Obviously, when a person starts to breath it means that they are alive. It's not like you need an expert to inject adrenaline into the person's heart to save them, no, a simple reanimation is enough.
Or he was reanimating. Telltale said they wanted to leave that breath as ambiguous as possible, we'll never know if Kenny was justified in his actions. That was the whole point of that scene, how morally gray it was.
I love Kenny, but if he tries to guilt us into siding with him, I'll be super pissed. ("Lee always had my back, why don't you? or "Lee never backed me up, and look what happened to him.") Being his BFF in S1 was so stressful, haha.
I could see one of two scenarios playing out. The first would be a parallel to the situation with Larry in the meat locker - Kenny wants to put someone down, another person disagrees, and Clem has to make the final decision. I could see this happening with Carlos and Sarah. Maybe Carlos dies and Kenny wants to put him down before he reanimates. Sarah is completely hysterical and begging him not to do it. As Clem, you can choose between helping Kenny, or sparing Carlos for Sarah's sake.
The other scenario I could see happening is Kenny wanting to kill someone completely out of vengeance (hence the "You don't need to see this"). As Clem, you could choose to help Kenny/look the other way, or try to stop him.
Remember the preview for the EP3 slide? It shows Clem and Rebecca in a room that looks sort of like the meat locker. I'm wondering if we wil… morel have something similar happen where we get trapped, but we have to help Rebecca with the baby. That or Kenny is bringing the salt licks back, haha.

Kenny tells Clem to go Kenny will stop Rebecca from turning
