Spoiler-free In Sheep's Clothing Review Thread

edited May 2014 in The Wolf Among Us
Hi guys!

For the past 2 telltale releases I have made these player review threads as a means of helping people to decide whether to buy the episode without being spoiled at all.

So yeah, what did you think of episode 4?

And remember, NO spoilers. At all. Some guy on this thread for In Harm's Way revealed a huge spoiler in the thread: if you are going to spoil something, even if it's really small, at least put it in the spoiler tags so no-one accidentally reads it.

I watched Nuke's stream, it was ok I guess but way way too short. Kind of annoyed where it ended as well. If you want any more spoiler free details feel free to ask.
  • 75 minutes to be exact with Nuke's YT Videos xD

    Disappointing.

  • I didn't like it. Not that much happened.

    6 out of 10

    Episode 1 > Episode 3 > Episode 4 > Episode 2
  • Sounds bad :(

Was there action or tough choices? (Without telling spoilers)

  • No

The same ol punch this guy or not

For me, there was roughly 1 major choice which can take you down two different roads. Most of the choices relate to how friendly you are to certain Fables, in other words who do you pander to. Hope that doesn't spoil anything. But I would give it a 7/10, it did build the plot and there were some pretty cool action scenes but far too short.

  • Well, that is some shitty news. Just like TWD Season 2 then, it seems these damn episodes are just being rushed out the gate.
  • It's a real shame, as after Crooked Mile I was hoping that Telltale had got their groove back with the wolf among us

No almost all of them only really change the scene at hand and aren't really important to the overall story only one I can say changes anything but it's like the Episode 3 "pick your location" with only 2 options other than that.........ehhhh.....

    An extreme disappointment, Telltale.

So that's it, RUSH MAN! THEY PAID US ALREADY!!!11 YEAH11!

We were all surprised the episode came out so early, yet guess what, it's short and not filled with action as E.1 and 3. IMO, that's a big shame, an episode that's next to last gets rushed so quick and doesn't give the players excitement is one of the biggest stupid shit ever. People are now probably waiting for E.5 because they are ANTICIPATING action, an ending that's gonna give their customers something great, because, HELL, it's the LAST episode in the season, BUT NOT because episode 4 gave a really good motivation. Very disappointed.

''We looked at cool stuff today in the office and we can't wait to share them soon!" - such a cool sentence too

Keep going, Telltale, you're reaching the top slowly.

I blame having too much on their plates, script changes, and just rushing.
  • this episode was AWESOME!
  • Similar to Woodsman v Bigby

    And the action?

What moves me is the story, I didn't love the ending, kind of wish there was more to it, fell abrupt. But the conversation's in my opinion were great and thats where this game makes its hay day. Going full wolf is fucking awesome, I agree, but if you are playing this game for just action or a lot of action, you picked the wrong game. It could've been better but I still liked this episode a lot. The plot was moved along very well, and it seems like we are going to get a bloody good finally.
Don't go into the episode thinking it is shit....because its not.

    8.5/10

  • Your comment gives me hope. I'm kind of surprised by the negative reaction this episode is getting...then again, the only major complaint I saw was the length of the episode,75 minutes, right?

Still, episode 3 was around the same length and people loved it. I'm gonna play the episode with an open mind without watching any LP's while waiting, since I believe you'll look at the episode differently if you play it yourself, rather than watching it.

    i give it a 5/10

  • Haven't played it yet but these reviews are giving me mixed feelings....well, as long as it's better than episode two i'm fine.
  • Ep1 = Ep3 > Ep2 >> Ep4
scorewise: 10, 10, 8, 5 (my 10 doesn't mean perfect, just that I've enjoyed it fully; 5 means it was just plain mediocre).

    Disapointing :(

    I give 6/10

I'm not even sure if I wanna buy it tommorow and play it myself ( I watched a YouTube walktrough, couldn't help myself) because it was so lame :(

I'm sure the reviewers n IGN are gonna be like: Mindblowing! Awesome! Piece of art! 10/10! 5/5!

Because, you know, they are pretty close to telltale with the playing dead series and shit.

    ^This

Yeah telltale, what the fucking cool stuff, all I see is just a rushed piece of shit episode.

Only cool thing in this episode was the Jersey devil.

I'm starting to get REALLY mad at you, telltale. I have gaven MY money to YOU and you don't even apperciate it.

I really hope TWAU episode 5 and TWD episodes 4 & 5 are really something, or I stop giving my money to you.

FOCUS ON ONE GAME AT TIME TELLTALE, PLEASE.

I'm not too worried about this episode. To me. The preview always made it look like it was going to be more of a bridging gap episode (like Episode 2 was) I have a rather unpopular opinion... I liked Episode 2.

So if the episode is of that quality I'm not going to be annoyed at all. I had low expectations for Episode 2 (thanks to you guys actually) and I ended up really liking it. Will it be like that again? I sure hope so.

I agree with Furyius and I think he is spot on about the conversations between the characters being very strong in this episode.
