Losing an eye is one of the worst things to happen

So we all know Kenny is now supa gorked. But really he will now become a burden to the group. His shooting skills will deteriorate due to his perception lowering and his spacial awareness will be lowered. Meaning that anything can get the jump on him leaving us to save him. So what does everyone think?

His shooting skills seem to be ok as he managed to shoot Carver in the knee without any problems, walkers might sneak up on his blind side.
Some one talked about US having to remove his eye... OH no... I can deal with the arm but not an eye.
He could always do what Gutts did and compensate with hearing. Although that would eventually deteriorate because of gunshots without any ear protection.
I'm pretty sure Telltale is not going to dwell into the consequences of Kenny losing an eye, especially since Kenny had no problems kneecapping Carver as shown above.
When a person loses an eye, the other remaining eye will soon be able to see better than before. Of course he will never be able to see as good as before, but the difference is not as great as some people might be thinking. Walkers might sneak up on his blind side, for the first couple of weeks though.
But did Kenny really lose the eye?
Well, like Ozzy said, he was able to shoot both of Carver's knees.
Hopefully not XD
^ This pretty much sums up what I was gonna say :P
And Kenny's accuracy seems fine with the whole kneecapping Carver thing.
Kenny is a fully fledged bad ass, walkers can't do nothing.
Yeah because if you can't tell between a dog bite and a walker bite, I don't think you're qualified to be able to say that he will never use his eye again.
It's possible he didn't. Eyes can heal. Losing an eye in a fist fight is... unlikely. But it is The Walking Dead.
also, y'know, a doctor said that him losing it was likely.
Well, he could still recover.
It definitely SHOULD have an impact. It better not be like the TV show where the governor gets an eyepatch and the vision impairment is never mentioned again. I'm functionally blind in one eye, myself; and I've worked with people with vision loss as well. There's a bunch of issues that might not be very obvious.
.
Without depth perception, it's easy to miss obstacles. Branches, roots or uneven sidewalk can cause a nice faceplant, unless he's careful. It also makes it impossible to aim certain kinds of guns. Pistols and other 'open-sight' firearms are fine, but Kenny's done using hunting rifles unless they're scoped.
Approaching a cyclops in his/her blind spot is a bad fucking idea. We're very touchy about people getting the drop on us. Kenny would probably react violently if someone touched him or made an unexpected noise on his bad side, whether it's a walker or a friend. I'm just about at the point where I can resist the startle reflex, but I've been dealing with it for 22 years.
Sudden vision loss can make people cranky and bitter. It was hard for me to understand at first, since I was vision-impaired from birth; but losing your eyesight is way worse than not having it to begin with. It's frustrating to be forced to learn to do things a completely new way. Unfortunately, a lot of people with traumatic vision loss take it out on their family and friends. Kenny is liable to be even more short-tempered next episode. Don't be surprised if he flies off the handle over petty bullshit...y'know, more than he usually does.
People with sudden vision loss tend to see things that aren't there. It's because the brain is digging through their memory and trying to fill the gap with something...anything. My grandpa has macular degeneration and he started seeing dead family members standing over him. If Kenny saw something like Katjaa or Duck, it would probably freak him out and make him think he's going nuts.
.
Sorry, if I'm rambling, it's a subject I'm well informed about. It will be interesting to see if Kenny shows any of these signs.
He Could, but personally I respect a doctor's opinion more than pure chance (not to say that chance favours him anyway).
He didn't lose it to a fistfight. Carver bludgeoned him with the walkie talkie, which doesn't give way like a fist does.
Well, eyes are typically lost when gouged, shot out or during extreme accidents (like car crashes) and diseases.
I am sorry about your eye and this is very interesting. I didnt know about last one. Brain is an amazing thing. You are starting to have hallucinations if you are in a dark for a long time too. With Kenny losing an eye telltale can do alot of interesting things but I dont think they will.
True, but he doesn't need to lose the eye to lose his ability to use of it. There's all sorts of small components like the retina, optic nerve and connecting blood vessels.
Also, bludgeoning CAN cause eyeballs to rupture if done with enough force. The results are pretty gruesome.
Heh, thanks. It's not a huge disability (especially when you're born with it). The "how many fingers am I holding up?" question does get old after awhile.
The brain is pretty damn cool. My optic nerve is defective, so even in my good eye, I usually have floaters and specks across my field of vision (like a film projection in an old movie theatre). A rarely notice it because my brain does such a good job of filling in the gaps.
This comment contains spoilers for the comic book by the way and possibly the future of the television show, so please don't look at it unless you don't care or are up to date with the comics.
In the comics, Carl loses one of his eyes, and later there is a situation in which Michonne has to save Carl who did not see a walker in his "blind spot" so possibly the same thing could happpen here.
Nothing is worse than losing both eyes that's for sure
not at all, you brought a little bit of sobriety to the topic.
