Why Sarita's death sucks.
I love Sarita and all but I think her death in this episode was just a horrible send off for one of my favorite characters because if you chopped her arm off... She'll die 1 minute in of this episode and the worst part is you can leave her to TURN which I didn't do, this was just a big falcon punch to the face because telltale wanted us to think "Oh, if you cut her arm off it would 'save' her from the walkers." Like 81% of all players chose to amputate her arm
but nope! She'll die anyway!
Oh don't even get me started on the "Kill walker" option.
Good news is that Sarita makes it with Kenny and Mike if she has both arms.
ONLY TO DIE LIKE 20 MINUTES LATER! She is with Kenny and dying of infection and she is later put down by Kenny with a bullet to the brain.
If she was going to die it needs to be near the END of the episode and not the first few minutes.
Hell, she only says one sentence in this episode.
(Arm cut off): You... You..
(Killed walker): Oh god, I'm bitten!
That's why Sarita's death sucks.
Comments
I don't think the way her death was sucked. It just sucked because we barely had any development with her character.
That too... I mean we only got to know her for an episode and had decent development but her death just voided all of what could have been massive amounts of character development
Yeah it seemed her only purpose was to die for Kenny's newest arc. Which is the exact same arc we had in Season 1. When a better story would have been Kenny suffering some kind of consequence for beating Carver to death since Sarita was really put off by it.
Which also makes her death worse because she was like the new Katjaa 2.0 just in time to die right in front of Kennym
That's kind of unfortunate.
Sarita looked like she wanted to talk to Clementine if you didn't cut her arm off...
I have to admit SHE was a good example of a poorly done character, she was just a niceish charcater for plot points, there was no depth to her at all, she was shoehorned in to develop Kenny. She was there to do two things
Make Kenny mad at clem
Give a choice about cutting of an arm.
I mean when people complain about Sarah and say she was handled poorly they've got to be directed to this. Sarah,Nick,Walter etc were all still characters in their own right even if they died suddenly. Sarita was more or less a plot point (sad thing is I knew the moment I saw her).
When I was playing episode 4, Kenny was being all grumpy at Clementine and Sarita looked at Clementine as if she was trying to say "It wasn't your fault" or "Goodbye"
Her death was just a plot device for Kenny's obnoxious and over done man-pain. She had a lot of potential and there was a lot of interest in her character that went completely unexplored just for the sake of throwing her in the proverbial fridge. I'll be forever pissed over her death probably more so than Sarah's.
Agreed
It seems the writers wanted to inflict the same kind of 'shock' that occurred from Katjaa's death, never mind that the latter's death was shocking because it was unexpected and we actually got to know her personality separate from just being Kenny's prop.
A good writer would actually have had the bravery to not kill her off.
eh I disagree about potential I mean every character could have been more but I never saw much in her that was intrsting. In my opinion its lazy she was even there, they usually do a good job on complex characters but that ski lodge just happened to have three standard nice guys/gal.
I mean one outburst from her about something, one argument and she would have felt fine and her death would have meant more. She was just a carbon copy of Kat which was perhaps the point but she should have stood out on her own at least a little, lest face it people are sad for Kenny not sad that she got eaten
Its a huge issue with this season. A lot of deaths that are shocking but really don't affect people like they should. Its like these characters are just being marked off a list.
The death itself wasn't what sucked to me, why sucked was that our choice did not fucking matter.
Then again, did any?
I wasn't terribly miffed for this, because I could basically see the 'Kenny development device 2.0' bar code underneath her clothes.
Which is disappointing I guess, she had potential. A kind, caring woman who's an easy mother figure rather than Clem's usual 'father figures.'
Rest in peace, Sarita.
Sarita should not have died the way she did. It felt cheap. If she had been one of the people who died at the end of the episode that would've been been better. I would only complain to telltale for misleading us about cutting the arm. Why telll us Reggie survived and yet Sarita died (unless it was purely the blood loss). She should have been taken away straight away after the arm chop, and bandaged (to stop the bleeding) and any infection control that is possible. More realistic, and even if she died, there is more logic there to me. It takes ages to bleed out, death is not instant.
That is what i was thinking too, she reminded me so much of his first wife, where she never said anything of substance or had a opinion.
Everyone's death sucks.
Kenny should've cut the arm off as soon as they got out the herd instead of getting pissed at Clementine for not doing anything if you killed the walker instead.
Lee's death: Gets bit by a walker and you can choose to cut his arm or not. HE DIES ANYWAY
Sarita's death: Gets bit by a walker and you can choose to cut her arm or not. SHE DIES ANYWAY
Plus I liked the idea of telltale making a misleading choice but seroursly, what do you expect if you cut someones arm with a hatchet covered in walker blood in the middle of a 1000+ walkers. Realisticly she would scream her ass off which would attract walkers to her and bite her to her death. What I didn't understand is how she turned so quickly though, but I think maybe the zombie virus has become stronger throughout the years.
That's only if you never talked to Katjaa.
That is a possibility.
Goodbye Sarita. You will be missed.
Her soul lives on. She reincarnated as Rebecca's baby.
Lol.
Please spoiler tag until android users get episode 4.
Sry about that.
Well she was dead either way, if you cut her arm in a herd of zombies trying to kill you and knowing that she will scream due to the amount of pain she's dead there. And if you kill the zombie, I guess no one thought of cutting her arm off because they didn't have a blade untill Clem came and/or they didn't have medical supplies.
Sarita herself sucks.
She looks at Clementine as if she were blaming CLEM for her death.
I'm glad she died.
Well I find it strange that she would be doing so if she looked at Kenny when he was blaming Clementine, then when Clementine shows a sad, guilt-filled facial expression, Sarita tries to say something to her but can't.
She looked more concerned than anything.
Maybe she was worried how Kenny would treat Clem from then on. (And rightly so)
What I though woulda happened is this:
Didn't chop off arm: Infected (obviously), Kenny pissed.
Chopped off arm: Walker blood got into her arm wound, but survived the initial horde attack. Kenny pissed.
They provided the fact in the comics that getting walker blood in you is infact just as bad if not worse that getting bitten. Would've been the perfect moment to include this.
But yes, I too am pissed.
If you cut her arm off... Clementine is sadly to blame for her risky action which lead to Sarita dying.
If you killed the Walker, Sarita is worried and doesn't blame Clementine at all.
Poor Kenny, that's another loved one lost.
