Yup. I like them both i have struggle choosing one, Kenny may help you at some points but at the rest time he could be a big d*ck. On the ot… moreher side Luke is trying to prove himself but in big moments goes Ben style...I struggle so much about these choices, really i just can't decide who will i save in ep.5 (possible choice) i will feel very bad if i can't save them both
So you're really just mad at him because of that? If theres anyone you should be mad at for putting the group in danger it would be characters like Kenny. Kenny got Carlos, Sarita, Sarah (determinant), and Nick (determinant) killed all because he wanted to get his anger out and waste time brutally slaughtering Carver. If you noticed, Tavia and the others weren't shooting on the roof until Troy died so if Kenny just shot Carver instead of wasting time just to get some anger out, they would have been covered in guts and halfway through the herd before Troy even showed up and then completely out of the herd before Tavia and the others even knew what happened. All Luke did wrong was waste a bit of time that they could have used to get ready for the attack but it was likely that they would have been over run anyways.
I remember him saying something about how he didn't like Mike, for no reason at all.
Actually Luke specifically states that he likes Mike, he just thinks that Mike hasn't proved himself yet, hes only known Mike for a day or two and since everything that's happened, I think Luke has the right to at least not fully trust a guy they just met.
At this point it is highly possible he may fuck up
Its possible for anyone to fuck up, you can't just hate someone because they may fuck up in the future.
Putting the group in danger to get his dick up
I remember him saying something about how he didn't like Mike, for no reason at all.
At this point it is highly possible he may fuck up.. but like I said
2pretty2hate
Yeah, I've seen some of those hate posts on him. They're ridiculous. I mean, he screwed up, but hasn't most of the characters? Nick made way more mistakes than Luke, and he's still a fan-favorite. It seems like people are just looking for reasons to hate him.
Honestly, yes Luke should have planned ahead slightly and foraged for food and looked for water whilst he was making his way to the camp, that would have been the smart thing to do, but as I said before, I think he felt time was the essence; he didn't know what Carver planned to do with his friends, he just knew that Carver was very angry that they had left, and he didn't know what was going to happen.
Wait a sec...
OMG, I hadn't realized that until now: Remember when Luke said "There's nothing out there guys, the area's been picked clean, believe me I've looked"?Shit, He DID try looking for food somewhere else so he wouldn't have to risk getting caught by stealing food. However, considering he was already starving and there was no food whatsoever in the surroundings, he decided to take the risk and steal food, which ultimately resulted in him being captured.
He was trying his best but gave in to starvation because he had notion of how desperate his situation was.
But i still like Luke alot. Yes he might have fucked up a couple of times recently, but he obviously still is a good guy. Nobody is perfect. I can't blame him to much, for accepting Jane's offer. (Lee would have done the same, if Carley offered it to him)
I still like Luke (obviously judging by my icon!) and I don't understand all the hate for him either, I know not everyone will like him but in my opinion I don't think he has done anything unforgivable or done anything to deserve all this hate, to me it feels like people are looking for reasons to hate him and it seems like everything he does wether it's good or bad will be judged, he's even accused of being a pedophile by some just because he is friendly to Clementine, I guess he should just be mean to her then but then people will hate him still, I guess he can't win!:P
I liked Nick and Alvin more, but yeah, Luke is pretty likeable too, he just doesn't receive a lot of development (like a majority of the characters this season) due to the screen's infatuation with Kenny.
It's weird. Ben of all people has a big fanbase and he's the biggest screwup of either group, Nick also, yet Luke is the one people are insulting to for his one or two mistakes, Nick is my favourite character and I like Ben, but Luke sure doesn't deserve that, I've been more pissed with Kenny than any of those three and I like Kenny lots
I am part of TEAMMOUSTACHE!
But i still like Luke alot. Yes he might have fucked up a couple of times recently, but he obviously still is… more a good guy. Nobody is perfect. I can't blame him to much, for accepting Jane's offer. (Lee would have done the same, if Carley offered it to him)
This makes me wonder why people even play it. You're supposed to be attached to the characters or else it's frankly boring. People need to act like Clem now, not like Lee where Clem came before everyone, although Lee cared about the group
What do you mean she saved them from bandits? I was trying to hash out some terms with them when she randomly decided to shoot one of them i… moren the head and start a shootout <_<
I don't think the idea to abandon Lilly really compares because the situations were very different. It was more of a heat of the moment kind of thing with Kenny. His wife and child just got tackled by a walker and the place was getting swarmed.
1) Assuming he ran and didnt find a car.
2) Assuming he went without sleep or food.
3) Clem went without food and still managed to do everything. And she's 11.
4) Told Clem to do something and meet him at a certain spot at a certain time, which could have gotten her killed.... then doesnt show up because he needed to find food BEFORE then. HE could have waited the two hours. You're making so many excuses for him.
She didn't have to run across an entire state when she was being shipped to Carver's community, and it's implied that they had food on their… more second night. It's on the third day, after Kenny's beatdown, when Carver says "No supper for y'all tonight." Luke didn't have any of that.
Just put yourself in his position. How long have you gone without sleep? Without food or water? Do you know what that does to your judgment? Let's not forget that shortly after Luke is caught, he is beaten to the point that his ribs are broken, and doesn't have any rest afterwards. He then loses Carlos and his friend, fails to rescue Sarah on his own, and is forced to realize that his "best" might not be enough for his friends.
1) Assuming that he trekked across an entire state. Where was that stated at all?
2) Snuck into a compound patrolled by armed guards. But didnt have the brains to not go searching for food IN that compound. Where the armed guards were.
I don't see where he abandons Lee or Clem. At all. Even if you don't do anything he wants, he'll still sacrifice himself for that stupid walkie talkie to try to help get to Clem.
And even if you don't do anything he wants, he can still be talked into going with Lee if you bring up Clem in your arguments.
Not saying Kenny isnt bull headed, but at least he's not stupid or chokes when other people need him.
A lot of people say they don't like Luke because they don't want to think about how sad they will be when they find out he didn't survive the shootout.
1) Assuming that he trekked across an entire state. Where was that stated at all?
2) Snuck into a compound patrolled by armed guards. But didnt have the brains to not go searching for food IN that compound. Where the armed guards were.
If you don't help him kill Larry, he just stands there while you're being crushed under a door by the weight of several walkers.
If he doesn't like you he refuses to help find clem.
He doesn't sacrifice himself for the walkie talkie, Christa does that. Kenny sacrifices himself for Christa.
Kenny IS stupid, intellectually, or at least, the same level as Luke, so stupidity isn't an issue. He shouts: 'I don't know what you're saying but I know it's bullshit', after Carlos sums him up perfectly using long words.
Aaaaand my clem needed his emotional support at the start of episode 4, where he choked and yelled at me, telling me that I cause people to die.
Oh, and he choked by leaving CLem alone in a herd of walkers.
it's fine to love Kenny and despise Luke, but please don't have double standards about it. They have similarities. They both get beat up in episode 3 in their efforts to protect the group, for example.

Luke doesn't get kidnapped by Carver. That isn't really abandonment.
We don't know what happens, but we know he didn't 'abandon' them, because then he wouldn't trek across an entire state, causing several mental and physical exhaustion, to find them.
Certainly not as clearly as leaving her alone in the horde like Kenny did.
1) He found a car in the middle of the wods that happened to have petrol in it and took a nice drive to Carver's camp?
2) Well, CLEARLY he went without sleep or food. What other reason is there for him appearing so mentally and physically exhausted in episode 3? He's drained.
3) As said, Clem didn't undergo nearly the physical exhaustion Luke did.
4) He hadn't had food for 60 HOURS. Thinking he's a bad person for trying to find some, after he's already physically exhausted, is just unnecessarily harsh.
We're rebutting your points because you're LOOKING for reasons to dislike him and twisting everything he does into a negative. Grow up.
1) Assuming he ran and didnt find a car.
2) Assuming he went without sleep or food.
3) Clem went without food and still managed to do ever… moreything. And she's 11.
4) Told Clem to do something and meet him at a certain spot at a certain time, which could have gotten her killed.... then doesnt show up because he needed to find food BEFORE then. HE could have waited the two hours. You're making so many excuses for him.

I bet if you went there at the right time and found him passed out, you'd blame him for that, calling him 'weak'. You're clearly biased, so I'm not sure why I'm bothering to argue with you.
1) Assuming that he trekked across an entire state. Where was that stated at all?
2) Snuck into a compound patrolled by armed guards. But didnt have the brains to not go searching for food IN that compound. Where the armed guards were.
if he waited two hours, he would get incredibly weak and not able to do anything properly if the plan went smoothly, as for Clem not eating anything and managing to do everything, again not very good writing on Telltale's part.
1) Assuming he ran and didnt find a car.
2) Assuming he went without sleep or food.

I feel that someone who always tries and sometimes fails is better than someone who doesn't always try.
I don't like failure bruh
Luke's a nice enough guy, but let's face it, he's suffered from "Ben-itis" on more than one occasion.
Not trying is just failure with a different name
I still like him but he definitely has to redeem himself somehow I mean he did fuck up pretty badly
I like Kenny more. But I like Luke too.
Eh, he's ok I suppose. Nothing special. Kenny4Dayz
Huh, where's that voice clip from?
I still like Luke, more so than Kenny for one reason only.
He actually admits the he fucks up, and apologizes. but Kenny, no. He blames clem/lee on things that are his fault.
So you're really just mad at him because of that? If theres anyone you should be mad at for putting the group in danger it would be characters like Kenny. Jane wasn't. Ohhhhhhh!!!!

I miss Lee. RIP you civil war buff.

LOL i was kidding but if you say so ...
Does this answer your question:
How could anyone dislike Luke ?Who is the most likable character in WDS2.Nothing Luke did was unforgivable unlike Kenny .

This but I doubt Lee would've said yes if he was on patrol. That said he'd patrol with Clem so the offer wouldn't be talked of then really
This makes me wonder why people even play it. You're supposed to be attached to the characters or else it's frankly boring. People need to act like Clem now, not like Lee where Clem came before everyone, although Lee cared about the group
Bandits whom are craving their drugs aren't reasonable if they're the ones holding the guns
I like both Luke and Kenny equally. They both have good and bad things about them so I always try and stay neutral when they argue.
1) Assuming he ran and didnt find a car.
2) Assuming he went without sleep or food.
3) Clem went without food and still managed to do everything. And she's 11.

I like him, but he's just really weird. Tbh, would not care if he left the group/10.
She seems autistic. That's not an insult.
I don't see where he abandons Lee or Clem. At all. Even if you don't do anything he wants, he'll still sacrifice himself for that stupid walkie talkie to try to help get to Clem.

As did Luke. Then again Luke abandons Clem at the drop of a hat multiple times.
A lot of people say they don't like Luke because they don't want to think about how sad they will be when they find out he didn't survive the shootout.
1) It wasn't explicitly stated, but we can infer that's what he did. How else would he have gotten to the compound, teleportation?
2) To be fair, Luke actually mentions that he tried to find food and supplies before breaking into the compound, but "there was nothing out there".
If you don't help him kill Larry, he just stands there while you're being crushed under a door by the weight of several walkers.
If he doesn't like you he refuses to help find clem.

You know what?
Just read this.
http://michael-7123.tumblr.com/post/92793317469/luke-defence-essay
It sums up everything we're saying.
And please ACTUALLY read it. I know it's long, but that's because he thought it through.
And it isn't biased: it admits he's done bad things.
1) We know this from simple geography.
2) He states he looked for food but couldn't find any, and he's clearly exhausted.
I bet if you went there at the right time and found him passed out, you'd blame him for that, calling him 'weak'. You're clearly biased, so I'm not sure why I'm bothering to argue with you.
