Was it okay for Chuck to tell Clementine that she was going to end up dead?
...Or end up like Duck?
In my opinion, I felt it was wrong.
Clementine just witnessed her friend being carried into the woods to be put out of his misery. She didn't deserve to have any more crap put on her back to worry about. The timing was absolutely horrible, and she's a little girl.
Yes, Chuck did end up doing it for Clementine's sake, and he did make a very, very good point. But the way he did it was very wrong.
Chuck is not Clem's father. He just met her, and taking her into his own hands and telling her she was going to die was wrong of him to do. He could have put it a bit more nicely.
Now, I don't support those stupid soccer moms who spoil their kids and lie to them for their own sake and treat them like they're perfect and let them do whatever they want and sugarcoat stuff, but Chuck went over the line.
Clementine became Lee's responsibility when he found her alone in the house. Clem's parents were obviously dead and if anyone was going to look after her, it was going to be Lee. Chuck should've gone to Lee about this, not the eight year old who just saw her friend die.
What do you guys think?
**NOTE I don't hate Chuck. He did his best and he died for Clementine. Love him!

I was still a bit annoyed at him afterwards but then I remembered, he's a homeless drunk lol
He should have said those things to Lee, not to Clementine.
I don't see it happening anytime soon, but it can happen.
You raise an interesting question. I do agree that the way he began approaching this situation might have been a bit wrong. However, since his words ultimately wound up making Lee teach Clem how to survive, I think that justifies it. Heck, Clem might not even be alive anymore if Chuck hadn't said that. So, I guess we can all thank Chuck for Clementine being around in Season Two.
"I don't know much about you folks, but you keep going like this and that girl ain't gonna make it. You gotta consider her a living person, that's it! You're either living or you're not. You ain't little, you ain't a girl, you ain't a boy, you ain't strong or smart, YOU'RE ALIVE." -Chuck
This pretty much sums up the whole reason why he said what he said and i agree with him.
