Who would you join?

edited May 2014 in The Walking Dead
So during Episode 4, let's say everyone survives the walker attack (Except Sarita either due to feeling exhausted to the bite or being grabbed on one arm and not being able to fight due to missing the other one).

Kenny is completley fed up with the new group and wants to leave the group with Clementine. However Luke (who arrived mid-way during the attack and helped the group escape) argues that Clementine is going nowhere and is better secured in their group.

Jane agrees to leave with Kenny and tries to get Clementine to join her, and Kenny. Luke, Nick, and Rebecca argue back and forth with Kenny and Jane in the most intense argument yet.

(If you're friends with Sarah she willtell you that she will stick by you and depending on what group you join that is the group she joins. If you're not friends with Sarah she will join Luke's group by default. Mike joins alongside Jane, and Bonnie will stick with Clementines decision by default.)

The prompts appear [Join Luke] or [Join Kenny] and as the two sides begin shouting, (If you don't make a decision the game makes the decision based on how you treated both characters).

Once a prompt is selected the camera zooms on Clementines shocked face as she looks at both opposing groups as they continue shouting and it ends on a cliffhanger.

But the decision is: Who would you join?

  • Probably Kenny. But would Mike also join Kenny?
  • Wherever Nick goes I go. I promised Pete, and I will NEVER break that promise.

    So Luke's group.

Luke voted not to kill Carver so who knows what would happen if Kenny didn't kill him off, Nick is determent, Sarah is, well... and Rebecca is about to have a child. Kenny is about to snap, and Jane might get Clem killed. I think Luke would join Kenny if she went with Kenny, and Kenny might join Luke if you go with luke.
But seriously, Telltale wouldn't let what I just said above happen, so I'm going with Kenny, even though he isn't the most stable person, but we still got Jane, right?
EDIT: Wait, what about Mike? Who is he with, or did he die?
  • I go with Luke's group
  • I would go with Kenny. I don't like or trust Jane, but having some time with Kenny and Sarah would be worth it, they're both up there on my favorite characters list.
  • Ugh, that's a really difficult decision. :( I love Kenny, and I've tried to be loyal to him, but I reaaally distrust Jane. I guess if Sarah would come with me, MAYBE I'd choose Kenny...

But no, I'd probably choose Luke's group, provided at least that Mike is still a part of it. I just don't trust Jane enough. I also trust Bonnie, so I wouldn't want to leave her behind.
  • I like Kenny, but he's not very safe for Clementine. Sure, he makes sacrifices for her, but would he even had to have if he didn't get them in the mess in the first place?

I would go to Luke's group and just hope that Kenny would change his mind and have no choice but to go where Clem does.

I don't think Kenny would leave Clementine like that, it just seems out of character.
  • I would suggest that OP puts Mike with Kenny and Jane, because then the numbers are kind of even. (Kenny, Jane and Mike vs Luke, Rebecca and possibly Nick and/or Sarah)

  • Forgot Bonnie!

  • In this situation he's assuming Clementine will come with him regardless.

  • Exactly, so he'd probably change his mind, or I would hope so.

  • Since it's Kenny who's trying to stir up trouble here, I'd go with Luke's group. It'd be unfair to abandon the people trying to be civil. And Luke and Nick have shown they have good hearts. They may not be able to step it up as well as Kenny can in certain situations but Kenny's also dangerous and can go way too far. He's probably done some permanent psychological damage to Clem by brutalising Carver to such a degree in front of her. And I really think that given the opportunity, Luke and Nick would put themselves in harm's way for Clem anyway. In fact, Nick does just that at the start of episode 2 if Clem went with him. Another factor to consider is that having Sarah in a group where the ONLY person she has a bond with is Clementine and everyone else is a stranger to her seems very dangerous to her mental state. Especially with personalities like Kenny and Jane's. It's safer for Sarah, who's going to be in a bad place emotionally with her father gone, to be with people she'd feel more comfortable with.

This would be a very interesting choice and a defining moment in Clem's character development... good idea you got here.
  • I'd wish for an option to tell them all to go fuck themselves, make a little Clementine style speech about how their infighting will be the doom of them all, and have Clementine walk off by herself.

Since they all love Clementine so much maybe they'd get their shit together and realize that she's sick of this shit and go with her.
  • I'll post results later ;)

Clementine joins Luke and the others whilst Kenny looks at Clementine. (If you were nice to Kenny, he'll look sadistically at Clementine and say "Clementine!" Then decide against it and join you, Mike and Jane leave.) - (If you weren't nice to Kenny, such as sitting with Luke, telling Sarita you believe Kenny has changed, restraining Sarita, leaving the bite on Sarita and telling Walter you weren't really friends with Kenny. Kenny looks at Clementine angrily and says "Clementine!" and then declares Clementine has "changed" since the motor inn and leaves alongside Mike, and Jane.) Bonnie also joins you, if Sarah liked Clementine she'll be happy with your decision.

If Clementine decides to join Kenny, then things are different depending on how you chose the characters. Being nice to Rebecca, Nick, and Luke will have them say their goodbyes to you and the option to hug them one last time. If Sarah dislikes you, she won't say anything to you claiming that you're mean. Bonnie will join you, and if you were nice to Sarah she will join you reluctantly but says she trusts you.
  • I would let the timer run out, this is too difficult.
  • No third option to tell them to quit whining and work together with Clementine stepping up as leader? Because, to be honest and perfectly serious, why would anyone deny that?

As Carver-like as that sounds, it's pretty much the truth and would keep the whole group united, she does most of the work and as long as you're playing using "Good" moral choices, there's no reason why she can't be fair in her rule.

Waking up from dreamland, it would depend on some character development in the episode. First, how would Kenny hold up after finding Sarita dead, if he breaks down/shows signs of craziness, then that pretty much makes the decision. What Jane's motives are would also be nice to know cause she's been shown to have no loyalty's to any of the current characters and seems to be in it for herself at the moment.

If there are no strings attached to Kenny's group, then I would go with them, if it seems off either through Kenny's sanity or Jane's personality, then I'd go with Luke.
  • I would let the timer run out and let the game choose for me.
