If I'm thinking about this right wasn't it Rooster Teeth that popularised the term "Let's Play" since they have a show called that? I love Markiplier's voice (as I've mentioned before and each time he speaks a part of me is awakened.)
I don't mind Lets Plays as much. Just as long as the person playing isn't a complete fucking moron, and isn't an annoying sack of turd. The … moreonly Lets Players I watch are Markiplier(and his friends) and Rooster Teeth. I generally like to watch them play the things I've played though, or if its a short funny flash/horror game of some sort.
Is the "Talking to chat" thing not more apparent with Twitch streaming, since the video is live and people can chat to each other while the game is being played and the streamer can communicate back with them, then once the stream is done they upload it to YouTube so that other people can watch the video as well. It sounds good but Twitch chat is either very funny or very annoying.
Really? That's a shame, it's just the character that he plays is less than enjoyable for certain demographics. That sucks that you don't like him. What do you like to look for in a Let's Play ?

Oh shit that's right! Man I'm dumb. I haven't watched those guys in a long while. I remember them when they just did achievement stuff. Now they do a wide array of shows. That is awesome.

No, I'd rather pick my own decision than watch someone else do it. My only LP'er I watch is TheRadBrad, even if he is a total git when it comes to playing the game.
Games are very expensive to buy, a new AAA title game in a console/pc would mostly cost 60$ bucks. You think about maybe getting 3 games on the same year and that would be 180$..hell you can buy a laptop with that...Unlike other people who would get monthly allowance from their parents or guardian as moneys source and save it up for future use, I had to ask my parents about what ever I wanted for myself.
But I am a cheapo person
Which is why I never asked them to buy me pc game or a console..and was more or so a mmorpg gamer. It hasn't been such a long time that I started playing pc games more frequently thanks to my sister spoiling me and steam sales
Inbetween those time of playing and not playing....yeah I watched LP's and spoiled myself of the games I knew I might not play..or will not be playing in a long time. X_X;
Lets play are one of the reason I have decided to get both walkingdeads1 and season 2. It was the spoilers that intrigued me to see the lets play of starved for help....other wise I usually stay away from dark horror and gore stuffs. I buy games to support the developers as much as I can and I watch LP after I am done with my play because spoilers sucks and they ruin the experience...something that I will always regret with Walking Dead season 1 and Mass Effect trilogy.

That's true, sometimes it's just best for people to watch if the budget they have is too close to maxing and the money is much more needed else where. Either that or they don't like playing games that much and still enjoy the story of certain games. I've been guilty of spoiling myself on video games as well with Lets Plays it sucks when you try to play the game and you know everything that's going to happen though.
Yeah I don't really like that either. One thing is that it can make some funny situations though, I like to explain why I'm doing things though I don't get why it's like I'm in automatic mode and I need to have a reason why I choose this option when I could have chosen this option. I used to do it during Driving Lessons and the Instructor would just be like "Yeah... Just make sure not to turn too early"
Thats true but the point of the game is youre choices so he could at least focus on it a little more and not act like some 5 y/o who likes to press buttons

I used to LOVE Let's Plays, funnily enough, and would look forwards to watching a game than playing it myself.
After getting a job, however, and being able to afford to buy games on the cheap from Steam again, I've flipped. Now I'd much rather play the games myself. I think it also has something to do with not enjoying the most popular people doing Let's Plays as well. I used to watch DSP a lot, but then he became super crazy and lost his fanbase.

I'm all for LP's. My fave is cr1tikal.

So yeah, I am forever grateful for LP's.
