  • Lots of people here we're raised in environments in which insulting races is not serious in any manner whatsoever, so try not to take it seriously

i'm not oversensitive. i'm 17 and just because i curse doesn't mean i lack intelligence nor does it mean i'm not mature.

Indeed. Some people on the forum, and not all kenny fans, seem to parrot both his words and decisions.

That is why most of them have been unwilling to engage in actual discussion with me. The removal of downvotes has made them creep out of their holes, but not much.

They prefer to follow others' opinions instead of making them themselves, and as a result said opinions are often half baked.

You've got the awesome ones like Belan, Rock etc who make very intelligent comments and engage in discussions. But you've also got ones such as The Walking Mustache who make jokes about Kenny's beard on basically half the threads they go on, and fill the remaining half with comments saying he is Jesus.

i don't offended but racist jokes more shocked that are people actually like that because you only hear stories about them. just understand what you're saying don't just say it because your favorite character did.

  • yeah i don't understand it either.

I think you are taking this "problem" to a whole different level.
Well, some of the racist jokes I can understand, but I think you are saying it like all of us are trying to offend people.

  • no it was a problem.

Whether you're intentionally doing it is irrelevant with things like racism or homophobia.

  • @flog61 fair point.

  • Agreed. "Intent" as an excuse only gets you so far because regardless of what your intent was, you still said/did it. And when you get called out on that but still argue about it and still say/do problematic things, then you don't even have the excuse of "that wasn't my intent", because you've been informed it hurts people but you're still electing to do it nevertheless.

  • I know, I think that's true. I don't really argue about clem's race, and I stopped talking about kenny's urban joke for a while.

Well, I thought it was funny because it's the kind of subtle, accidental racism I have to put up with all the time. It made Kenny more believable as a white southerner than if he were to act like a Klansman or the rednecks from the TV series. He was being ignorant, not malicious, and that was something I could understand.

But it's a bit annoying to see people just echoing that word without realizing that it's meant to be making fun of ignorant racism. Just have a spine and call a black person black.

  • were you talking to me?

  • White American dad, Thai mother. Racism comes in a lot of forms, whether ignorant or hostile, so it's necessary to be thick-skinned.

Little 'innocent' comments like Kenny's assumption remind me of the many assumptions Americans have made about me. I can't hate them for it, but it does get annoying after the five-hundredth joke about being from "Bang-Cock."

  • It's funny, stop getting butt hurt over it. You think urban is racist? I could pull tons of much worse stuff outta my ass. I'm sure if a black person heard it they wouldn't care. Why? Cause it was used in a humorous context. If it was used in intent of harm and offence, sure. Get into an uproar, but people have to lighten up and stop being butt hurt left right and center because "heuheu. He made fun of his race".

  • damn that's gotta suck. i just wanted to say to never use the term "poc" to describe people that aren't white. just because we aren't white and get discriminated by white people doesn't mean its the same kind. I've never had anything like being from "bang-cock" said to me and i'm sure you've never experienced the kind of racism i have. also don't do it group us together like that just because we aren't white that doesn't we get along we get along because i have gotten racism from people that aren't white.

not saying you say or have said that just making a point.

  • Calm down dude, its not a big deal, and technically, Urban does NOT mean black, if your Urban then that means you are from a urban area such as a big city or so, yes we do know Kenny was assuming Lee could pick a lock because he is black but instead of saying black he covered it up by saying its because hes from the city.

uh..i am black and i understand it was a joke and i'm not butthurt. i actually thought it was a very funny but its people that are using the joke incorrectly. they don't understand the joke or why it was funny they're just saying it because kenny did.
