I Used to hate Rebecca

When I first met her in episode 1 I despised her but as time progressed and I started to know her better and her troubles I really started to like her. When I finally beat episode 4 and she died I was heart broken, she told us that we were family and really cared for us in only a matter of about a week and a half. I will deeply miss Rebecca now :(

  • We love you, Rebecca.

    Rest in peace.

  • I think we all hated Rebecca's guts at one point, IMO she was definitely one of my favs this season and I would have liked her to stick around longer.

  • Her relationship with Clem becomes so sweet and nurturing once they get to know each other better....RIP Rebecca ;~;

    I never took her seriously in the first episode, because it was evident that she wasn't actually in charge of the group's decisions. Plus I figured Clementine would have cut her some slack because of her memories of Christa. Her character arc was done pretty well as far as I'm concerned - a 'strong black woman' who reveals herself to be a motherly, sensitive, scared woman dealing with incredible pressure.

  • i used to hate Becca, but when everyone and their mothers started hating her... I felt bad for her and started to like her. I miss her now :(

  • Rebecca was out of line trying to kill of Clementine, but with good and respectful reasons... I hated her, but I also understood the state she was in.

  • That honestly made me feel so goddamn hard since I have never seen someone say that.

    We love you, Rebecca. Rest in peace.

  • I actually never hated her. No matter what she said in episode one, I took into consideration that she was a pregnant woman.

    And that she got hormonal and stuff. I knew she would turn sweet to Clementine, and she did.

  • She was probably full of hormones, and ready to pounce on anyone in the first episode.
    I actually was one of the few that didn't use the possibility of Alvin not being the father against her, unlike some of you evil people (JK)

  • Thanks.

  • I didn't use that. That's not what Clem would have said.

  • I know that feeling. I don't feel bad for questioning her baby's father, since she was being a bitch in episode one... but her character became really great to me. I absolutely adored her in episode four, just trying to do everything to protect her, then when she died I felt heart broken. She reminded me so much of Clem's mother...

  • Same.

  • So did Harry Potter.

    I loved her just as much as Carley. And that's saying something.

    She may have been a little hostile towards Clem in the first episode but I just didn't really think much of it as I knew that meeting a complete stranger when you're heavily pregnant will always make you very uncomfortable.

    I'm glad that I wasn't so quick to pass judgement as I really began to like her during Episode 2. I constantly found myself checking up on her to see if she was OK and whenever Alvin persisted on getting her food she didn't want to get first dibs, she just played it off as "I'm fine." It just showed that she didn't want to be treated specially just because she was pregnant. She was always thinking about the group. Plus when she offered Clem to feel the baby kicking showed just how much she'd warmed up to Clem and saw her as part of the group. It was a real heartfelt moment.

    She was just the same in Episode 3. Always worried about the group and if they were OK, never thinking about her own well being. That's what I really liked most about her and it got me thinking that she was just a kind and overall nice person that could also be ruthless and strong whenever she needed to be.

    Episode 4 was where you could see just how much both Bec and Clem had bonded. The two escaped the horde together at the start and Clem always stuck by her side no matter what. The moment when you gave her the painkillers made me happy because she was so grateful for them, saying; "Clementine, you are my favorite person in the entire world." It did make me smile when she said that. And then came the moment when she asked if I wanted to hold her newborn son;

    Bec: "You wanna hold him?"

    Clem: "Can I?"

    Bec: "Ofcourse, you're family now."

    It was just such a great feeling to know that Bec now considered Clem to be her family now. After the events that occurred in Ep1 you would have never thought that the two of them would be so close, yet now Clem is considered family by her. I just loved the relationship that Clem and Bec had developed, kind of like her being a mother figure to Clem.

    And then ofcourse, my heart sank. Clem looks over during the final moments of Ep.4 and what does she see? Rebecca not moving, still holding the baby. And before I could take in what had just happened, she turns and I have the unfortunate luck of putting her down. Cut to black.

    It happened so quickly, I didn't even react for a few minutes. I was trying to get my head around what had just occurred. I was just in complete shock. Then, as soon as I realised what had just happened I just completely broke down. The relationship that we had developed over the last 3 episodes had just disappeared, vanished into thin air. Rebecca, who I loved throughout Season Two was now gone. And I couldn't handle that.

    Sorry for the long read but I just had to get this off my chest. Rebecca was such an important character to me and I still can't believe she's gone. Thank you for all the feels Telltale, keep making awesome episodes. Just wish they didn't have to break my heart so much :'(

  • I can see how that'd ruin your perception of her. But she wasn't the one who suggested that Clem be locked up in the shed, and she apologized the day after for being so harsh. That's more than can be said about Carlos.

    It's funny that our potential blackmail of Rebecca never played out. The closest thing to a potential pay-off is if you're mean enough to say "He doesn't look like Carver."

  • I knew that she would mellow out and be more sympathetic. Stress makes people not act their best but I never believed she was a bad person. Im sorry for the way she died, so suddenly after having her baby.

  • My sister once accused me of stealing 3000 dollars in her safe when she was pregnant, after being questioned by the police she found it the next day in the sock drawers, still waiting for that apology. Five years later. I think some women when they get pregnant lose their MF minds.

  • I remember the old days when I had Clem blackmail Rebecca. Now looking back at it I kind of regret it but at the same time i still do it in every new play through because it is one of Clem's best moments.

  • Hey does Rebecca ever bring that whole blackmail thing up later in the game? I tire it out once, but never followed through with it. Rebecca and Clem do talk about how far their relationship has come around episode 4.
