I agree. . . so would everyone. While, criticism is what keeps this forum alive at times, if you think what people say here is critquing the game (as opposed to complaining) you dont know the definition of either.
Looking at a story from a literary perspective and discussing how character arcs weren't properly completed? Analyzing the problematic implications of killing off certain characters while others still live? Pointing out plot holes and inconsistencies? If that's not valid criticism, then what is?
The amount of introspective and well thought out critique on this forum post-episode 4 has pleasantly surprised me. These are intelligent young people being active consumers and putting their minds to work. There's no reason for you to try and silence them other than your own refusal to accept the fact that Telltale dropped the ball here.
I agree. . . so would everyone. While, criticism is what keeps this forum alive at times, if you think what people say here is critquing the game (as opposed to complaining) you dont know the definition of either.
"Telltale dropped the ball" that is literally the reason why people on here complaining are 12 year olds.
I know the current generation, which I am a part of, likes to believe there opinion is right no matter what, but guess what ? Sometimes your'e wrong!
Telltale CLEARLY did not drop the ball or else no one would be playing, correct? If the fact was "telltale dropped the ball" well then whats the point of playing their game?
Now obvious your response will be something to the extent of " Just because they dropped the ball doesn't mean I don't enjoy playing there games" and my response to that is : well if you are going to continue playing the game, and ENJOY playing the game why are you coming on this forum to "discuss" marginal flaws YOU THINK (aka opinion) are wrong.
My big problem in all of this is that 13 year olds are telling Telltale how to write the story. Because they fell Sarita and Nick died in poor fashion. Like they are all a sudden experts at story telling. Like I said in my main thread ,which clearly not 1 person read, people are saying
"Telltale messed up" instead of " Telltale could have done this better"
I, personally, have not seen ONE thread that I can agree with when it comes to complaining ABOUT THE STORYLINE.

Once again, down votes are a sign of agreeing with me! Not even joking, people (the 12 yr olds on this forum) who can't take me dishing out reality get offended when I mock there theories/ threads/ whining and down vote. Real logical concept.
Kirbinator93PC its almost like your on a mission to get as many down-votes as possible
I'm not even sure if your serious or if this is all just some kind of elaborate troll attempt
I appreciate that you are writing very civil and making sure its your opinion. I can fully appreciate criticism as you mentioned. Its unfortunate the VAST majority on here can not comprehend thoughts properly and begin to think that Telltale was wrong. Telltale was not wrong. You may have preferred a different way, but Telltale was not wrong.
Yes. I, for one, wish that my decision to save him in Ep 2 had mattered, meaning he could have contributed to the story of the season in som… moree way, like Ben did. I would have been ok with Nick doing nothing in Ep 3 if his character arc continued to develop in Ep 4. The fact that he died, and that he died as an afterthought, regardless of my choices, was just frustrating. Same goes for Sarah
"Telltale messed up" instead of " Telltale could have done this better"
So... what? Is this an issue of semantics for you, then? People are phrasing their criticisms wrong?
You know people are allowed to be disappointed and upset with how a story line is going but still be a fan, right...?
I'm a twenty year old creative writing major. This is the field I want to go into professionally. It's not just 13 year olds criticizing this because they're mad about people dying. A lot of us actually know what we're talking about. And besides that, I'm glad that the 13 year olds are voicing their opinions. That means they're being active consumers and thinking critically.
Honestly I have no idea what your beef is, here. You just seem to be irrationally angry about the fact that we're not licking Telltale's boots.

Ha! If anyone hates Telltale its this guy right here, but to say anything negative about there writing is nothing short of hysterical!
Congrats for you bud on your creative writing major, but if you are using ONE example (that being yourself) as having ANY credibility in creative writing than there is no point in having this conversation.
Every time I argue on this forum I have to repeat myself. Like I said, I like complaining to a degree. And Im not trying to be a dick skoothz, seriously, but I think it is the degree of overreacting. Look at the thread "Shame On You Telltale". C'mon that is pathetic. And people are agreeing with it.
Because Telltale could have explored Nicks lifetime a little more and gave him a better death, people are claiming Telltale sucks? Doesn't add up. Personally, I loved Episode 4. Season 2 has dry spots, so did Season 1, but I loved the pace and build up of Episode 4 and of course there are things I would change. I wish Jane didn't leave. I wish Mike would live next episode, but I am not going to complain when he does inevitably die. Thats what makes the storyline so good imo.
In short, what bothers me is coming on here whenI am bored and want to discuss the game only to find the only thing people are discussing are how Telltale "dropped the ball." I used to come on here and see at least a few insightful threads about the plot. Who's going die? Whats going to happen next? Did you notice this? etc etc etc now its just these brats making threads complaining because something happened that wasn't to their liking.

Um, this is coming from a high school student who loves creative writing and storytelling, but I also think that Telltale did a subpar job with this episode, especially compared to previous episodes. And while I agree that complaining and criticising are two different things, it seems like you're being really intolerant of people with different opinions from you. Why don't you think that discussing the valid flaws and missed potential of this episode makes for insightful threads? The topic of "Telltale dropped the ball" can make for insightful discussion so long as there is valid justification behind that argument; don't just write them off as "complainers" or "haters". Though I agree that "Telltale sucks" is going too far. The writers sucked in this episode, not the entirety of Telltale.
And we brats aren't unhappy because something happened that wasn't to our liking. We're unhappy because we expected an episode with writing that was on par with that of Telltale's previous works, and several of us were disappointed.

Wasn't on par? Episode 4 was amazing! Get out of here if you don't think so.
Threads complaining can be only so insightful for so long before they stat getting to be a nuisance. I don't need 5 threads saying the same exact thing. Once again, while YOU may claim its not complaining because you were expecting better. I am 100% MOST of the users are complaining because they didn't get their way.

Skoothz, you really need to work on your counter argument skills. Never have I said I am mad because people are criticizing the game, I am annoyed because of the reason they are criticizing the game AND to the degree in which they are doing it.
If there was one thread, that had clear points that was written in a level-headed manner I won't care at all. I would even partake in discussion. Like I said. . . again . . . that is by no means the case.

Hmm prove that users are complaining because they were expecting better. You can't. I can't prove it either. But please give a read through the comments on any thread dedicated to complaining and tell me those comments (the majority of them please don't nit pick specific ones) are just childish, unsupported claims.

Prove that users are disappointed because they were expecting better? Sorry, but that doesn't make any sense. The general reason that people complain is because something hasn't met their expectations. This is a given. People are upset about episode 4 because it did not live up to what they wanted. Do you really think people are complaining just because?
And I've been reading through the forums for while, and any complaints I see at least have some support behind them. They may be unreasonably angry, yes. They may be disrespectful, yes. But they usually all have justifications behind their points (unsatisfying writing, inconsistent characterization, lack of reaction to deaths from characters, etc). I agree that people need to be more civil with their opinions (that's another discussion), but I frankly think its wrong to act like just because their opinions are worded 'childishly", they are invalid, especially since they are making supported claims.

TheMPerson really struggles with the concept of sarcasm.
Did I hear a triple face palm ?
in my country down votes are a sign of approval

I'm just having a lot of difficulty following what you're trying to say.
