Anyone else think Pete died too early?

I do, he was one of the only characters i could relate with at the cabin group because he likes hunting and so do i, so it sucked when he was killed. Poor Pete, why oh why did you have to die? I ask the sky, for the reason why. The answers come like rain, to quick to grasp the reason why we remain.

Pete- "Sometimes you have to play a role, even if the people who love you hate you for it. "

So True.

The same goes for Walter. Telltale kills off good characters faster than George R.R Martin can.

  • People die after giving important lessons or for being too nice... Telltale logic

  • Pete died too early, he was awesome, RIP Peter Joseph Randall, #RememberPete

  • Oh yeah totally agree about Walt. I liked him a lot, a little naive but you can't blame him for being kind.

  • Most characters in Season 2 have died too early sadly.

Characters like Omid, Pete, Walt, and Carver.

  • And he could have been a Saltlick buddy with Kenny, so much potential wasted.... #RememberPete

ya dude wish he made it to the sky lodge and had a fist fight with carver.

"He kept things light. You need folks like that it's easy to let depression sink in during times like this."

How ironic... i'm actually quoting Carver

  • I liked the way he saw the world, even though i didn't agree with him, or couldn't see it the same way he does, i still thought it was pretty awesome how he still saw the good in people till the very end.

  • He would have been able to turn off that wind-turbine.

  • I think so. He was too nice to last forever, but I think that near the end of Episode 2 or sometime during Episode 3 would have been a good time for him to go. Even though he's dead, he's still my second favorite member of the Cabin group.

  • I wish Pete had lived longer. He was one of those characters that i liked and trusted from the very first moment you meet him. There could have been some cool scenes between him and Carver too.

  • Damnit Pete I'm still upset ;_;

I remember hoping in vain that somehow he really did trip and it wasn't a bite, or we would be able to amputate his foot off, or he would survive... but we all know TellTale's history with determinant characters.

Really wished he lived a bit longer though.

  • Aww, that was beautiful

  • Pete is resting in peace 'cause he met no Carver again

  • I really enjoyed the dynamic between him and Nick. Along with the thing about Nick's mom, that whole family was just so fascinating and well-written. Unlike a lot of other characters in Season 2, I just really got an understanding of who they were. They felt so real and so complicated.

In my opinion it's a real waste that such a well-developed family were all written out of the plot so early on.

  • If he was still alive at the lodge in episode 2, maybe it could have been a choice to choose between having carver shoot pete or walter after kenny killed johnny. I know it would add to the already massive list of determinant characters, but that would have been a great loyalty choice, having to choose to save pete(someone from the cabin group), or walter(someone from kenny's group).

  • Pete was the nicest guy in the Cabin group :( I wish ... I could ... I thought , I could save him ...

  • Reggie too!

  • He was nice, so i prepared for him to die. Because all nice characters in this game die. :(

  • In the walking dead, everyone dies too earlier than they should.

  • I also feel Pete died to soon.
    I liked Pete!
And was frankly looking forward to having him around for the rest of the season, and beyond.

And on that note, I think Pete, and Kenny, would have been the best group leaders.
I think Kenny would've had high respect for Pete.
And I think they would've become the best of friends, much like Kenny and Lee were, ( At least in my playthrough).

  • I always thought that, he was and still is one of my favorite characters.

  • Actually, they probably would have hated each other at first. Pete wouldn't have stood for Kenny insulting Nick like that, as well as disliking Kenny's tendency to act without thinking. Though I imagine that Pete, just like Nick, would gain respect for Kenny after the beatdown that Carver gave him and they'd put aside whatever bad blood there may have been between them.

    I can see that happening.
However, Pete in some ways reminded me of Lee.
That's why I say they would've probably gotten along real good.

And possibly, with Pete there, that argument between Kenny and Nick would've never happened in the first place.
Since Pete would've still been leading the group, I don't think Nick would've been as outspoken as he was.
More than likely Kenny would've discussed his plan with Pete.

And if Pete saw any fault in the idea, he would've voiced it in a way that would not have offended Kenny.
Unlike Nick, who said Kenny's whole idea was "bullshit."
And quite frankly, I don't blame Kenny forgetting upset with Nick, as Nick's response was highly disrespectful.

    Pete.
    Walter.
    Reggie.

These people had some chips on their shoulders. A sister lost, a limb gone, a partner killed. But they smiled, were kind, and kept on believing in some hope. Pete would die to guard Clementine from zombies in some games. Walter would forgive his lover's killer and be put on his knees to be shot in some games. And Reggie would always look on the bright side until the pavement hit him.

I'm only waiting for more causalities. I hate to say it but...I'm banking on Kenny in episode 4.

  • Why all of my favorite characters die so early? Pete, Walter, Carver, Carlos... :'(

  • Only difference is Kenny survived more than 2 episodes :(

I was wondering if this line may of had a double meaning, maybe it was foreshadowing his death, maybe his death was used to bring change in Nick, i will be sad if they kill Nick off next episode. Well sad for me.

  • Nick may be a double determinant character, Season 1, Season 2 and the DLCs would greatly affect Future seasons if we got the choice of letting characters live till next season

  • They killed him for Nicks character development

  • I will be mad if the writers Kill Nick off , Pete deserves a great legacy. At least a season.

  • Prink is right, they can change they're ways, there isnt some code for character death that Telltale has to follow

  • There have been many minor determinant characters that could still be alive
