Who has let their younger siblings play The Walking Dead?

If you did, what were their reactions to the game? I remember my cousin being devastated after Shawn's death. And also kept thinking that Doug's full name was Douglas. And the little dummy thought that "I thought you were dead" person was Omid.

  • I played it on my PS3 in the living room, my little sister watched. You know, not intentionally, just while doing other stuff.

It...wasn't pretty. Had to calm her down, tell her it isn't real and shit (she got nightmares).
I animated my two years younger brother to play it, though. Problem is: he doesn't want to play it :/

Well, my younger sister is nearly 20, she's played it. Hell, she played it before I did. She's actually the reason I decided to give it a go in the first place.
  • That feeling when you don't have younger siblings ;-;
  • I wish I knew it... -_-

  • I have a 20 year old brother who plays it... but that'd count him as an older sibling... I have no younger siblings ;_;

  • I don't LET my little sister play, but she comes into my room anyway and begs for the controller.
  • My little sister, she's a badass 11 years old kid. She also played TWAU and had no mercy with Dum.
  • Because he's an idiot ^~^

  • My 11 year old brother and I played the entire game through together and we both cried at the end of episode 5 :'|
  • Me and my younger brother (He's 11) play the Walking Dead together. We marathoned Season One and 400 Days, and we did the first two episodes of the Second Season (As they were the only ones out at the time).

He wanted to pick Doug, and so I gave in and agreed. He really liked him and was devastated when he died. However he didn't want me to leave Lilly behind. He liked Duck and Ben (so always defended them) and loved Clementine, Katjaa and Kenny. When we first found them he liked Omid but didn't really like Christa but grew to like her during Episode 4. He didn't like Larry but didn't want to kill him, and didn't really trust Mark.

He didn't trust the St Johns, and we both agreed that we should spare both of them.

When it came to shooting the girl in the street, he wanted to leave her because he thought walkers would come and eat Lee and Kenny.

He told me not to drop Ben and I let him control the part where you shoot zombies (To help Clementine in the streets, To save Christa and Vernon, etc.) When it came to save Molly he did pretty good and actually saved her (He didn't want to bring Clementine into Crawford because he thought they would still be alive and kill her plus he wanted someone to look after Omid).

He was so DAMN sad when Lee was bitten I looked at his face the entire time during the reveal and you could just see how QUICK and how HARD his heart just dropped. (Yes he cried at Lee's death but tried hiding the tears - I pretended to not take notice)

He also got everyone (but Ben) to join him and told Clementine to shoot him.

With Season Two, he was a bit harsher. He did feel super damn sad that Omid died and Christa dissapeared (He decided to distract the scavengers). He was nice to Sarah and promised to be friends but he told me only because he wanted the medicine. He got the medicine himself and was mostly nice to the cabin group. He decided to help save Nick, which really surprised me but he said Pete was "dead anyway".

He then left Nick alone, lied to Carver, was nice to Sarah again and took the blame for the photo. He blamed Nick and didn't defend him when Nick shot Matthew but convinced Walter to forgive Nick later on, he also told the truth to Walter. We got Alvin killed because my brother didn't 'Protect Alvin' or tell Kenny and Luke to stop shooting but the other dialogue option.

In the third episode, he once again helped Sarah (though he did get Clementine smacked down in the intro), he seemed to like Reggie but did want to get out. He also just told Bonnie that he wanted to talk to Kenny but he did hug Luke as he likes Luke. But that ending. I think he had to take time to recover after that ending as he didn't know what to do so I chose to chop Saritas arm off and her scream just seemed to shock him. He also felt shocked after Carlos died.

But he really loves The Walking Dead and wants to watch the television show with me sometime soon. :D
  • That is just scary. In the "How old are you?" thread, people are complaining about 12-14 year olds playing this game. An 11-year old playing is just wrong.

  • Certain kids are mature enough to handle a game like this at a young age. Believe me, some 11 year olds can be much more mature than some 18 year olds.

Some kids (very few) are mature enough to handle it. The ones that aren't mature enough are also not mature enough to know they can't handle it. Kids under 17 can't make that decision for themselves - that's why this game is rated "M".

Letting an 11-year old play this game is abusive.

  • Lol my young siblings only played season 1 episode 1 and like it. I wanted them to continue, but they don't want to right now :)

I'm 13 and I am completely fine with the game. I started playing it not long after I turned 12, and one of my best friends (who is now 11) watched me play it when she was barely 10. She's fine. She's not mentally scarred. Some kids can take it. Some can't. But a lot of them can.

  • Are you kidding? My 11 year old brother played it. He's fine. Nothing is wrong with him, mentally or psyhically. He was perfectly capable of making decisions.

Isn't it odd how you can believe that an 11 year old (Clementine) can murder walkers, witness deaths and even murder people herself. Yet when it comes to playing a video game, it's impossible.

What's so wrong about 12-14 yearolds or even younger playing it? I think you forget how smart some kids are...

  • yea my younger siblings also play GTA 5 XD. They only drive cars and run people over. Before and after playing GTA 5 we always tell them that they shouldn't be doing what they see in the game in real life. They understand. They play Minecraft to avoid becoming violent. So yea as long as you teach them right from wrong and they understand, then there's no reason why they shouldn't play :)

  • That's not a fact. Yes, some children are quite stupid, but i've talked to some who are quite aware about what's going on in the game, they know better than some of the adults i've met on the forum...

  • Exactly. I don't think people understand that videogames don't make children violent, their parent's teachings are what make them violent.

  • Does letting my brother that is 2 minutes younger than me count?
  • i don't care, i'm old. I have more life experience, than a 12 year old. I am able to understand things better than someone whose brain isn't formed to maturity. You know the brain doesn't stop growing until your 25 right. The game is just a game, you know. It doesn't mean they're smart about anything, it just means they spent way too much time either playing this game, or reading about this game. Kids should be spending time doing their homework, not playing video games. IN MY DAY i walked to school with bread bags on my shoes, because my parents couldn't afford boots. Now i can buy anything i want. God i am turning into my parents.

  • I encouraged my younger sister to play. She played half of episode 1 and stopped. How dare she. -_- On the other hand she's pretty much the exact opposite of me.

  • I was going to, but I had accidentally spoiled that Lee dies. Now I refuse to let them touch it until they forget it forever.
  • I've killed all my sisters.
  • I let my 10 year old brother play. He got bored and went off to play bloody Plants vs Zombies.

I showed him a video of Carvers face getting squished and he screamed haha
  • I got a sister two years younger than me, but we're both about grown-up now. She thought the first season was great, but she's been waiting for a chance to play S2. And by "play" I mean she has me grab the controller from her whenever the QTE's come up. Unfortunately...I deleted her S1 save to try and show it to my older sister, she wasn't that into it. I'll figure something out, though. Maybe have her recount all the stuff she said and did from a walkthrough.
  • My little sister and brother are completely different than me, I haven't really talked to them about this, and I most likely won't.
