I'd say most of you who can't immerse into season 2 is because you still see (or would like to see) Clem as a normal little girl. That's in fact what she was in season one and also in the first scene of season two, but not anymore. She is still a kid physically, and of course you can still realize she is just naive about many things, but she doesn't need more protection than, say, Nick, or Doug. She can shoot, scavenge, confront walkers... etc.
Aside from pshysical limitations and the lack of experience she is just another productive member of the group and they just realize this and treat her accordingly. That's only natural, because if you are trying to survive on the edge of starvation, you would use every asset you have, and Clem's certainly one. If you pay attention, the only ones treating Clem as a kid are Mike and Bonnie, and just until they get to know a little about her.
That's the entire point of the game. Lee succeded where Carlos failed. I think most of the people who doesn't like season 2 would rather having his little girl back to protect her yet again, but, by doing so, Telltale would be telling us that all we did in season one was for nothing.
I will say that i'm of the Chuck mindset. I don't look at Clementine and see a child. In a game like this, I look at her and just see a pers… moreon. For me, now that Lee is gone and we've been playing as Clementine, I honestly couldn't picture playing a mother/father figure to her again or having her be secondary. If Clementine is going to be involved with a third season, I want to play as her without question.

When an adult character is being yelled at, allot of people just get angry at the character, but if it's a younger character being yelled at, we feel bad for the younger character more than we do for the older character.
Each age has their own perspective, with someone like Clementine, she has allot of responsibilities for a child, people depend on her and it wasn't too long ago that she couldn't take care of herself alone.

That's probably the interesting take on it, there's never been game that I know of where you're in a zombie apocalypse and the whole time you follow a child's perspective who isn't an adult. The only time it's come close to that in the past is the brief time you can play as Sherry in Resident Evil 2.
Really it comes down to it, it's just personal opinions and tastes on what kind of games gamers like playing. For me, if the game had us play as Clementine in a Season 3 only a couple months older, it wouldn't bother me. Games in the past have shown age isn't an issue.

I like playing as Clem more than i liked playing as Lee. There's not many games where you can play as a child. Seriously, 99% of all games are adults or something else. And when we finally get to play as a child, people don't want to. The Walking Dead WOULDN'T be the same without Clem. Season 1 was Lee's story, now we're playing Clem's story in Season 2 and HOPEFULLY Season 3 too. It has to be Clem in Season 3, IT HAS TO!

It didn't make sense to me the way Carver reacted to her on first encountering her. I don't think that scene would have made a lot of sense even if she were an adult. It was like they were observing social convention that would no longer exist and especially not between a grown man and a child in that kind of situation.
Other than that, I think Clem's a weaker character than Lee but it feels to me like she's the Tell Tale equivalent of the silent protagonist. For that reason a greater range of choices feels more normal. I don't feel like I have to be faithful to an established character's traits or values. E.G. Playing Jane as a badass, or Kenny as a hot-headed.
There doesn't seem to be a real plot or anything, we hear Wellington every now and then but they don't talk about it much, the episodes have been good but on the whole it just seems mixed up and rushed through.
i can't believe i am saying this but i think i would have prefered to play as lily rather than clementine (team kenny) in season two, because at least the game would have been more believable
