[Fanfiction] Beyond Horror Part 1
This fanfiction follows the story of Boyd, Vernon, Clive, and Joyce during and after stealing the boat.
This is part one of many.
Characters that are speaking will be put in brackets
Example:
[Boyd] This is an example speech.
The Walking Dead: Beyond Horror (Episode 1: That Guy With The Beard)
[Boyd] I really don't want to do this, Vernon. What did they do to us?
[Vernon] Boyd, you know as well as I do that we HAVE to do this. There's no other way.
Vernon, Boyd, Joyce and Clive crouched outside the shed containing the boat at the mansion. Kenny stood alone, guarding against walkers. He didn't expect a group of cancer patients to jump him, not now, not ever.
Clive crept to the door and poked his head around the corner.
[Clive] (whispering) It's just the one guy. That guy with the beard.
[Vernon] Everyone ready?
Boyd and Joyce frowned. They didn't want to steal the boat, or beat up Kenny. Clive didn't really want to either, however he, along with Vernon, thought it was the only choice. Vernon had been acting strange ever since Brie's death. He claimed it didn't effect him, but he missed her, deeply.
Vernon, Clive and Boyd jump out at Kenny. Joyce is still a bit weak, so she watches
[Kenny] AAAAHW-FU-STOP!
Vernon and Clive continue beating him, as Joyce and Boyd prepare the boat to be taken
A few minutes later
[Joyce] Vern, did you even THINK about how we're going to roll this thing through a city filled with those...monsters?
[Vernon] It doesn't matter right now. Let's just get to the water.
[Joyce] It DOES matter. We'll die out here!
[Boyd] It was a dumb plan in the first place. Vernon, we need to-
[Clive] Holy shit.
A large group of a few hundred walkers approaches the group of 4. Clive, Boyd and Joyce flee, but Vernon refuses to go.
[Joyce] VERNON, COME ON! THEY'LL EAT YOU ALIVE! THEY'LL KILL YOU! THEY'LL-
Boyd grabs Joyce's shoulder
[Boyd] Joyce, Vern's long gone. I'm sorry, but he's not going to leave that boat. Come on, we need to catch up with Clive.
Joyce runs off with Boyd, face covered in tears.
The trio lock themselves in a nearby gas station store
[Joyce] Vernon...he could've made it out, right? Maybe he... (Her voice trails off)
The three all pondered over what to do next. Eventually, they decided that they would stay in the store for the night.
The next morning...
Clive was first to wake up. He went outside to check on the walker situation.
[Clive] Christ. Is this for real?
Clive looked off into the distance, soon joined by Boyd and Joyce who had just awakened. In front of them stood a giant supermarket, called Vinyel's. A nearby sign was painted over with words.
SAFETY AHEAD-NO WALKERS-ALL ALIVE-VINYEL'S
[Joyce] Do you think it's really safe?
[Boyd] Let's scout it first. I don't want a repeat of Crawford.
The group found a small building that could lead them to some hills around the market. Broken glass display cases and blood was everywhere. A familiar corpse lay on the floor, a single bullet through it's head.
[Boyd] Oh my god...Lee...
[Joyce] This is that guy...he helped get my medicine...
The three paid their respects, and went out through the back door, passing a dead police walker on the way. They went on around the market, to a point that allowed them to see the roof. A single man with a rifle stood on guard.
[Clive] Well...it LOOKS safe enough...
[Joyce] Are you kidding? A single guard!
[Boyd] We don't know how many people they even HAVE, Joyce!
The trio eventually decided to enter. The trio held their breath, and approached the gate.

I'll post the next part on a different thread. I'm going to work on it right now. I'll try to make it longer, but my attention span tends to be a bit short sometimes.
Also, a little teaser for the next part: You might want to look on the Walking Dead wiki to learn about some of Carver's camp guards whose names are only revealed through game files.
Ah okay. Can't wait! I'll look into those characters!
