He was an important character in episodes 1 & 2, it would be a shame if his death was offhand and pointless. I get that he's a determinant character, but what's the point of saving him if he does nothing further for the story besides look angry in the background, say a few snide comment, then die a meaningless death?
So while I doubt that Nick will make it past episode 4, I hope that he will have a few moments to shine and that his death will bring something to the story. I'd like for him to have a heroic death where he can redeem himself (still bummed that Ben never got a chance to do this last season), but I'd also be okay with him having a tragic or accidental death, but his death having a huge impact on some of the characters (like Luke or Kenny).
That's a good point. But in episode 3, Nick was agreeing with Luke's ideas and said he was making sense. Maybe a lack of Nick will push Luke to make those same choices because he knew Nick would agree with him.
When I first heard these words that Uncle Pete Pete told to Nick at the end of episode 1 "That nobody in this world is ever gonna give a goddamn whether you like something or not. You gotta grow up son" I thought that would have been a pretty large story arc and that Nick would've been an important character. Now, he's determinant and he became a lamppost that the group carries around. I just want Nick to learn the lesson that Pete wanted Nick to learn, even if that's the last thing Nick ever does.
There's a crazy theory over Tumblr saying that the statue figure, who's holding a wounded soldier, looks a lot like Nick...
Now the theor… morey was that is supposed to foreshadow how Nick will try and save someone...like Kenny who ,I think, is on the edge of death.
I can see this happening for the sake of Nick redeeming himself.
Telltale will never have a determinant character be relevant, but I hope they won't just lazily kill him off. The best we can hope for is that he gets separated from the group and remains unknown.
Didn't Kenny...like sacrificed himself in the last episode for Clementine when Craver was asking about the walkie-talkies
I thought that Kenny has a purpose:Protect Clementine this Season.Last Season was the boat. And I really don't get it why is he acting like this now when (possibly) his girlfriend died...he should've been like this when Katjaa & Duck died...I guess he cant take it any more
I thought that if you wanted to survive longer, you have to find new reasons to fight for.I thought he wants to protect Clem
I think he was just in denial when Duck was bitten then shortly after they died he was just depressed and wanted to keep to himself. Maybe losing Sarita is the last straw for him.
Plot hole

hell, a character flop would be interesting. if you "saved" nick, luke dies, and then nick steps up. would certainly be a different spin on determinant deaths, atleast.
Back in Season 1 episode 4's trailer, Ben wasn't shown in the trailer so a lot of people thought he would die but he could (by choice) be in… more the last episode but he wasn't a determinant at that time.
Honestly, Nick could add more respect to himself if he doesn't die in this episode because think about it, how many characters who have been a determinant character lasted this long? They could alwayshave him die somehow and make it effect Luke, kind've likehow it effected Kenny back in season 1. I think it would be a good idea because Luke fans would be asked the question "If Luke turned more negative and more angry because Nick died" Then it would make them think twice about how theysee him. That's whattheydid with Kenny in Season 1.
But, i hope Nick doesn't die. His a good character.

I personally think it is better to leave some people with an unknown status. It feels more "realistic": you can't always know what happens to every person you meet. Plus, leaving a few things open to speculation never hurts. I think Ben could be relevant since it was the very last episode of the season.

Ehhh, I'd much rather have him have a few key … morepoints in the episode and have him die a valiant, heroic death, if he must die.

I'd say Ben was a pretty relevant determinant character, I mean, he basically changed an entire 3 or 4 scenes of episode 5.

I really hope Nick lives through ep4, even if it's just with a few lines here an there (hopefully more than in ep3).
However if Telltale where to kill him off I think they could pull off a pretty "nice" death. Like him saving the ass of maybe Clementine, Kenny which would be really touching considering that he seems to have somewhat bonded with Kenny and are (for most players) close with Clementine.
If Nick's dead though they could always sigh replace his character design with another alive character who will simply survive the rescue.
The scene will be a bit shorter and obviously not as sad. So yeah, there will be a noticable difference but that one which would be too hard to go through with.
I assume his role will be slim and he'll die, but I hope I'm wrong. If he doesn't get much screen time and dies I at least hope it'll be worthy of him.

It had something to do with Walt (I think that's his name) He didn't save Nick when a walker was grabbing onto him because Nick was an idiot and killed his boyfriend. Walt can save him but I failed to do so.

Did you stay silent, or say that Nick was like everyone else? Those are the only ways to get him killed. If you say he's a good guy, then Walter saves him.

He dies in the beginning (gets bitten while escaping Carvers camp or something) or in the end (he might survive to E5 but how likely?)
VERY STRONG #SAVENICK FROM HERE, MA BAE IS NOT GOING TO DIE
I never got why Nick was a kill able character. His story is so developed and he has a lot of interesting interactions with Clem. The fact others see him as a screw up means there is a valid reason for Clem to be taking the lead if they double up or for her advice to be taken over his. His lack of confidence will mean Clem can lead Decisions...it just makes sense.

Nick is a well-developed character. For probably his entire life, he has lived in the shadow of Pete, and to an extent, Luke. In attempting to establish his unique identity, he has been juxtaposed to the other males in his vicinity, berated, and patronized, and possibly been on the receiving end of condescension. His actions/reactions are his ways of coping since he cannot compete (from his perspective).
He had to kill his mother, was genuinely apologetic towards Clementine, and demonstrated remorse. His values allow him to do the right thing.
Maybe he will become his own man. Maybe he will have a "Ben" moment, advocate for himself and confront Luke about the status of their friendship. If Episode 4 is his finale, I hope that he will have a profound impact upon the others, Clementine in particular.

Nick should've never been made into a determinant character.

It just seems like Kenny doesn't care whether he lives or dies anymore.
"Fallen, but Never Forsaken...." Hopefully Kenny's motto this episode.
Nick will be still determinant character, twice. or maybe this scene will be Nick's Sacrifice and nick survived.

Very true...but I feel Nick deserves a good ending.

So if Nick isn't there, they replace him with someone like Bonnie or Mike, but they live? Hmmm...interesting.
Well yeah, or they die instead but in the playthroughs without Nick they die in another way! Just so the stories get a bit more in synch or how to say
Nick died in Episode 2 for me. I feel like I'm missing out on a good character, everyone keeps talking about him.
How could you just have him killed?
You should replay on another save file with him saved, then. See if you like that ending![:p :p](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
Some people make mistakes and don't like rewinding coz it feels like cheating...
They could just replay the season on another file...
I ususally do that once the season is over, I'm going to work hard to keep him alive this time.

Telling Walter that Nick is a good man is how you get Walter to shoot the walker.

Nick was made a killable character to play with our feelings ;__;
If Nick makes it all the way to episode 5, he'll have officially won the record of longest surviving determinant character to date.
He deserves it

Think about it, less lines in ep3 and he will follow Sarah along with Luke, as hinted bu the unused lines. Nick might die in ATR.
It's sad, seeing how he didn't have any role in episode 4 and even died off screen.
Nick's role was about what I expected it to be... sadly.
