Arvo IS a Good Guy

Unfortunately a lot of people on this forum are hot-headed tough guys who despise anyone with a hint of "weakness". Even though it's abundantly clear that Arvo is a scared, manipulated boy - his broken glasses bring to mind Sarah - people will blame him for the shootout rather than, say, the skin-head who actually starts shooting.

And I'm afraid that if he survives the gunfight, then Kenny will execute him anyway.

I'm actually okay with that, as it stands right now. Nothing to do with weaknesses, just some of Christa's motivations from when she shot Michelle during the premiere.

The blame game is not fun to play. Buricko started firing, thanks to Arvo leading them to ambush the group under false (or not) pretenses in the first place. If you took the pills, then it shifts to Clementine, and so on. In one scenario, though, the shootout really is on Arvo's hands. Unless you count Jane not executing him when she had the chance a mistake to warrant some of the blame.

  • If you actually stole Arvo's pills, then yeah, I kinda do give him credit since he is rightly mad.

But if you didn't steal his pills (in which case he is attacking you because JANE stole his gun), then yeah he's being an asshole.

You really see Arvo making it to season 3?

    Totally

You really see Arvo making it to season 3? I higly doubt it

  • Crippled Potter as the next Protagonist

  • btw, Arvo means Value in finnish, its a long shot but maybe it means something! 8) greets from Finland too!

  • I agree. I don't necessarily WANT Kenny to be a villain, but with all the hints at him breaking down into becoming as unstable and ruthless as Carver, I wouldn't surprise if he'd justify killing Arvo as 'getting even'. Which is the same logic that Carver used for killing Walter when one of his own men were lost.

And I'd blame Jane for antagonizing him in the first place. Any idiot would realize that a weedy little nerd with a broken leg who couldn't even speak English is harmless; it was her intention on playing the "ruthless bitch", regardless of any regret she felt after the fact, that terrified him into thinking Clem's group were all a bunch of dangerous thugs rather than just survivors as scared as him.

And I'm afraid that if he survives the gunfight, then Kenny will execute him anyway. I'm actually okay with that, as it stands right

  • I want to see Arvo kill a zombie with his metal leg brace thing.

  • When his group asks him where his gun was, he told them the truth - that a little girl and a woman attacked him - and they decide to wait in ambush for them. It's made clear through his dialogue that he doesn't call the shots in his group.

  • "Man"??? This here is barely a boy...

He's a decent man. With some flaws here and there but he is a decently good man.

  • Yes, im not going to compromise my own morals for people that would want to harm me, that would make me a massive pussy and send the message to everyone who would coerce people into doing things for them that it works.

Like never negotiating with terrorists, this works, if every law enforcement agency just charged the gates every time someone took hostages, no one would ever do it because it would be suicide.

Yes, hostages might die, but people put focus on the people failing to save everyones lives rather than the people killing them, its ridiculous.

The way we believe how his situation is, he is forced to do the wrong thing, otherwise he would be dead, and survival has priority over mora

  • "Mister I ain't a boy"

"Right, you're a man" (sarcastic voice)

  • Good guy is really stretching it. This is the Walking Dead remember?

  • Arvo = Ben 2.0?

  • Yeah. I guess I wouldn't necessarily call him good, because nobody is good but 'not as shitty as he could have been' might be a better descriptor.

I think he's a lot like Ben, so I'm thinking if I should help him out (I probably will) or let Kenny scream SHITBIRD!! I (Depends on what else Arvo does) but I'm probably gonna get to know him better before I make decisions, (and I didn't rob him)
