I know I'll get hate for this, but I don't care.
Episode 4: Amid the Ruins was my favorite episode in the entire TWD series. It had great gameplay, and it was just fun. That's what it comes down to for me. Even though it had some flaws (determinate characters dying in lacking ways, some bugs, and some weird character reactions etc.) but to me, it was a great time. It was just...SO FREAKING FUN. And that's all that matters to me. So, go ahead and down vote me because my opinion differs from yours if you want. XD

To me, it was a second favorite, only bested by Starved for Help.
It probably wasn't good for me because I decided to spoil myself. I didn't, it would've easily been top 3 ..
Starved for help was very good. Probably my favorite in Season 1!
You decided to look on the forum and spoils the ending for yourself? Well, hey, that's not as bad as me...I spoiled the ending of the first Season for myself before I had ever picked the game up. I was very angry at myself. XD
"I know I'll get hate for this"="I'm going to say an opinion that's not a minority opinion and is at worst, an opinion that the fanbase is split 50/50 on. Upvotes are below"
It had its flaws, but so did all the episodes in one way or another. Nothing wrong with liking this episode.
My personal fave was No Time Left, even though (or maybe even because) it left me an emotional wreck afterwards.
I watched the entire season 1 playthrough then decided to get it myself.. :P
I wouldn't say it was my favorite of the series, but I enjoyed it more than I did any of the other Season 2 episodes and even some of the Season 1 ones. Jane's characterization was fantastic. Despite her surface similarity to Molly she distinguished herself as a personality in a way that Molly never did. And it had some of the best lines in the series.
That's pretty much how I felt about the episode too. I didn't like how the writers handled certain characters and interactions, but the overall experience was a good one
I was so relieved they didn't make us deliver the baby or kill the mama raccoon! I'm grateful to the writers for not forcing us to do those things lol
I think most of us like it, its a small number that does not.
And this small number has been voicing there opinion a lot louder than those who do like it, makes sense though since they are upset. When i saw the name of this thread in my head i said "Oh no its going to be another thread of complaining"
Its my 3rd favourite of all time and my favourite of Season 2.
I was very dissapointed that there wasn't an option to kill the raccoon or not! XD
Season 2 Favorite: Amid the Ruins
Season 1 Favorite: Long Road Ahead (but its laggy as hell by the end)
I also had fun playing this episode
. It wasn't my favorite (starved for help being my absolute favorite episode so far) But I really enjoyed Amid the Ruins.
O-O
I'm not gonna downvote you for liking the episode... And so did I.
I agree with the cynical interpretation of the thread above. If anything, the title indicates that you do, in fact, care and desire validation. We seem to have a reflex to instinctively like what breaks or challenges the current social paradigm in a carefree way.
On topic: I liked it. I thought the season could've benefited from having some aspects of this episode since the beginning. Not the treatment of the determinants, though.
Yeah same, youtube introduced me to the game
Thanks, dude! A loy of people, if you disagree with them, will just down vote you and leave. XD
The first part of your comment made my puny brain hurt. In a good way. I think.
This would be my favorite episode EVER if it weren't for the treatment of the determinant characters. R.I.P. Nick and Sarah.
I enjoyed the episode too. I know it had flaws but doesn't every episode have flaws too.
I did it too! When I watched the playthrough, I didn't even think about playing this game. But when I reached Episode 4 videos, I was like "This game is so awesome, I must get it!". And it didn't matter that I knew all the plot, I still got a lot of emotions and cried like a baby in the end.
I liked Amid The Ruins also, but I still have No Time Left in First Place x)
Not my favourite ever episode but definitely my favourite of this season.
I agree best of the series so far, I've not been a fan of S2 but even with that said definitely best the
So far..(of S2)
It was definitely a great episode, at first I disliked it because of the high number of deaths and how the determinant characters were treated, but taking multiple looks into the episode, I finally released that it was a great episode regardless of the deaths.
isn't it funny how threads that start off with "I know i'll get hate" ends up getting the most likes? Just say your point.
I agree it definitely was the best in S2
and much better than S1 Ep4
that was basically just filler but people apparently forget that
No Clemrox, I appreciate you for giving out your honest opinion.
Why hate? I totally agree with u^^
I don't see why you would get hate, so long as you're not tearing anybody else's opinion down as you express yours. I've been very critical of S2, but I thought this was the strongest and most well-rounded episode of the season. Definitely with its flaws, some of them pretty major, but it felt like the closest thing we've had to a S1 episode yet.
This 100%
I loved the gameplay in the episode. But it sucked that nothing really mattered in this episode and it just felt cheap storyline wise you know?
The decision on Sarita doesn't even matter because you get the same dialogue from Kenny, and you only get to say one line to her if you chose to kill the zombie. ONE LINE. A goodbye scene would have had more impact for the choice.
And then came Sarah who, if you chose to save at first, had the potential for great character development, but got cut in the most boring way ever, with no significant impact whatsoever. Those two are the great problems I had with this episode.
Aside from that, the episode was good gameplay wise. But if the two things above had changed for the better, I would have loved it for the story as well
I know that I complained about its flaws and all but... It was my second favourite episode this season. I felt some nostalgia with this episode.
No. I'll start my thread off however I want.
Well, thanks! Your appreciation is appreciated! XD
I don't agree with the filler part...I believe that every episode plays an important part in the series.
People who don't like this episode are very....opinionated....
Well, the a lot of the people who hated this episode have a lot of strong, emotional opinions....
