's hardly any character to her other than her being 'awesome.' To the point where BioWare suddenly trying to add a human element to her in ME3 was jarring as hell.

I find the search for the best female character is less about picking apart every minute flaw with them and their game, and more about focusing on who they are and what they do. First of all, you may not remember, but after she first sees Booker kill, she freaks out and runs away, shocked. She basically does the same thing after she kills Daisy. And she has phenomenal character development in Burial at Sea, especially E2. Some of her speeches nearly moved me to tears.

I just can't figure out why Femshep is always brought up here. She seems to have taken some kind of symbolic status but both Shepards, male … moreand female, are hardly characters at all. They're just completely generic RPG heroes surrounded by a plethora of other characters that are actually interesting.
I am yet to see someone say they play Mass Effect because Shepard is such an 'interesting, complex' character. Especially when he/she is constantly being overshadowed by the rest of ME's cast that is actually interesting.
Sorry. Ranting.
That kind of shit pisses me off, I spent half of TLOU referring to Ellie as either "Ammo Bag" or "Health Kit" because that's all she really was to me, feels were rare in that game and instead of just barely getting by like in TWD it's "Rambo and Rambo Jr. in the ZA". The characters were practically invincible and enemies completely ignored your teammates. It was a good game, but it ain't got SHIT on TWD.
A lot of people turn down TWDG because it apparently looks like a 'cartoon'. But as more and more people get into the game, it should grow a… more bit which will make Clementine pretty highly nominated.
On this one however ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVFBh3Gj3iI ) Clem's second on the list of most bad ass female characters -beat by Ellie, which I can't really understand, though I do like Ellie-... so there's some credibility there, but it's not a very well known countdown, which is a bit saddening, but hopefully it'll get there...
Don't take this wrong way, but I'm starting to think you didn't read my post. I remember ALL of it. After those five seconds of "BOOKER HOW COULD YOU" or "IMMA MONSTAR", everything goes back to playing catch while Booker comits genocide. That's my point and I'm sticking to it. Also what character development? She's a fragile little bird all throughout episode 2 and it's not even the SAME Elisabeth. The Elisabeth in episode 1 is dead. This raises questions I don't give fuck about, because it's dumb attempt by Kevin Line to be edgy and deep.

But each to their own, I guess.
Yeah, a fragile little bird who faces down splicers, Atlas, Andrew Ryan, and everything else Rapture throws at her to mend what she's done. Fragile little bird my ass.

Like every other beta i deal with in my day to day life. it make me laugh seriously. It is like when you see someone write Property of "Jane doe." on their sandwich in the lunch room fridge. I laugh, really.
Ellie isn't even a memorable character, there isn't much that is special about her besides the obvious. A comment on Facebook said "A badass… more teen girl vs a whiny squeaker, hmm tough one." That right there made me want to slit his throat. Clementine is definitely the best female character in gaming.
I honestly didn't like Ellie a ton. I mean, I cared about her since she was a kid, but she tried to be bad ass instead of naturally being bad ass, she's literally done nothing to earn the title of being a bad ass kid.

A fragile little bird who needs to GET HER ENEMIES FROM BEHIND AND PUT THEM TO SLEEP. I love stealth games, but there's no reason for this if you claim that she's supposed to be a badass at this point of the story, because she ain't. She dies in a few hits, needs to be invisible, accomplishes nothing that benefits her or the good guys and DIES. Best of all, nothing is answered. That's the whole parallel to bird and the cage. I hate infinite and even I know that.
Besides that. She's not a good character imo. Her personality is weak and makes no sense considering her entire life took place in the tower. Burial at Sea only gave us more questions and exposition. You still don't get how these Elisabeths are NOT the same. Elisabeth's ability to pick locks, decode secret messages and just be God made her a Mary Sue in the first game. In Burial at Sea, she couldn't have been the same Elisabeth, it makes no sense so there's no arc! She's a dumb femme fatale stereotype in episode 1 and made her a weaker version of Booker in episode 2 for no reason. I get that she's not a trained soldier, but you realize this is incredibly sexist, right? She has magical powers! She can change the universe! She has access to weapons and powers beyond anyone's imagination yet she hits people from behind with a weapon that should not be there in the first place.
