Update on my old post. I'm fairly certain I don't have Asperger's, but I still find it hard to be relaxed when talking to others, except with people I really know. Most people either don't notice or don't say anything about it. There's a girl at school I really like, and I feel really tense when talking to her, but she doesn't seem to mind.
Everybody's jittery talking to people they don't really know, Asperger's or not. That is, unless there's an obvious subject, like, "Wow, did you see that goal????" Girls tend to react positively if you compliment something they're wearing or something you saw them do. Figuring out what to say and hiding how nervous you were at first comes with practice.

Autism is a disorder you're born with. Basically, your brain cells are wired differently so that you develop a lot differently than a neuro typical (non autistic people) would. It has a genetic basis, so it's passe on from generation to generation. Asperger's, which I have, is a bit different in that we have VERY specific ans narrow interests (for me, TWD, Star Wars, chemistry, astronomy, etc.) We have difficulty with nonverbal communication (reading body language) and social interaction. We lack empathy. Somee of us will only talk with specific people or people that we like (which is what I do).
This is an incomplete list, but it shouls get the basics to you.
Yep, what he/she said. And what do you mean specific people? Hmmmm... haven't heard that one before but now that you mention it... I kinda have did that... or still do... my fave shit to do is geography, history and all dat. I usually change my interests once #j\a year but TWD will always stay.

I certainly can't stay on one interest for more than a couple of months. Maximum. Eventhough I'm a HUGE Mass Effect fan, And I have to replay the trilogy every once and a while, Sometimes, i just need a break. I can't bare it that way to be entitled to one thing. But i appreciate you taking the time to explain it to me.

It's called selective mutism. According to Wikipedia, it's when we speak to certain people and rarely speak to anyone else. I have this. I don't talk to my family very much, although I'm not sure which bits are just me being a teenager and which bits are part of selective mutism.

No, I'm just despressed and I have some problems with getting to know with a new people because I'm little shy. But with people I know well I'm fucking crazy and I talk and laugh much.
Some people were suprised when they got to know me better because when I met them I hardly talked and just looked at the floor all the time
Looking at the floor is a bad habit, don't do it! It takes forever to break the habit, but keeping your head up makes you seem alot more confident and approachable.

Yeah, I know it looks stupid and I don't do it much anymore
I usually don't speak with anyone new because I'm worried they don't like me but I've relaized that people don't like me if I just stay quiet.
It's still hard to me tho, but I try my best.

Not looking at the floor, but I have issues with eye contact, sometimes with people I talk to every day. I communicate well (or I like to think so) but usually am more comfortable if we're both focused on something else other than each other. It's not a constant issue, but it comes up. Just feels weird to me.
That being said I'm not sure averting eyes is a surefire symptom by any chance, because most mental disorders or conditions don't... really have those. There are plenty of symptoms of other issues that cross over, and it may not be related to anything else.
No, I don't have anything, I'm just shy and I have the same eye contact problem that Arsonist has. But as I said, I don't do it anymore I'm more confident now days, I keep my head up.
I'm very social and same like everyone else, but I'm just little shy.
From what I've heard, it's usually an anxiety issue. I have eye-contact problems too, just for different reasons. (I tilt my head to the side to look straight ahead). I'm pretty good at faking it, but things can get kinda awkward when I meet new people.
Then I gotta have "the talk" with them and it gets even more awkward.

I wear socks and so do criminals. Does that make me a criminal too?
I don't look at the floor often, just when there's room full of new people or people I don't like, then i sometimes keep my head down. I'm just shy with a new people.
Yes, but I do that too! I have it and do that so you do too. Every person with Aspergers has that, that's the whole fucking point of having it. You have fucking obsessions and shit too but a lot of people do. Main things of Aspergers is eye contact and scared of trying new things. Hobbies and shit is just an extra. Nothing serious there.

Cod, I really don't mean any offense here, but this is why I'm usually leery of self diagnosis when it comes to mental disorders. I'm not saying you or anyone else that's been brave enough to talk about their own little ticks and real problems in this thread is wrong, but to my knowledge Asbergers is a lot more than not wanting to make contact or being introverted. There have been some great posts by people here about how they really don't get a lot of unwritten social cues and can't really relate to people the same way others can, which to my knowledge are far more indicative of what the real problem is and what makes the problem difficult in their lives. By comparison, not making eye contact or being slightly drawn back in extremely populated social situations is relatively minimal to those more important issues.
That was the point VoK was getting at was just because he has one symptom that is actually a symptom of a symptom doesn't mean that he necessarily has the disorder. Which I think is a fairly good distinction to make - as stated, I'm extremely paranoid and have light issues with eye contact... but I actually do pretty well in social situations and have never had problems with communication or empathy. Someone made the point of stating that my particular symptom is very common with anxiety issues, which... absolutely makes sense to me. That definitely is something I have issues with, and is probably a better place to start a diagnosis in my particular case with the other symptoms I have.
TLDR - Like I said above, one thing does not mean many things, and as an aside, I don't think he was meaning to be standoffish with his last comment.

This seems... much more likely than some of the other disorders and problems that people have talked about in this thread. I absolutely believe I have anxiety issues to the point where if I say or do something that I think is wrong, even if it's minor, I will spend hours, sometimes days zeroing in on it and panicking about it. That being said it's something I try to break myself of, but it's an easy thing to forget you're doing until after you finish a conversation, walk away and go "Holy S*** I didn't look them in the eyes one time during that entire 10 minute conversation." Hopefully your working on it goes better than mine.

Yeah but I don't have any anger issues or anything. I like to try new things and I also have hobbies.
I only look at the floor when I'm nerveous or feel uncomfortable around new people.

Firstly, Sorry I'm late. Didn't notice your comment until now.
Secondly, I take my condition more on a philosophical way of thinking. People make friends so that they could release their creative energy. To me, A computer is a massive creativity release. That's why I don't like the outdoors. Not because i was bullied or anything, It just lets me be creative infinitely. Being in an entitled community strict your ingenuity.
Thirdly, I'm not the all-Philosophy kind of guy, But i believe the union of Philosophy and Science would lead you to the truth. Only one of them isn't enough.

I tend to stay alone, That's not supposed to be a disease.
Being an introvert or lone wolf is different from having Asperger's or autism.
Can you tell me the difference? "Not mocking you, Actually would like to know".

I have been diagnosed with Atypical Autism.
No
K then
You asked
NOPE. I do not have autism or any form of it.

Never been diagnosed with anything, but I'm more than a little neurotic/paranoid and have a fairly strong genetic predisposition for depression.
