I just wanna survive, and that means picking the right sides.
In the trailer for TWD season 2 episode 4 luke says: "I look at Kenny now, and he seems broken. I just wanna survive. and that means picking the right sides." Do you think He'll suggest abandoning/kiling Kenny? or maybe just leaving in the night? Or will he suggest we stick with him?

Jane suggested the same thing. I would let Kenny... be at peace.
Kenny deserves to be happy, I just think he's tired of living now.
Luke is Coward i'm not gonna trust him kenny and Bonnie and Jane is who deserve the trust

Clementine is just a little girl, if Kenny doesn't want to live, I fully understand that. I won't let him drag Clem down.
Already started that thread with the same title lol
How is Luke a coward?
Didn't Luke say the most important thing is family, and to a lot of people Kenny is family. I won't leave him behind.
They're most likely going to say b/c Luke always disappears when the group is in trouble.
We don't know the full context of the scene yet, so I can't really make any calls. Luke might have valid reasons for what he's saying here, but I'm going to try and convince him to reconsider and help with Kenny.
I hope Clem has the option to mention that to him in response. A callback to their conversation about "family". And then he'll reconsider.
Luke doesn't seem like he's willing to make the hard decisions it takes to survive and from previous episodes he doesn't seem dedicated to protecting clem so Kenny seems like the way to go right now
How is Luke not "dedicated" to protecting Clem?"
EP1: He saved her from the walkers when they first met and defended her when Nick, Rebecca and Carlos put her in the shed.
EP2: He goes looking for her when she, Nick and Pete go missing for a day. He shields her during the confrontation between Nick and Matthew.
EP3: He crosses a whole state to get back to her and the rest of the group when they get taken by Carver
Luke and the others have done plenty for Clem, it's obvious that he (and the others) care for her too. It's not just Kenny.
EP1: Yeah he defended her but he still allowed her to be locked in there
EP2: had her cross a bridge full of walkers with him which she almost died doing
EP3: when they all got caught by carver a guard punched clem and Luke did nothing
I wasn't saying Kenny's the only person that cares about her i'm just saying I would pick kenny over luke
oh! sorry about that.
Luke has become a little bitch so I'll stick with my boy Kenny all the way.
EP1: He was outnumbered/overruled by the group. But he tried, so he gets points for effort in my eyes. And he does eventually goes out there to check on her.
EP2: Going anywhere in the Zombie apocalypse is going to be risky and Clem was the only other capable person to go with Luke across the bridge. Alvin couldn't go because he has Rebecca to look after, Carlos had Sarah, and Nick was still grieving over Pete's death. Personally, I consider it a compliment that Luke trusts in Clem and her abilities so much to accompany him across the bridge. And throughout the whole thing, he's guiding her and reassuring her. When he's falling off the bridge, Luke tells Clem not to worry and that they'll find another way. And he also warns her about the walker that's creeping up behind her.
EP3: Are you talking about when Troy hit her during Kenny's beating? What was he supposed to do? They're surrounded by Carver and his men and they have guns trained on them.
It's okay that you prefer Kenny over Luke, but don't make generalizations about Luke's character saying that he's "not dedicated to protecting Clem," especially when they are not true.
And then he continued to argue that they should let her out, fix her arm, and apologize "for being assholes".
You're forgetting all the dangerous stuff Lee and Clem did together in season one. Stuff that we as players allowed (such as bringing her to Crawford, if you did, and the train station) and was arguably much worse than the idea of crossing a bridge. Besides, Luke had a plan of turning back if there were too many walkers.
Because that would achieve nothing? He would just get even more hurt, and he was already starving and exhausted.
To answer your question, it sounds like he's suggesting we consider something that doesn't have Kenny's best interests at heart. Luke definitely wouldn't up and kill Kenny, but abandoning him could be in his plans. That would be incredibly heartless though, and I doubt Luke would suggest that. Unless Kenny just decides to sit down and never get up again....
I found this line about surviving and choosing sides very odd coming from Luke. After all, Luke was the one to remind Clem of the importance of family. "I just wanna survive" is a somewhat selfish thing to say, just like "Maybe I'm playing Devil's advocate...we should leave some people behind...." Not to mention, "I just wanna survive" is a lot less optimistic than Luke's usual lines. Perhaps things have just gotten a lot more dire, and they're having this conversation after more character deaths (Sarita, Rebecca, the baby even?). Or maybe Nick's (determinant) death has finally hit Luke, and he has to take a breath and stop "moving" as Nick would say.
About the "Family's important" line though--Luke doesn't consider Kenny to be his family, and the same vice versa. The only time they do talk, they're just disagreeing about what steps to take next.
I'm wondering if Luke is referring to specific "sides" of a decision we'll encounter in ep 4 instead of hypothetically (yeah, I know pizza vs. ice cream is in ep 5, but maybe a separate decision here). It sounds like Kenny is against him. It also seems like Kenny is a lot more hopeless than before, so I wonder what side he could be sticking to with such stubbornness. Or maybe Kenny's not even aware of this decision.
I'm guessing that maybe Kenny wants to go to Wellington, and maybe Luke wants to hunker down for the winter somewhere rather than travel through the cold and potentially freeze to death. Luke didn't sound too keen on Wellington back in "A House Divided," and he's more likely to think things through (where will they stop on the way? what if there's no food in the frozen wilderness?) compared to Kenny. Kenny's probably pretty sore about losing his whole group (Walter, Matthew, Sarita?) and might want to take Clem to Wellington by himself just to get away from the cabin group survivors, though I'm sure he wouldn't care about Mike or Jane coming.
Or, maybe some new characters (400 Days?) will make their appearance and siding with them could be one supposed "side"? Or it could be some completely different decision.
we don't know full context, it doesn't make him a coward.
Plus exhausting yourself and sneaking into a hostile compound to rescue your friends isn't cowardly at all.
He's disappeared ONCE so far and we don't even know why.
Luke is useless
If someone said that to me, my first question would be: "So what's your idea of the 'right side'?"
When i read the name "Luke" the first word that comes to my mind is "shitbird"
Easy choice, I pick Luke
Kenny is too ruthless.
his plans mostly fail.
His actions led to Walter's death
Kenny tried shooting Carver and his crew in "A house divided" which resulted to Walter's death and could even get Alvin killed.
He decided to stay behind and torture Carver instead of leaving.
This is a no brainer, Luke is a better person in almost everyway
For the first time ever I agree with you .
Looks like we have a troll.
Useless is too good for that selfish coward
Kenny's appeared broken before (remember how horrible he looked towards the end of S1?), but he found a way to keep going despite everything.
I'd say losing Sarita would make Kenny even more hellbent on protecting Clem...which could be a serious problem.
How about just
and no team at all
Yes I agree with Kenny protecting Clem which is going to be a big problem.
Clementine is Kenny's connection to humanity. Any option to console, encourage, or help Kenny in any way deserves to be chosen. Although, by how depressed he seems in the EP4 trailer and how one of EP4 achievements is "surviving the attack", I think Kenny might sacrifice himself for the group. It's so sad...
I look over some of the comments on the forum, especially the ones involving Luke and I can't help but laugh. People go to extreme lengths to bash Luke's character and give little to no reason as to why they do so. The word "coward" is very often used to describe his character mainly because of his little vanishing act, one to which we don't know the full context. Still, I say he makes up for it when he decides to follow the group back to the camp risking his life in the process when he could have easily choose to walk away.
About what he says in the trailer, I think he points out the fact that Kenny is a time bomb and he would rather not be around him when he explodes....rightfully so if you ask me. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, since I don't think a choice between Kenny and Luke will happen in this episode.
I think he may be giving clem a choice. I doubt he wants to kill kenny, or happily leave him.
Me neither. Luke doesn't seem like the type of person to take pleasure out of stuff like this. He didn't even want to kill Carver, why would he be happy about leaving Kenny? I think it will be more that Luke feels they have to.
I still can't imagine him just abandoning him one day. It could just be more of a warning to clementine, but I guess we'll find out next week.
If Kenny wants to give up of... living... I guess I will have nothing against it, since I think that he needs... peace... for his live, is just to much for him.
Although I don't agree on leaving kenny behind, you do have a good point.
The fanboy is strong with this one.
It's our opinion... Luke sucks and you are no one to change that
Luke is a little insect and should die
