CiD, can't you guys just continue on in the new thread like normal..? I really don't get it. What is preventing you guys from doing what you were doing before?
The lounge got what it deserved, and I'm an active member of the lounge too. Sure I was upset about the merge but I didn't start bullying Je… morennifer. I'm gonna try to avoid some of the loungers and keep in touch with only a few I'm very dissapointed about what's happened in the last 24 hours
They weren't calling her mean names, otherwise she would've banned them. You think someone with the power to ban people is just gonna stand there and be called mean names?
They were calling her out for her poor actions. Which unfortunately was too much for her.
Cyberbullying is the use of information technology to harm or harass other people in a deliberate, repeated, and hostile manner.[1] Cyberbul… morelying is the act of harassing someone online by sending or posting mean messages, usually anonymously.[2]
Just thought that I should leave this here...
I don't know what happened exactly since I just skimmed through the forum to see, but I can understand why they would get upset about the situation. I do not agree on how they handled it though. Harassing anyone in general isn't a good thing, and she was just doing her job.
From what the thread is now, it's basically just a bunch of much nicer stuff. Let me give you an example, as given to me from one of my friends over skype.

Just calling her out for poor actions, correct? As I have heard, there were plenty more actions that are NOT acceptable.

It was basically just an OOC Thread for a fanfiction called Forum of the Dead. I personally feel it was idiotic to bully Jennifer like they did for something as trivial as that.
I just logged on a bit ago so, again, I don't really have anything to say about anyone involved. I will say that I'm sorry to hear she's gone. She seemed nice from what I saw.
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but what's OOC mean hear. On another forum I'm on, it stands for Out Of Character, which we use for our RP's("Role Play).

Oh, yeah. I guess OOC wouldn't really be the right word for it. It's just the closest I could come up for it. General Chat, maybe? But only involving members of the fanfic.

Personally, I prefer keeping the dislike button. I understand the frustration with stupid, baseless downvotes, because I've been at the rece… moreiving end. However, I like to see the popularity/lack of popularity of an idea. Are we so sensitive as a society these days that we can't handle a downvote button? Some people don't want to take the time to write out why they disagree, so they downvote. I've never really used the downvote button much myself, but I appreciate its purpose. I think removing anonymity would have been more productive if we want to find out who the downvoting trolls are. Just my opinion, obviously.

I completely understand where PasswordSuck was coming from. The thread stayed so long unmerged then it was a merged out of the blue. You know, if you're gonna follow the rules and be a good mod, follow it all the time, not whenever it is convenient.
I just checked into 'that' thread to see what happened and to get sharper details. And I gotta' say guys, what was said there is the worst behavior I've ever seen directed to a moderator (and a kind and friendly one to add). And I can understand that people were annoyed at what happened and pointed it out, I get that. But to be so... aggressive towards her was, to say the least, uncalled for. And now I can't help but feel disappointed in how the community reacted. Come on guys, I know you're better than that and I know that a lot of people didn't react so harshly towards her so this isn't directed to you. I just hope that people will learn from what's happened recently and try to sort it out in a more... civil manner.
P.S. That's one of the longest things I've written on these forums.

I am done with discussing this. Sorry, I will just say that they were indeed name-calling her and she did only her job.
End of discussion, since the mods don't want any more arguments.
They were banned for continuing the subject. I haven't seen PasswordSuck flame Jennifer. The most I've seen is;
They're all leaving, and … moreit's all because of you Jennifer.
Seriously, who randomly decides to merge two giants threads and expect people to be cool with it simply because you're a mod?

Some of the things said there were pure NOT acceptable, even on the fuckin internet. It boiled down to basically cyber-bullying. You can't defense them. I actually LIKE some of the people there, but what they said is just not right, even for Internet standards.
Yeah, because when you decide to merge two giant threads together, people are gonna be pissed off.
She pulled a Ben move. Good intentions, bad overall.
Ah, I see. Thank you kind sir for enlightening me.
I haven't really seen the thread your talking about but why not create an entire section dedicated to fanfics? It worked wonders on the site I mentioned a bit ago. A fan fiction section dedicated to stories people come up with(about TWD, TWAU) and people create their own threads or would the mods find that as being to cluttered?

Yeah I'm gonna do the same, I checked in right when the Lounge was being closed, and the things that the Loungers said there were just absolutely rude.
I understand the urge to have her realize what she did, but to address it to her as if she purposely wanted to anger and stir up the community is what upset me about the whole situation. Pointing out what she did was okay, but being dicks about it wasn't smart.

As this whole situation is over, I think we should at least refrain from any more arguments about the matter.

If being a hypocrite is what you're trying to accomplish, then continue on.
u havin a giggle there m8
Yeah, that sounds like a good idea.
Umm...did I miss something? What happened to the downvote system? I feel so out of the loop right now...

Idiotic? More like pathetic.

It was removed after some people expressed a desire to get rid of it, I believe.
So you like seeing good discussions and comments get lots of down votes for no reason?
Edit: Mods don't want any more arguments.
Idiotic sounded cleaner, somehow. But pathetic works better.
I'm involved in some of the FOTD stuff, and I'm pretty much ashamed of them. Pathetic works great.

Ok, sorry for starting some arguments in the first place.

It seems they're banned. Because I can't find them.
Some of the stuff I saw directed at Jennifer was sickening
Ultimately an irrelevant and separate issue to the actual merging of the thread itself.
I understand the urge to have her realize what she did, but to address it to her as if she purposely wanted to anger and stir up the community is what upset me about the whole situation. Pointing out what she did was okay, but being dicks about it wasn't smart.
Thanks man. Nice to see an old friend again!
They were also merged with a dead thread which makes the merge relatively pointless.
Hopefully everything can go back to normal for you guys once it opens up again.
