New Pairing, Anybody?

  • Okay I understand what you're getting at. The pairing of characters who have similar issues (such as Kenny and Christa) to fill a void (as you put it) is understandable. For me, the fact that Kenny and Christa could be a couple is really strange because they seem like two puzzle pieces that just don't fit. They don't seem like they could be a compatible pair.

If there is a loving relationship between a couple that seems genuine, I like their pairing and I "ship it". I've seen this genuine relationship with Christa and Omid and Kenny and Katjaa/Sarita but I can't see it with Kenny and Christa.

I'm not saying they shouldn't be a couple, I'm just saying I don't see them as a couple.

Yeah, I can understand where you're coming from, but I also feel like for both Christa as well as Kenny, being alone will just lead them int

  • Alright, that's fine. I may disagree, but I respect your opinion. :)

  • Yes, I agree :)

To me, this pairing seems a little "forced" meaning it feels like they should be together because they have similar issues and not because they have a meaningful connection.

I don't know...I mean it's great that Christa will be moving on but..Omid.:( I'm also not sure if Kenny will be open to letting someone else into his heart again, especially after losing his girl for the second time.

  • Well, yes, it does seem that way, a bit, but I feel like they'll gravitate toward each other if and when Christa returns because of the issues they've faced, and then they will be able to form that connection, that bond.

  • Yes, I know, Omid was quite a loss. :( And, yeah, that's true, but I also feel like he might do just that not because he lost them, but because he needs something (well, someone) to cling to, someone to keep him at least moderately sane, and as he says (though I believe this is determinant), "I can't be alone again." He doesn't want to be alone, therefore I believe he'll want to form a bond with another female character, and this character I hope will be Christa, just because they're both very strong, smart individuals, and they've both been through the same struggles, and therefore have more connection in that sense of having experienced similar loss.

  • Kenny's bound to end up with someone, because, as he's said, he doesn't want to be alone.

Yeah, but what if no one wants to be with Kenny?

  • Maybe Christa will? I dunno, at least I hope she will. :)

Also, question. How do you do that box thing? I'm new here. :D

  • Personally i feel that they don't match, the first reason is that i don't see why Christa would go with Kenny when she probably still wants to continue her feelings for Omid. The only reason Kenny moved on from Katja is because he wanted to recreate his family, but Christa doesn't really show that she wants to do that.

And one more thing, Kenny really is a psycho, if anything Kenny will try to create a family with her but she will deny and Kenny will go nuts, for the 1232329 time.

  • Christa and Kenny, them guys look like a match!

Well, thanks for letting me know.

  • Well, I suppose I see where you're coming from, but seeing as Omid's has passed away, I feel like eventually Christa's going to need to move on from her feelings, or else she'll constantly be depressed. And, actually, Christa might want to do just that, because she did lose her own child, after all.

And, yeah, Kenny can seem a little crazy at times, but I think he's that way because he's been through so much suffering, and having someone who understands what he went through might help him out.

  • Um, are you calling me stupid?

  • I kind of see this working, and I REALLY hope that Kenny is alive at the point where Clem finds Christa..Whether they argue or not, I wanna see Kenny and Christa interact again.

  • Yes, I do as well, because since Kenny had such a positive reaction to Clem returning, perhaps having another person returning from his past who can relate to him even more than any of the other survivors would help him out, even if their relationship doesn't become romantic.

  • Well so far all of Kenny's women died and I dont want Christa to die...

  • still better than Cluke

  • Yeah, I see what you mean, but I also feel like Christa's really strong, and sensible, and so if she ever gets in a situation where she loses a loved one (and she already has), she won't commit suicide, and also if she gets in a situation where she's bit, she'll know that she has to try cutting the limb off and not scream around the walkers, and run away immediately so they don't bit her anymore. She's very rational, and extremely tough, and so I feel like she'll have a better chance of survival.

  • Haha, I'm glad you think so. There have been a few people mentioning Cluke on this topic, so I'm glad you aren't one of them. I personally think Luke is more Clem's older brother figure, so I definitely would feel awkward even saying I shipped it. :)

  • I don't really think shes needs to have a relationship to stop being depressed, and i also don't feel like everyone that suffers from their child dying constantly tries to create a new family, which is what Kenny is doing.

I really just can't picture it, sorry, but yeah i guess i understand that they have things in common, but when it comes down to it, it's not actually about whats in common, and it's about the personalities and how they face their problems in live, and Christa and Kenny pretty much do the exact opposite.

Well, I suppose I see where you're coming from, but seeing as Omid's has passed away, I feel like eventually Christa's going to need to move

  • I don't think Christa will ever get over Omid.

  • I don't think anyone will ever get over those they've lost, but they can still move on in their lives and continue living. And, maybe moving forward would help Christa a bit.

  • Yeah, of course it would, but some people don't recover from losing their husband/wife, by that I mean don't get into anymore romantic relationships.

Maybe not, but I still feel like having someone around who knows what she's been through might make her feel like she's not alone, and they might be able to work through their struggles together.

i also don't feel like everyone that suffers from their child dying constantly tries to create a new family, which is what Kenny is doing.

I disagree with you, because I feel like when someone loses a child, that's exactly what they'll want. They'll want that child back, and will find ways to replace it to ease their pain. Also, I don't think Kenny's trying to create a new family, per say, but replace them. Like, Rebecca's baby as Duck, and Sarita was Katjaa (though yes, she is dead now). You can't exactly blame him, either. I would probably be doing the same thing if I were in his position.

I really just can't picture it, sorry, but yeah i guess i understand that they have things in common, but when it comes down to it, it's not actually about whats in common, and it's about the personalities and how they face their problems in live, and Christa and Kenny pretty much do the exact opposite.

I actually believe that having things in common is very important, because without having similar backgrounds or interests or whatever, they'll be nothing to bond over. And, yes, they may handle some things a bit differently, Christa withdrawing from her emotions and Kenny venting them on others, Christa being more rational and Kenny focusing more on acting immediately instead of thinking, but other than that, they aren't that different. They're both incredibly strong individuals who are loyal to those they care about and willing to do anything, even sacrifice themselves to protect them.

There...an odd ship. Actually would it work? Both a little crazy...

  • Maybe, maybe, but I think Lily's too serious for Nate. All the crazy stuff he would say and do would just piss her off. :)
