She's definitely not another race. You have to look at her hair and facial features. No other race has hair like that. Also her nose is round and wide. Her lips are also very define.

  • I don't know about their intentions because I'm not part of the company. I only know what they've publicly said. Regardless of what they meant, Clem's light skin has misled a lot of people into thinking she isn't black.

I have enough faith in people for them to still sympathize with a little girl regardless of how dark her skin is, but it's interesting to speculate what would happen if Clementine was, say, the same skin color as Lee himself.

...I don't know about that. I personally think they made her skin tone the way it was for 3 reasons: * Clementine's designs is inspi

Take this as a lesson. Using the "black" or "white" term doesn't offend you I know, but some people does get offended by THOSE exact words. I hate to say this, but you are being racist in a way. People are called African-American or African-you name it, for a reason. Just like @SadCat said about slavery, the guys getting enslaved are called black, they get traumatized and gets called black instead of their names. If for example you as a young child were a slave, and your name was Dan, and you get black instead of your name everyday, wouldn't you be offended? I know you would, and that offence will be passed on from generation to generation until the world ends. What i'm basically saying is that YOU are being racist in a way. But RESPECT on your opinion

    No offence by the way

Let's all just be friends and forget about this argument/debate

i'm call myself black because i live in america and come from slaves. now someone coming directly from africa with african parents born in a

    Just like what @longlivelee

    *African-American
    Telltale confirmed it

    not the community

    but the company itself

i respect your opinion but she's black telltale has already said it.

  • Telltale confirmed that she's African-American. Lemme tell you about the difference of black to African-American, as you can see black is a 5 letter word while African-American is a 15 lettered word. Dude there is a 10 letter difference between them, therefore it is not close. But if you want me to be serious, A-A is not black, they are tan or dark tan or brown. Black's the wrong word.

Here's the difference between tan and black:

    that is tan

    and this is black

  • I know I'm not literary black I'm brown but black is just the term I and a lot of other people use to describe African-Americans or people with African descent.

  • I'm not butthurt about the joke. I'm mad at the kids using urban to describe black characters and people.

Yeah. And there is a meaning behind something like this, it's not called courage, it's called butt hurt.

  • Everyone seems to think I'm mad about the joke like the being used in the game. I'm not. Everyone also seems to think I don't like the word urban. It's fine I don't hate it. I hate that kids are using what was meant to be accidental racism from Kenny to describe other black characters and black people. People are saying race doesn't matter and getting mad at me for making this thread and I don't understand why I'm in the wrong. No one ever wants to talk about anything real on this forum. Everytime someone makes a thread about something that actually matters y'all rip 'em apart.

  • Yes, you can, but if white people are the ONLY ones being offended then it's not empathy it's projection. Sure, if black people are offended it's perfectly legitimate for you to support their outrage. If none of them give a shit, then white people getting offended about it is just stupid. That was all I was saying.

  • Just because we use it to describe someone does not mean we actually mean it.

  • No I'm sure you don't but you have understand it's still racist even though you don't mean it. Not the word itself but the way using to desrcibe black people and characters.

OP: im black and its bad to say urban cuz clem is black african american isnt a good thing to call them

Kids: ITS AFRICAN AMERICAN NOT BLACK

Trolls: Posts funny urban gifs and pictures

Mature people: Well blaha blah blah 500 likes

We are all part of these groups, can someone close the thread? :p

  • The way they're urban is racist that's all I'm saying and no I'm not closing it. I personally prefer black but African-American is fine. Why do you want this thread closed so badly? Why is it a problem for you?

  • Urban jokes aren't racist I could easily say I like the term urban more than african-american, and you wouldn't be able to disagree, considering your "terms' in your first post.

I want this thread closed because I see a lot more hate and maybe a couple bans in the future. Trust me, nobody really cares about the urban jokes, or Clem's race.

  • Urban jokes are racist you may not be the joke itself is. Same with Kenny he's no racist but what he said was. If you call a black or African-American urban that's racist. Urban in the way Kenny used it is racist. He called lee urban because he didn't want to say ghetto or hood or something. It thought because lee was black that he knows how to pick locks because all black people steal right? So if you're using urban to describe a black person it's racist. Simple.
